  1. Very sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. May your son rest in peace.
  2. And yet, even if Brady and Belichick both swear they will retire if they win today, I will still root for the Falcons.
  3. Hopefully Vic Beasley's menu includes Tom Brady's face on a platter. My menu, I would say wings, meatballs, and some kind of chips/dip (preferrably nacho cheese).
  4. Not sure what Colts fans have been saying this but I will say I don't know any so I can't speak to that. As far as Elway>Montana, yes, adding Terrell Davis was huge, but Montana had a legendary HC, maybe the best WR of all time (granted for only 2 of his SB wins), and often times a great defense. That beats the RB situation. Elway was better.
  5. I'm sure I'll take heat for saying this but I still believe Manning > Brady. # of super bowl titles is a good measuring stick but it doesn't say everything. Elway > Montana and Bradshaw and I'll stand by that belief for the rest of my life. Regarding Manning vs Brady, here's how their teams have done without them. Pats have gone 11-5 and 3-1 without Brady. After Manning, Colts went 2-14 and looked horrendous. And the Broncos who won the superbowl because of their defense last year fielded mostly the same defense this year and missed the playoffs. That speaks volumes louder the # of rings.
  6. So glad others are able to see this. I want a franchise QB just as bad as the next person. And I do believe you need one to be playoff competitive. But you need to scout the QBs and find someone you truly believe in. Even if that means waiting another year or two. If you evaluate the QBs and don't see anyone you are confident in, it's just boneheaded to say "well we need one so, even if we don't like any QBs, we need to reach for one".
  7. Sounds like he's describing the fan support the Patriots were getting before the Brady/Belichick era.
  8. Yeap, I was in 6th grade at the time and now my nephew is in 6th grade.
  9. McDermott: So, after losing the Superbowl last year the first thing I thought was 'I know exactly what team will give me my first HC job'
  10. Looks like we're playing another game in LA next year.
  11. Don't touch my fries either: http://www.usatoday.com/videos/news/2017/01/10/woman-stabbed-her-boyfriend-over-french-fries/96391418/
  12. Nope, Tomlin/Roethlisberger have had great talent to work with (Hines Ward, Le'Veon Bell, Saontonio Holmes, Antonio Brown). Not to mention some greats on defense. Rodgers/McCarthy has really been more on Rodgers but even he has had talent to work with (Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson, Clay Matthews on defense). Meanwhile Peyton/Brees have won a Superbowl with basically mediocre talent at best and have had a number of good years with really only Jimmy Graham as an actual threat. Otherwise, no great WRs, mediocre at best RBs, and a defense that has been descent to sometimes lousy. They've been down a few years recently, I'll give you that, but the Steelers had some down years as well here and there.
  13. Ugh! Hopefully the Giants/Packers game can salvage this crappy wild card weekend.
  14. They remain one of the very few teams who have gone longer than the Bills since their last playoff win. At least we don't have the longest drought in that.
  15. Picking Texans. I don't trust a rookie QB making his first ever start in a playoff game.
  16. Rex Ryan Doug Marrone Chan Gailey Dick Jauron But seriously: Sean Peyton - He and Brees are easily the 2nd best coach/QB combinontion of the last decade. Take them away and New Orleans would have been no better than the Browns in recent memory John Harbaugh - Ravens hardly have any more talent left and yet he's kept them comptetitive even against a brutal schedule this year. Steelers are way more talented and if it hadn't been for Harbaugh the Ravens wouldn't have even been close with them. Andy Reid - Been a winner everywhere he's gone. Tom Coughlin - Not currently a HC but recently enough. Love his tough, disciplinarian approach.
  17. Houston - Of course, if Carr was starting I'd probably pick Oakland but I just don't trust a rookie QB making his first ever start in the playoffs. Pittsburgh - Closer than the experts think as the Steelers tend to play down to their competition but I still think they win Seattle - Seahawks have been up and down all year but they are a beast to play at home in the postseason. *Upset* NY Giants - I know they've looked really good ever since but it's still hard for me to trust the Packers when they gave up 47 points to Tennessee and 42 points to Washington in back to back weeks. Especially when the Giants just shut down that same Redskins offense in a game they didn't even care about.
  18. Gotta be honest, after we gave up the kickoff recovery TD on Sunday I laughed harder than I have in a long time.
  19. Hate defending the Pats but if they had done this it would be all over SportsCenter and many NFL fans would be calling for suspensions.
  20. I believe there would be a lot of jubilation if we let EJ be out starter for the long term. The defensive backs playing against us every week wouldn't be able to contain their excitement.
  21. 2013 Dolphins came to Buffalo in a week 16 game with the playoffs in sight. And, behind Thad Lewis, we shut them out. I believe we can do it again. Bills 20 Dolphins 7
  22. I will say this, all of our other coaches in recent history, with the exception of Marrone and Mularkey who left voluntarily, have gotten at least 3 years before getting canned. While I have not been a fan of Rex he hasn't been any less deserving of a 3rd year than the rest.
  23. I would have loved this plan when Schwartz was our D coordinator.
  24. That loss also cost them homefield advantage which, given how close the championship game was, could have been the difference between them making/not making the superbowl. I'm sure they'll play Brady with the intent to win that one.
