  1. Hmm, I didn't see the game but he did barely beat a team in OT yesterday who surrendered 51 @ home to Maryland just a couple of weeks ago.
  2. Exactly! As much as I'd like to believe this is the beginning of the end of their dominance, I am not going to start buying into it until they start losing some more games. I recall them getting pounded by the Chiefs on a prime time game just a few years ago. People were suggesting they were finally on their way down, Belichick was supposedly thinking about trading Brady. And yet they were practically unbeatable literally the rest of the season.
  3. We may have only beaten the Jets last week but it's not like Carolina beat anyone great. Heck, the Niniers may be one of the few teams who could top the Jets for that first pick. We definitely stand a chance.
  4. Haven't seen it mentioned yet but I've really only been skimming threads but the most troubling play was Taylor throwing just throwing the ball down incomplete with a little less then 5 minutes to go. I don't know if that was his decision or if a coach told him to do that if he couldn't find anyone open but that showed a disturbing lack of time management. It was a 3rd down so taking a sack would have been better in order to run clock. I would really like to know why they thought that was a good idea. The throw was a little high but very catchable. And he didn't take the hit until after it bounced off his hands. You can maybe put a little bit of that on the throw but that is mostly on Clay. He needs to be able to catch those.
  5. I agree and for as much as we have been knocking Jauron for his "it's hard to win in the NFL" quote I think it's safe to say he was spot on.
  6. At least for right now, I'm not willing to give up hope before the season starts. No matter who we traded away, we're all 0-0 and whether we're the Bills/Browns or Packers/Patriots we are all at the same spot right now. If we do indeed start to crash and burn I'll continue to watch for the camaraderie at the Bills bar I go to and to see what Peterman does if he gets the starting nod.
  7. 1. Fitz 2. Bledsoe 3. Flutie 4. Taylor 5. Edwards
  8. Overrated: Kirk Cousins, Pat Mahomes Underrated: Jay Cutler, Deshone Kizer
  9. Rooting for KC to win this game then go 0-15 the rest of the way. Not saying it's going to happen, but it is what I'm hoping happens.
  10. Philadelphia at 24 and Oakland at 30? Would have expected those places to be much higher, like top 5. I don't think any place gets to Brady except maybe Denver.
  11. Not sure which of the two threads will get locked but I saw the other one first so IN.
  12. Marino, hands down. As much as I love Kelly and I respect his command of the no huddle, I would have been interested to see what Marino could have done with Reed to throw to and Thomas to hand off to.
  13. Boldin is cheap
  14. While I'm sure this was just intended to be informative for now, I'm not going to start beating my head against the wall thinking we passed up on a franchise QB until he starts looking consistently good in the regular season and winning playoff games. I recall Tyrod looking very poised and impressive in the preseason two years ago.
  15. Jared Goff vs Scott Tolzien week 1. Can't wait.
  16. Panthers vs Bengals
  17. Exactly, I look at Tom Brady. About as accomplished of an NFL player as can be, just turned 40, and considered by most as the geatest QB ever. He could easily retire and ride off into the sunset with his rings, kids, and supermodel wife and possibly never need to work another day in his life knowing he did about everything a QB can do. Instead, he chooses to continue to play this sport where he knows he is putting his body at risk. Some players may leave the game but I don't beleive it will be enough for the sport to end.
  18. Patriots* - Tom Brady
  19. I don't believe for one second football is going anywhere anytime soon (and by anytime soon I mean next 50 to 100 years at least). While there are definitly people who aren't playing the game and parents not allowing their kids to play I just don't believe it's enough to end the sport. There will always be enough football players who don't care about the risks and just want to go out and hit people to fill up the pro, college, and even most HS rosters. What you may see happen is the overall talent pool dwindle a little bit. For instance, the next Tom Brady, Ladainian Tomlinson, or Calvin Johnson may be part of the group that decides the risk isn't worth it so they choose a different path than football and we never get to see them in an NFL uniform. Now, if it did end in 10 years, I wonder what LA would do with that mega stadium that is being built for the Rams/Chargers.
  20. Ravens struggling, Ben possibly retiring after this year, Bengals back-slid last year. Get ready for the Browns to take over the AFC North.
  21. Not including sports, I do watch Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Can't wait for those to come out on Netflix. Otherwise I do watch reruns of comedies (Family Guy, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family).
  22. The way I see it, if the players know the risk and still play, I am okay watching. Much like spectators watch a stunt performer do life threatening tricks they themselves would never try. But I would never call someone who walks away from the game at any level a quiter. I may call them smart.
