  1. I very much agree with the OP on this. And while I agree that he faltered in the playoffs given our hope at the time to just finally become a playoff contender again I would have thought we would have been the perfect landing spot for him.
  2. With the exception of the Raiders game the very next week that was such a good defense.
  3. So this may not be a very popular opinion and I don't think he's going to win but if I could pick a sleeper it would be Pete Carroll. The way he has been able to keep Seattle winning and ahead in the wildcard race after all that they have lost particularly on defense as well as dealing with Baldwin missing some games to injury I thought they would actually regress this year. Gotta admit he has done a fantastic job with them this season.
  4. Not a smart move at all imo. While I don’t think Flacco is great I always thought he was better than a lot of people gave him credit for. Aside from Boldin for a few years he never really had any WRs to throw to. I still think he gives them the best chance to win.
  5. The obvious one was the loss to the Steelers in 04 but I’ll also add in a “write-in candidate”: I wasn’t sure if this would qualify as we weren’t in the playoff race but 12/4/05 @ Miami. We we up by 3 TDs and I believe we could have been up by more but we blew some chances on some turnovers near the goal line. The Dolphins come back in the 4th quarter and Sage Rosenfels beats us on a last second TD pass 24-23.
  6. Didn't help that Milano got hurt on the play before but I think you make good points.
  7. If only the Texans would have won today they'd be ahead of NE for the #2 seed.
  8. To make this loss even more painful, Colts lost and Titans are losing. Looks like we are getting the help we needed to get back in the race if we would have won.
  9. You can not miss throws like that if you are going to be a franchise QB. I don’t care how many yards you rush for.
  10. So we need Jacksonville to win? Well, hopefully Fournette goes off today........ oh wait
  11. They are not going to beat us throwing the ball. We should be keying in on stopping the run.
  12. After a bye week, coming off a bad performance in their last game, and the discussions around Brady’s arm being done, this seems like it has the makings of a day where Brady goes off and the Pats destroy the Jets.
  13. I’d like to see a Rams vs UConn spread.
  14. I am skeptical of his decline given a few games from earlier this year. While I don’t think Miami is as good as their record suggests he did slice them up with ease earlier this year when they were unbeaten. Plus outdueling KC and winning at Chicago against a good Bears team. But maybe it’s taken the rigors of a full season for his decline to start showing. If it is starting I would welcome it.
  15. It was Thanksgiving weekend last year when we came off of 3 really bad performances heading into Kansas City where one more loss would have most likely done us in for the season. We pulled off an upset and turned the whole season around. Let’s do it again.
  16. Lots of close, down to the wire games today with the exception of Titans/Colts and Eagles/Saints.
  17. Given how badly they beat NE last week, there is no way we are beating Tennessee this year.
  18. The tweet doesn't specify Detroit Lions. Could be for some team named the Lions in a rec league somewhere.
  19. I am amazed at how our fans kept saying all offseason that this should be a learning year for Allen, he shouldn't play a down, he should just learn, he's too raw, he's going to get killed behind such a bad o-line. All that with Peterman and McCarron as the guys who would be playing ahead of him. And now that we have a QB who actually looked solid in his last game and Allen already got hurt once and now we want to throw him in? Not saying one game makes Barkley a superstar but let's ride the hot hand at least for one game and do what we said we were going to do to begin with letting Allen develop from the sideline instead of throwing him into the deep end. That was replacing Flutie who had already led us to two straight playoff seasons not a very raw rookie who was coming off an injury. Galaxies different situation.
