You see this is why I think many of the Edmunds defenders just have a vague grasp of the other players at ILB/MLB. Devin White had another very good season.........he's better than Edmunds, no doubt.........you are thinking about the other off-ball high selection LB named Devin.........Devin Bush, who struggled returning from injury. David is not a WLB.........he plays in a 3-4 not a 4-3........his responsibilities are different than either Edmunds or Milano but he is absolutely an ILB. Demario Davis has been good for a number of years now..........he wasn't the All Pro that he is now early in his career but that was a LONG time ago. Campbell had a tremendous year..........1st team All Pro in a league where there is a fairly obvious group of studs at the position.........none of which are Tremaine Edmunds.

It's laughable the lengths people go to be mad at Gronk. Dude had no choice where he was drafted..........he got passed on by his hometown/favorite team in the draft...........did his job at a high level.........didn't treat Buffalo worse than any other opponent(though he probably had cause to for passing on him).........and yet people are ultimately mad/jealous because he did his job well elsewhere and that some of that involved beating an uncompetitive Buffalo team for the better part of a decade. The whole Tre White thing is just nonsense...........heat of the moment mistake.........he apologized(which most of them didn't even know about)...........and his explanation of the situation is consistent with the idea that he didn't enjoy playing for Belichick and why he would soon prematurely retire........but our emo's can't run with THAT they gotta' make it about his disdain for Buffalo or Tre or some other nonsense.

So a guy from southern CA thinks that a player whose family lives in Buffalo and operates their family business here would choose cap-strapped Buffalo to be the town where he came to steal one last fat pay check? Yeah if the position WASN'T different how do you suppose the uninstinctive Edmunds would look playing it? The only part of his game ANYONE thinks is extraordinary is his mystical presence in pass coverage(despite his approx 110 combined passer rating against the past 2 seasons). The reality is that most of the people who think Edmunds is a top of the league ILB/MLB do it because they just don't even know who most of the players are who man the positions around the league. You can't even begin a list of top ILB's without both Lavonte David and Devin Smith of Tampa. DeVondre Campbell was first team All Pro..........you don't think he's better than Edmunds right now? Demario Davis also an All Pro......and he ain't a new addition to the list of top ILB's. Beyond the vets and the 3 guys from Edmunds own draft class that have left him in the dust..........he's also got passed by a number of instinctive, young LB's the past couple of seasons..........he's been stuck in neutral...........and that's steadily decreased the impact he makes as teams exploit his weaknesses.........if you aren't getting better you are getting worse.

I should HOPE that a punter picked in the 3rd round is still in the league..........even if he's with his 4th or 5th team. Just an utterly idiotic series of draft picks............picking a punter in the 3rd round is effectively punting that pick.

Fact The idea that adding Rob Gronkowski might make you feel conflicted about your Bills fandom........and hopefully send you back to one of the other teams you used to root for..........makes it an even BETTER idea, IMO.

Gronk never said he didn't regret cheap-shotting White..........he said he was glad for the suspension part of it because he was so beat up from the season that he didn't even mind losing $300K to get a week away from a very unenjoyable season.

Buffalo selecting non-football player TJ Graham 69th overall and Jacksonville selecting punter Bryan Anger 70th...........with Russell Wilson still on the board(he went 75th).........might be the dumbest consecutive draft picks in NFL history.

1) I tend to be on the side of "Sweeney is un-rosterable"...........he isn't good at anything. 2) Agree no on Rudolph..........but also no on Engram.........I think they represent little but wasted cap dollars if acquired. Gronk is the clear choice if the opportunity comes up.

In fairness............I also needed to see Cole Beasley being an idiot online while rolling up $100K in protocol fines and missing the biggest game of the regular season for his beliefs while producing a laughably low 8.5 yard per catch. If you come to camp with Andy Isabella as your top option at slot receiver..........you're hurtin'.

AND...........said capable TE needs to not be a huge drop-off from WR3 if you plan to run 12 personnel.........which you want to be able to do A LOT to address protection issues that plagued the team for much of the year after defenses adapted to the Bills 2020 spread offensive attack. Josh Allen running 10 times per game did the trick when push came to shove late in the season............but that isn't a smart plan for a 20-21 game season.

Watching Cody Ford suck last season and Cole Beasley be a douche literally caused me to think.........."I wonder if Arizona would take Ford for Andy Isabella". And I think they would..........but OL's around the league are really thin and veterans are valued...........see Bobby Hart somehow still getting work. So I don't think Isabella even has enough value to be worth Cody Ford.

Hate to say it dude...........but you may need to find another hopeless cause to root for...........because the Bills are playing to win. Some people are afraid to win. The Patriots didn't win a single SB without significant help from former Buffalo Bills..........including the first one.........lead onto the field in celebration by #32 Antowain Smith, Buffalo Bills 1997 #1 pick. Count me as one who would love to flip that script.

I've done this before..........and don't need to do it for every dick and Harry that bobs up...........since you know better, why don't YOU list the top 15 ILB/MLB's.............and make note that if you don't know the players........it will be pretty obvious if you are using pro-sports-reference to figure out what position they play.........because they are often listed WRONG. Edmunds got passed by a number of players this year..........DeVondre Campbell, Nick Bolton, Logan Wilson and Denzell Perryman just to name a few you've probably never heard of.......3 of those guys are in the AFC.........where the pickin's at the devalued position have been slim for years which has greatly skewed perception of Edmunds to his benefit.........when he wasn't in the class of the NFC studs at the position. When the Bills picked up his 5th year option last spring I suspect they weren't expecting him to regress this season, which he did.

I think they've adjusted their expectations............if he was everything they thought he would be when they used a first and second round pick to get him.........he would have been extended for top dollar a year ago.

Yep, average MLB that is out there every down. Nobody fails to understand this.........what you fail to understand apparently is that the NFL as a whole plays base nickel now. A LOT of teams play 2 LB sets where both LB's are on the field all the time. If anything, the fact that that he plays so many snaps only magnifies just how few plays he makes.

The Bills defense is very good...........they played the 2nd worst schedule of offenses in the league in 2021 though...........so there was likely some padding of statistics.......as there was in 2018-2019...........when their yardage numbers were skewed by allowing the league's best starting field position to offenses in 2018 and a laughable schedule of QB's played in 2019. I thought they were better than their numbers late in 2020 when Milano and Edmunds got healthy...........but they played a dynamic schedule of offenses and that's the main reason they dropped off dramatically from the statistical standpoint. But a defense can be very good with an average MLB..........they aren't the same issue.

It's reached the point where you have to quote 3rd hand info from Damond Talbot of all people. I will say this though..........Edmunds is definitely a target of opposing offenses..........because he is a player who teams have learned is easily manipulated out of position. And for a team like Baltimore that tries to run everything between the tackles and throw the ball inside the numbers.........softening the middle of the defense is job 1 every week.
