  1. Two years left on contract.........that's PLENTY of leverage. One year.......with the WR hitting age 30 thereafter........is also PLENTY. Personally I think it's wise to let him play another season before extending..........add another WR1 potential in this draft...........before doing anything that they will regret by extending Diggs into his mid 30's with a big $ new deal. I think what you saw with KC and GB were organizations with QB's with elite arm talent realizing that they can produce massive passing #'s without paying $20M+ aaa for a WR1..........see Josh Allen to Gabe Davis in the KC playoff game for an example. And yes I know Diggs is credited for being the decoy in that game but his woeful numbers that day also underscore the concern that he isn't a RAC guy at this stage........and with a hole like that in his game he might not be viewed as being quite in the class of Adams by the Bills. Now Miami on the other hand..........they need players who can make plays around a more modestly talented passer. Basically a more likely to succeed version of what Doug Whaley tried to do by drafting Sammy Watkins for EJ Manuel........prop up a middling QB(prospect) with dynamic receiving talent.
  2. Beane might not reach on his board...........but the Bills board itself might be polluted by team neediness. The prime example being Cody Ford and the embarrassing way that unfolded("We need a tackle") on the Bills embedded series.
  3. I'm intrigued by Howard..........he was a big play TE at Alabama and flashed that in his first couple years.........now we gotta' see what he can do but the upside is big.
  4. Well some people who were working OT making excuses about why the Bills couldn't afford an elite pass rusher gotta' say something now that it happened, right? 😉
  5. At the combine the rumor was that the Bills were preparing to make a big splash........and speculation was that it was in part to get the WNY public excited with the controversial stadium funding issue coming up.
  6. He might have a $4M cap hit in 2022 for all we know right now. Number of ways they can manipulate it to make a lot of room.
  7. That's right! This big splash was prophesied!
  8. Actually the McKissic thing woke Beane up.......good thing Overdorf wore brown pants on the carpool in this am
  9. Judon really doesn't get where he's going yet. He will have 8 sacks at the trade deadline next season and Belichick will inexplicably trade him to Seattle for a 6th round pick and plug a UDFA into his spot............they are just chess pieces there in NE there isn't really any logic in recruiting or getting invested in that organization. Anyone who can be recruited is likely someone Bill doesn't want in his club. That's far too much free will.
  10. Yep............and these aren't the deals you regret if they don't work out. They didn't get close to the full 7 years out of Mario and it was still one of the best long term deals they've ever done. Bryce Paup........similar. It's about impact............now close the deal on the Lombardi and it's an absolute Lombargain. This is basically a 3 year $52M deal............not gigantic for what should be the 3rd or 4th ranked individual game breaker on the team.
  11. Yep congrats to Beane for doing the right thing.........this is how you do it when you are THISCLOSE........they are now much better positioned to win those critical one-on-one battles on the opposing QB's blindside and his wide game meshes perfectly with Rousseau's best trait as a pass rusher......an inate ability to recognize a QB stepping up and collect him. To all the people who bought his line of sh*t about "not mortgaging the future" on a big ticket item.........stop taking what he says at face value.........once the regular season ends then lying season begins.
  12. Basically, Settle would have to stay at 1T. Phillips can't play any 1T. Turrible, turrible at it. Might be a disservice to the up and coming Settle. Doesn't feel like a Beane move but I knew this was coming and thought maybe Phillips and Zimmer might end up as the 3T's. Jordan Phillips is a $1M-$2M player right now, IMO. As for the cutting Star part.........
  13. Amin..........people who want a Jordan Davis can get the 2015 model and not have to wait 4 years for the new one to get dumped on the market. 🤷‍♂️
  14. That's just the recipe for it at the dining hall at Jacksonville State.
  15. Hard to tell how much they think of Bates............but I would suspect they would have given him the second round tender if they just wanted him back for one more season as the top interior OL reserve. This looks like an attempt to get he and his agent to get carried away with that little freedom and negotiate a cheap 3 year $7M total kinda' deal elsewhere so the Bills can match it without looking like they low-balled him. If Bates believes in himself maybe he doesn't bite on something like that...........but the difference between $1M and $4M-$5M of guarantees might be tough to pass on. See the Justin Zimmer situation.
  16. Back to Atlanta, would be my guess. They have no WR's.
  17. Hopefully he's recovering well and will be a camp invite. I didn't think they were going to tender him.
  18. I suspect there are a lot of "feels" involved in Beane's salary limits. Like the difference between $2M and $3M for a reserve isn't perceived as much..........nor is signing a $3M player to fill a reserve or ST spot that probably should be manned by a rookie...........so sign 5 of those deals for $1M-2M aav over............... and then balk when a difference maker demands $17M instead of $12M. Maybe Beane will prove those of us wrong that think that his numbers haven't made a great deal of sense in UFA. But other than 2018 when his UFA class was universally viewed as a lot of gross over pays..........he usually gets a lot of props from the "be careful in free agency" media crowd.........but the sensible, lower aav deals are also the one's that said media tend to be quicker to forget. Sometimes 3 or 4 of those strung together end up hitting as hard as a big one ............and there have been a lot of those.
  19. Yep for league min no guarantees. Punt returner only..........no juice on kickoffs.
  20. Have we learned any details on Rudiger Scaffold signing yet?
  21. If he had to go someplace else........Las Vegas isn't bad for the Bills.......just makes that division a little more unpredictable on paper.
  22. Yeah because we were all so floored by the news. Nice player but no big deal. Plenty of McRB's out there still.
  23. Yeah they really seem like they are 1 impact player away from being a SB champion right now.............they were very good in 2020..........but regardless of the final result they were a BETTER team in 2021.........they just got out-manned by KC's playmakers late in that divisional game. It's time to make that move to get 1 more game changer. There is always an excuse to not go for it..........it's the easy fall back for any front office.........."they don't want to mortgage the future" becomes "well, they aren't 1 player away" pretty quick.
