  1. It was just a nonsensical thing for you to bring up. Then after looking at the scoreboard you say you don't want to live in the past..........and then pose a bunch of hypotheticals about the past and the future. Scoreboard is the name of the game in sports. The reality is that they aren't going to win that trade. It's already cost them two playoff eliminations. They got Tre White and Tremaine Edmunds out of the deal(after a little sweetening to trade up) and they will both likely be retired while Mahomes is in still in his prime in his early-mid 30's. Maybe Allen goes on to win a SB or more and has a greater career than Mahomes but right now Mahomes is playing a style of game that lends itself to longevity. Allen is going into uncharted waters with the amount of running he does........no QB that has run anywhere near as much as Allen has remained elite past year 8(Allen is in year 5). So my advice is live in the present with a QB like Allen........and save the victory laps until there is a victory to lap about.
  2. Nothing wrong with a little weed after a long day of rehabbing the knee. Not my cup of tea but it sure makes people religious.
  3. Yeah Halloween Ends was atrocious. I didn't have high hopes after seeing the trailer depicting geriatric Jamie and Michael wrasslin' in a kitchen fight.......but wow it was even more terrible than I imagined. The previous movie was pretty good but was kinda' tame and lame compared to the second Rob Zombie Halloween which was getting a lot of movie channel run at the time. After the first two that was probably my favorite. But the first Rob Zombie Halloween was really lousy.
  4. Giger was an obscure, grotesque artist who was brought into the movie business to do all the design for Dune by the eccentric movie maker Jodorowsky. Giger and Dan O'Bannon of Alien worked on Dune for a couple years. It was ready to shoot but it was like an 8 hour movie and no studio would undertake that. There was a massive amount of work created for Dune. When the work didn't get used on Dune the distinctive Giger style was able to be used in Alien. Other popular movies borrowed from the work of Dune too because studios were given the full storyboarded book as a sales pitch for Dune. 40 years later, the mountains in Prometheus were an homage to Giger's Harkonen palace design from the original Dune.
  5. Yet you were literally dredging up the past. We've stopped talking about it only because we like our QB and are focused on maybe winning a SB this season. But at the same time it's neither a score that can be settled or a mistake that can be rectified in just one season.........the 2017 Bills draft hierarchy created their biggest obstacle to the SB for the subsequent 6 seasons and counting with that trade and are literally 0-2 versus Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs and have had to watch them play in 2 SB's and win 1.
  6. I think the Eagles have the more balanced roster........because their OL is better and their secondary is more intact. But the Bills are clearly better at most if not all of the premium positions: QB1 Bills WR1 Bills LT1 Bills Pass Rusher1 Bills CB1 Close but White over Slay if Tre is healthy Most notable of those advantages, of course........QB1. I don't want to discount Hurts because he's good and has done a lot but there is a difference in their playmaking ability. Adding Nyheim Hines and hopefully the subject of this thread OBJ coming in and looking like late season OBJ of last year should elevate them even more offensively..........which is actually their weaker side of the ball.
  7. Excellent player. Especially on that 1983 Redskins team that is one of the best teams to not win a SB(like the 1990 Bills). Largest head in the NFL when he was playing. His helmet was basically a trash can. RIP Butz.
  8. It's been longer than 20 years. John Butler was an excellent scout but that dude was terrible at caponomics and even worse at selling the team to the fans. He'd get on his TV show with that white snot in the corners of his mouth and talk about how he didn't care if fans showed up or not. The Bills have always needed an executive style GM first and foremost because their owners have always been bad or green at running a football team itself, let alone football operations. He fit that bill right off the bat and has gradually grown into the scouting/personnel aspect.
  9. Good question........because it's not because Allen has won an MVP, been to 4 straight AFC championships and 2 Super Bowls, won a Super Bowl and eliminated/defeated Mahomes in the postseason the past two seasons.
  10. Yeah I'm not the thread police but I wasn't aware we were starting threads for random tweets from every obscure Buffalo sports pseudo celeb.
  11. You are a fan of New England pro sports teams........the ultimate sin of a WNY sports fan...........and you have literally whined on TSW about us criticizing your fellow Mass-hole sports fans. As if there is any difference between the fans of the Patriots/Celtics/Bruins/Red Sox. There ain't. So don't try to act like you are captain Buffalo you traitor. 😂
  12. And anyone telling Bills fans not to talk ***** about the worst team in pro sports over the last decade better be a season ticket holder to the Sabres. Douchebags who don't put their money where their mouth is but act like they are the Sabres #1 fan are as useless as t!ts on a bull.
  13. Before you get too carried away with the idea that Alien is the most ripped off film of all time..........it might never have been made if the original screen adaptation of Dune in the mid-70's had actually been produced. Alien was the best of the movies that were heavily influenced by the years of work on Dune and it's sprawling storyboards. It stole the soul of Dune and delivered a great but only bite-sized movie experience that Dune couldn't be reduced down to. I like Aliens a lot too but the rest have missed the mark. The Prometheus movies had a lot of potential but somehow they blew it. Even Prometheus was still ripping off or paying homage to Gigers art for Dune though
  14. Didn't even know he was sick. RIP Conehead.
  15. Shields kept playing thru some pretty bad concussions. It was sad to watch. Couldn't believe he tried to play again after the last one but it's hard to quit.
  16. I agree with your point about overpaying for production at premium spots. You need it. They are really piling up some cap debt though. I hope Tua keeps it up and gets $40M plus as well and the Fish have to go Saints-mode. Injuries happen but you have to like the durability of the Bills at QB/LT/Edge versus what Miami has.
  17. Yeah I'm not concerned about Chubb. He's not elite.......he essentially replaces what they had had with Ogbah before he fell off a cliff this season. And at the expense of a first round pick that is of course cost controlled, important as they are really piling up some bad cap numbers. Worked out great for the Broncos..........his trade value with that fat, fully guaranteed 5th year option was zero last offseason. I hope Miami extends him in-season at the top of his market. Edit: See I missed the contract extension. Excellent. That's a lot of money invested in players with significant injury histories at LT and Pass Rusher.
  18. If winter is one of the few things that keep you living here you are probably addicted to feeling sorry for yourself.
  19. I'd put the over/under on how many times Hodgins will be riding waivers again in the next two seasons at 6. Surfs up.........headed to NJ
  20. In that 2020 season WC playoff game versus Indy he was the quickest, fastest player on the field. Gave the Bills defense fits. I rarely get moved by the play of a RB but he was explosive that day. He has been playing in exactly the WRONG offense for his skillset.
  21. Yeah I value those picks. I think the relative success rate they've had late in the draft is a reflection of Beane not drafting as needily on day 3. I think there is a tendency for teams to focus on the first round pick for months and then after the emotional conclusion of that quest get a little careless and needy on day 2. It's almost a Bills tradition at this point, regardless of GM. Their 2nd round track record in particular is terrible in seasons where they also have a first round pick. But they will have the opportunity to acquire more of those with trade backs for volume to fill pending roster vacancies. I could also see them trading some players they know they won't be able to extend a season early in coming offseasons. The way they do business will naturally have to change.
  22. Now don't categorize all fans that way...........I got home from the game Monday and I had a notification from screwball going by @MasterStrategist calling me out after McKenzie put up a spectacular 14 yards on two touches. Man that gameday thread is a den of idiocy. 😂 I am a known scoffer of RB impact and the idea of a RB being "another WR" on the field............but Nyheim Hines is electric and far more coordinated than the stiff, hard-handed Lil' Dummy. No, he's not a $10M/year slot receiver either but the price was right and he gives them more versatility and gets a rookie and hopefully McKenzie off the field on special teams. He's also just quicker and more elusive in pass routes than James Cook. Cook is closer to a volume carry RB than him. They are not redundant, IMO.
  23. Hodgins is also a cadaver. The bottom of their depth chart is like the bottom of the Bills depth chart. It's the top 2 receivers where they are different.
  24. I took a look at the standings last night and thought.........Nyheim Hines should be a cheap target. Always liked his explosiveness. Had a big game against the Bills in the 2020 playoffs.
  25. Oh so there isn't going to be an offseason with free agency and a draft this year?
