  1. I do think that the premium seats obviously draw a less rowdy and drunken crowd but there are lot's of young people there on the family tickets and it's hit and miss whether they are making any noise at all as well. Standing yes.......but a lotta' silent, blank stares even on big 3rd and 4th downs. Some people just can't produce in the moment, whether it's nerves or lack of intensity/investment in the game. I think this is the case everywhere..........even in a place like Seattle. It really doesn't take a majority of the crowd to be making noise for the crowd to be very loud.........but it would be nice. I can't understand why the crowd gets rowdier/louder per capita when there are less people there...........whether it's because only the more invested fans tend to be there in those situations or whatever........but it's a reality.
  2. Very few of the people who are standing on the sideline portions of the stands in the lower bowl are yelling loudly. That's the closest to the field and generally most impactful noise area aside from goal line plays. I'd say a good 50% are totally silent in the lead up to the opposing offensive snap. That's how few people it actually takes to make quite a bit of noise.......and it's why 6,000 mostly active fans were able to be sonically disruptive in the divisional playoff game against Baltimore. So I can't really buy the whole "I can be louder standing" argument.

  4. They've gotten A LOT of mileage out of Hyde. If it's close to a career threatening decision he should call it quits and retire to his beautiful home in San Diego(I believe) with his health and the bags of money. Won't be any surprise if they get a lot of attrition on defense in the next 18 months..........it's really hard to keep a defense healthy and together for as long as this back 7..........that's why Seattle won a SB as the youngest team in the NFL and the defense was shot just a few years later. Hopefully they can get everyone thru this season after all or at least the young backups continue to step up.
  5. Yeah you and @PromoTheRobot were fan-blamers...........the strangest of animals. When the team lost it was never the fault of the organization and the fans didn't deserve any better because they were a bunch of ingrates.
  6. Definitely felt like a continuation of the playoff game versus NE. Very loud, electric crowd for sure. Left the tailgate at 7:02(we actually had a bunch of people there who just rode up without tickets to watch the game on tv at the tailgate so the party never stopped there), we walked thru empty gate and watched the kickoff from inside the tunnel..........so it was no problem getting in. I never think "how could this be our team?" But perhaps some do. It felt a lot like the early 90's.......you expect to win.......the team dominates a lesser opponent and you celebrate. Fans did start leaving a little early but our group of 30 or so all stayed and tailgated well into the am........much of our lot did and we re-played the game on youtube tv.....and we all had to be at work in am but it was well worth it.
  7. Yeah the OP seems like he's got some Charlie in him.
  8. Judge blasts HR #60 to tie Babe Ruth to lead off 9th inning and then Stanton hits a GS to turn 8-4 deficit into 9-8 win. Magic # down to 10.
  9. I missed the Bills not being a SB contender from 2000-2020...........never missed the Bills losing and never will.........the pathetic 84'-85' seasons would have been enough losing for my lifetime. As Yankees fan my team recently clinched their 30th straight winning season........you don't even consider the possibility of a losing season anymore as a Yankees fan. So I suspect if the Bills string together a lot of winning seasons it will become the norm instead of something you fear will end soon and any pangs some of you have for losing football will be dispelled.
  10. Yeah I said the Bills weren't "ANY good". Ok, Shakes.
  11. I like that he called out Bobby Hart for being a bum last year..........it's refreshing to have a player on the team actually call it like it obviously was instead of protecting players and acting like the fans/media were out of line for criticizing said player. On the other hand, not sure teammates will care for his refreshing takes to the fans and media.
  12. Just don't turn the ball over and put 40 points on them. It's a home game. Any ol' DT should be able to elevate his game in the electric environment we will see Monday night. Run defense is about want-to and technique.
  13. I've seen you reference Crowder playing outside for a minority of snaps with the Jets..........but you do realize that there isn't a slot receiver on every snap. Correct? Crowder has played outside in 12, 21 etc.. because he's always been one of the two best receivers on each team he has been on.........until now. I do expect him to be the Bills first choice to play outside if boo-boo foot can't go but make no mistake, Crowder is and always has been viewed as a slot receiver.
  14. The Bills primary color is blue........the people whining about them wearing blue is And btw for THOSE d-bags who try to generate hate for the Bills great primary color (that I am typing this on now)..........smurfs weren't royal blue........they were powder blue like the Titans/Oilers use. Get your hate straight. Now the "grazer".........that is just a pathetic logo.......THAT is what should never be seen again.
  15. He injured the ankle in the 2020 season and was part of a really beat up/diminished receiving corps in KC in the AFCCG..........and then the injury unexpectedly lingered for the first 3 months of 2021.
  16. Boo-boo foot is back!
  17. Wasn't it the injury that was used to excuse Fitz for turning into a pumpkin mid-season in 2011?
  18. He was really good.........there wasn't any chance he was going to play football he was the 2nd overall pick in the MLB draft by a Phillies organization that was making a lot of good decisions and would go on to win a lot of games and go to a couple World Series and win one during his career. Unfortunately he got traded to the Mess and was on basically the worst team in sports for most of his career.
  19. The first time I remember the Bills using a CB on a TE was when Wade put the very undersized Antoine Winfield on Tony Gonzalez........and shut him down. Jimmy Graham basically went from "how do you stop this guy" to brought to a full stop by this tactic when he got sent to WR-weak Seattle. A good CB can shut down a TE easier than he can a top WR. This is why TE's don't get paid like receivers..........they are the icing on the cake in the passing game.
  20. Anky-wanky just need a little positive re-inforcement
  21. Yeah he is ALL IN on Trey Lance. I think he just expects Shanahan's QB-friendly system to negate the fact that the guy has barely played in any football games since HS.
  22. Yeah he may well return to his prior form for a couple seasons and then fall off a cliff..........baseball players age out fast now..........but if he breaks the AL HR record that will be a long lasting feather in the Yankees cap such that they should just pay the man. 7 years $350M sounds crazy but he's been worth every cent of that to the organization while playing on his pre-free deals. He's been the most popular player in the game most of the time that he's been in the league.
  23. Aaron Judge is simply having a GREAT season. 57 home runs thru 142 team games. Babe Ruth hit his old AL record 60 HR in 154 team games. Somehow he is creeping up on a batting title and a possible 60+ HR Triple Crown.
  24. Gettlenutz was a Giants/Parcells guy. And John Fox. That's how Henning ended up there. Beane was never a scout and had very little personnel experience prior to getting hired by the Bills. He might have scouted coffee shops. A director of football ops is a guy who makes sure all kind of organizational details get taken care of. His last couple years in Carolina he got to dabble in talent evaluation.
  25. I don't worry at all about things that are out of the organization's control. A player retiring is just that. But it's not casual entertainment to me..........quite the opposite........few on here put more effort into understanding the product and what to expect than I do........starting from following college recruiting closely all the way up to details about the Bills organization itself that some find to be minutia(but aren't). And when you have a good understanding of the potential/likely/reasonable outcomes.........you aren't paralyzed with emotion when adversity related to organizational choices/decisions happen. As you may have noticed it really irritates the blindfolded thumb-suckers on here when I discuss things like roster weaknesses during the offseason...........but the reality is THAT is the time to debate these things. Once the season starts it's often too late for the team to do much about it.
