Yeah. Screw the value chart. Just another meaningless statistic without context. -

They gave up a first. A much better one. -

Getting him still has to be considered a longshot, assuming you are still interested 1 year from now. -

Dont like it. Prolly late first next year, rate it a weak 2nd today and a third to drop 17 with whats left on the board. Needed another player IMO. -

Bears didn't disclose the player to SF. Wonder if the 49rs are pi$$ed. -
Potential Gillislee Replacement

Johnny two times? I got your point the first time. Even before. If it makes you feel any better looks like your boy could even be an upgrade to Tolbert. -

Yeah, staying lower to the ground does make a lot of sense mechanically and conceptually but there are many notable exceptions to the rule. And as a comparison to Perine wasn't Campbell fairly upright (except when he was about to send somebody not named Tatum into an alternate universe) and what about the Nigerian Nightmare. -
Because he's gonna be better than Julius Peppers (according to C. Casserly). But I dont think you need worry. I think he's gone before 10 even if 2 QBs are taken. And we seem to like D-Linemen with bum shoulders anyway. Seriously I have not heard that Allen was likely to drop for health related issues. Maybe I'm just not up to date tho.

Kyle Sloter QB - Bills interested?
starrymessenger replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I defer to you if you have followed this kid but he looks to me to be more dud than a stud. Looks the part, like Hack, but from the gametape snippett the execution seems slow (contrary to whats in the title). -

Eric Dickerson was the most upright runner I've ever seen. -

If you're a DB gettin in his way is a recipe for a bad day. -
Kyle Sloter QB - Bills interested?
starrymessenger replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing wrong with that HL reel. Good footwork, accurate, stands tall under pressure and maintains vision. Arm strength??? Wish somebody would produce an offsetting Lowlight reel to complement these hghlights. Nothing wrong with the MAC either IMO. -
Bills decline to match Gillislee offer sheet
starrymessenger replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will be interested to see how Mike makes out in NE. Dont see him in the mould of what I imagine the prototypical #1 NE RB is like - a tough inside runner capable of getting the short yardage when needed but athletic enuf to break out on other downs. Mike and Blount are very different backs. Do their guards pull a lot or can they if required. Are their WRs and D Allen good blockers? -
Andy Benoit on Bills and draft
starrymessenger replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But is Wilson a pocket passer? I don't think I'd call him that. But he can operate in and around the pocket and he is dangerous as a passer (not just as a runner) outside the pocket when thats the play call or when the play has broken down. He sees more of the field well, throws with anticipation while maintaining accuracy, understands when and knows how to throw with touch and with a little extra when its called for, has outstanding situational and spatial awareness. He is just a much more talented passer. Tyrod does not work the pocket well, does not throw well on the run (unfortunately, because he is tremendously mobile), has poor field vision and spatial awareness, often lacks touch when it is called for. He has a nice long ball but thats about the only time he is consistently in sync with a moving target and thats probably because its the easiest throw to make and requires the least of those aptitudes that good nfl passers posses. I hope that he can turn the corner but I don't think it is going to happen. You have to be naturally endowed with the skills required to be a good passer and as athletically blessed as he is those aptitudes, which to me are more mental/cerebral than physical, are somewhat dead in him. -

Also hoping he can turn the corner. One is seduced into thinking he can because he is such a great athlete. I'm hoping but not holding my breath. -

Right. People like to say, with some justification, that putting up points has not been the problem, but just imagine how productive the O could be if we had an NFL calibre passer (especially if we pick a stud WR #10). How much more competitive we would be when trying to come from behind, especially late in games (we are so easy to defend in those situations). -
Pats sign Gillislee to offer sheet
starrymessenger replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking at it more from the Pats point of view for a moment, I find their interest in MG as a foil to/replacement for Blount interesting. I would never doubt their ability to improvise and get the best out of the talent at their disposal but while MG and LB are both capable of contributing to a NFL offence they are very different backs. -
WR Mike Williams Visited Bills today
starrymessenger replied to Billy Zabka's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He needs to improve his route running as many have said and his game will benefit. But there are few, very very few college players, no matter how talented, who come to the next level as finished products. They are all WIP. I think he is a safe pick. -

He's not Calvin Johnson, but who is. He's not slow at all for a big man. More likely he will be having DBs for lunch than the other way round. -
Christian McCaffrey - Darkhorse pick
starrymessenger replied to Ittakestime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, now that you mention it, if they go in that direction. Fournette is in a different class tho than say Brandon Jacobs. -

Jacksonville is a team with many holes to fill. Bortles has hardly shown himself to be franchise material. So if the Jags pick LF at 4 are they making a stupid mistake? Should they be thinking QB instead? Obviously its a team sport so no single elite player, not even a QB, is going to singlehandedly turn a franchise around if too many of the other cogs are substandard or the coaching is lacking. Do you think Brady would have fared as well on the Bills? Sure you can find very good running backs later in a draft but there is a big difference between a very good running back and a bona fide franchise back who can carry a team a long way as far as his contribution is concerned. I look forward to seeing Fournette destroy those lightweight DBs in the AFC South.
