  1. Well if NE not being as good as we assumed/feared they would be is the other side of KC being better than we hoped they would be I'll take it. Plus seeing Kraft, Belly, Brady etc...publicly humiliated before an audience of tens of millions gathered to celebrate how wonderful they are supposed to be is a bonus that will last a lifetime.
  2. L. Bell, Latavius Murray, Mike Tolbert, DeMarco Murray, etc... all would likely have converted. Mike's a good player and can run inside and outside the tackles but he's not really a short yardage back, like not really at all. Actually Blount doesn't have a stellar conversion percentage either but its much better on fourth down than on third down conversions. I don't think the Pats have a short yardage back on their roster.
  3. Dont know what stats you are looking at. How 'bout L. Bell? Mike got stuffed twice tonight.
  4. Mike is great but never saw him a short yardage back. Bill is learning he is not L. Blount.
  5. Yeah on the ground with his back to Tommy.
  6. At least he's good in zone...oh wait...
  7. Don't forget Bobby April. Love me some STms.
  8. Deon Lacey waived by Dolphins claimed by Bills. Cover 2 LB I actually like this move. Guy is in his prime, developed very nicely into one of the best in the CFL and continues to get better. Great ST (I know I know another one). I think this guy will get playing time and more of it as the season progresses.
  9. I've worked under a new boss who methodically purged the group he inherited and which had some pretty talented and experienced people. Wanted his own guys/hires. He turned out to be a disaster and eventually got fired. Truth was he was paranoid and psychologically fragile. Felt he could only trust people who owed their jobs to him. I'm sure others have also seen this type before. Sure hope thats not what is going on here because if it is we will be shipping them out and starting all over again in three years.
  10. I'm not surprised he made the cut. He is their developmental guy for now at least. From what I saw of him in ps he seemed to be doing pretty much everything coach was asking him to do i.e. not too much. Didn't really stretch the field and of course is raw but was pretty accurate underneath, hit the seams a couple of times and showed off his arm strength on a few out patterns and sideline throws when he was out of options and under pressure. Sure it was against lower level competition but I think he still looked ok. I realize he's a longshot but I'm pulling for the kid and not just because of the comp. Likeable young man.
  11. He's 5'10"- 200. Supposed to be fast but only ran a 4.45. Not exactly a burner. I guess they mean football fast lol.
  12. I would agree with you if we were in a Roman/Lynn scheme. Though of course we haven't seen all of it I suspect that Peterman is a better fit for a WC offence or even a variant thereof if thats where we land (which appears to be the case). And these coaches seem to be all about scheme suitability. If Tyrod can't cut it he will sit imo.
  13. I hear you but I did say "at times". Like most talented youngsters consistency is the key objective. But I think I can see why Jeremiah was so high on him.
  14. A healthy Chad Pennington is his ceiling imo. Don't know if he will get there. DK has really looked good at times in Cleveland. Has shown accuracy and has thrown with anticipation not to mention athleticism/arm strength.
  15. Peterman's numbers don't jump off the page in a positive way, but I have to wonder if Dak would have looked any better as a raw rook behind this line and with this receiver corps, or, alternatively how much better Peterman would have looked in his first camp behind Dallas's line and with Dez, Whitten etc... I've never had any confidence in Tyrod being able to run a WC offence or any variant thereof. So my view and prediction has pretty much always been that if healthy Tyrod starts the year, proves he can't do it, fans clamour for Peterman and he starts after or around the bye. This also gives the kid at least a chance to get ready (or readier than if he started game 1). Year is going to be a write off in terms of ability to compete now imo. Rebuild is already in progress. Looking forward to next year's draft. Would like another 3rd (bye Holmes).
  16. I get it but presumably there is pressure, sometimes lots of it in big college conferences. If the guy just can't deal with the mental aspect then he's not going to make it. How does one reliably project whether a college kicker will have the necessary psychological makeup. Does the difficulty in assessing this account for the fact that kickers, no matter how good in college, are typically late round or undrafted guys?
  17. If you can kick the ball in college what is it that stops you from doing it in the pros. I must be missing some fine points of the pro kicking game.
  18. Agree. Hahahahaha...
  19. Watkins is an elite talent but I agree with you. The new brain trust will make or break based on how they draft, especially next year. I liked this years draft so lets just say I'm optimistic.
  20. I'm more concerned with wanting to see a little more zip on some intermediate throws than the long ball. I look forward to seeing more of him in preseason. I think he should be given more snaps/playing time than Yates. In Yates you pretty much know what you have. With NP you don't know yet imo, but it behooves you to find out.
  21. He is just a prospect. What is the thing that you see as so definitely limiting his development? Lack of prototypical physique? EJ, Jamarcus and lots of others had that. What worries me is I thought I saw him staring down his receivers. even if its one read and pull the trigger you cant do that and survive on Sundays.
  22. So 26, is Peterman still TJ Yates with less experience?Looks to me like he has a chance to be the # 1 backup entering the regular season or soon after. I was impressed with him. I would like to see a little more arm strength on certain throws but we all know thats a work in progress. What he showed was consistent with his tape, which is not bad imo. I like his mobility and how he keeps his head up scanning the field on broken plays. Thought he hung in the pocket pretty well when the protection was not completely lacking (which it was on 2 or 3 snaps). Accuracy was ok if a little spotty at times. His mates dropped two passes that were perfectly thrown and that would have extended drives or resulted in scores. To me the best thing is that he seems capable of throwing with anticipation. He can visualize the development of the action. Processing (progressions) remains a big question mark. Against starting calibre defenders a couple of his throws would probably have been picked off. But above the shoulders its pretty clear that he possesses at least some of the attributes of a QB. He's got a long way to go obviously but I wouldn't hurry to any firm conclusions just yet. He might turn out to be more than a career backup. I see him right now as just a notch below JG in NE when that came into the league and everybody sees Jimmy as potential starting material. Do you think Goff or Lynch are that far ahead of NP right now? For sure the Bills are setting up to pick a franchise prospect next year but wouldn't it be nice if they could use that draft capital on other position players. Could really jump start the rebuild.
  23. 26 I've filed this one away for future reference.
