  1. You are exactly right. If you look at Rapp's pick of Tua last year Claypool ran a slow, lazy, round at the stem out route. That's what he has been doing for years now. It's like he decided that there was no way he was going to play every down with the urgency that is required at this level of play. He totally lazed out. I'm not sure I'd want him anywhere near our young WRs/TE.
  2. You’ve persuaded me. He’s gonna have a breakout year. As far as traits are concerned he’s pretty much exactly what the Bills are looking for. Would be great if he’s had his come to Jesus moment. He was never going to get many reps in Miami but he also didn’t make the most of them.
  3. Dude he’s an idiot. You cant fix stupid. He needs a new brain. Worse thing is that he makes the roster (because we are desperate and he is way more talented than the competition) because you just know he will F up again.
  4. Had you asked me to name the one player who McD would definitely not tolerate even for a nano second I would have said Claypool. Not the upgrade to the WR room I was hoping to see.
  5. The Penn rook will be returning kicks imo. I think he's going to be good. Hamler was a 4.3s guy. Wonder if he still is after the injuries.
  6. I haven’t checked out what next year’s WR class looks like. Generally, especially WRs, even rooks who you hit on still need a couple of years development. This year was a little unusual in that probably the top three guys are plug and play. I think they will have to pay a FA this year or next to try and make the best use of Allen’s window. Yes I can certainly see where SF would want another year with Aiyuk if they are not extending him. I do think that Beane will sign a pricey FA WR this year or next. Of course maybe Brady and Josh perform miracles but i’m not counting on it.
  7. I think the Bills are one player away from being strong championship contenders. That player is B. Aiyuk imo. If the Chiefs or Philly thought that they were one player away and the guy was out there I think they would aggressively pursue him. The Bills need a proven veteran WR. Where are they going to get him? It won't be in the draft. So it's got to be a FA. Why wait until next year. Do it now if you can make it work after Tre's number comes off.. It would be very expensive both contractually and in next year's draft pick(s) but it won't be cheaper next year. Of course maybe the Bills don't feel that they are one player away given the number of changes on both sides of the ball. That would perhaps explain why they would rather look to give new players time to settle into the system and their roles in it. But even then a guy like Aiyuk would be better in 2025 having already played a year in the O. Maybe SF is really not interested in moving Aiyuk, regardless of the offer. They may want another year with him as their WR draft picks settle in. If he is available though I wouldn't be surprised if Beane made a move for him. I think Beane's got it in him to do that.
  8. I'm good with Coleman. Never say never (or almost) but I very much doubt he fails. The floor imo is a better version of Gabe. The ceiling is Alshon Jeffery or better.
  9. Unless a trade is made for a #1 receiver (Aiyuk) I would agree that 2024 is being written off as developmental and 2025 is being targeted as the year to compete. I've been thinking about how KC was able to find a way to compete while even in transition. Kudos to Reid and the DC. That's what great teams/administrations can do. I very much doubt that KC were sitting on their hands. Not in their DNA. I think you get a different mindset from the Bills brass than you get in KC or in Philly. We will see how that works out.
  10. Not my choice but I have exactly no problem with the Coleman pick. He is a polarizing player but I think he is a promising prospect. Of course there is the risk that attaches to almost all rookies but I really doubt he busts. To me he is either a better version of Gabe or another Alshon Jeffery (let’s hope for the latter).
  11. Not blaming Beane because they would prolly have gotten him anyway but Worthy is a good get for KC. I see Worthy as a guy who is a better receiver than he is often given credit for and if there is anyone who can develop him its Andy Reid.
  12. Yeah. High character guy. Much better than AD lol.
  13. he will be 29 when his rookie deal is done. Plus he’s got like 800,000 carries in college. So he is one and done but he might well be good in the meantime.
  14. I do blame Diggs. After the draft we’d be a much better team if he had been a better teammate.
  15. Chris Ballard said they did deep due diligence on Mitchell and while he is “young” and “has a chip on his shoulder” he’s a fine young man etc…He said Mitchell was a victim of a smear campaign where scouts said things about him but were unwilling to put their names on the record. Of course those things might still be true. In team building the Bills are just not interested in dealing with a player who has special needs and requires some support. Maybe that makes sense. Maybe not. AD landed in a great spot for him. We will see how he makes out. At least AR wont leave 300 yards of production off AD’s stats, like what happened at Texas.
  16. Apparently this guy is only good at one thing. Fortunately that one thing is rushing the passer.
  17. Bills seem to be the only team that think he is versatile. For most observers hes just a center only. I think once he starts at center he becomes a fixture. And I think it happens this year.
  18. I think they can probably manage it financially in June if they can entice SF with picks (we are loaded next year). This WR room needs a #1, despite what Beane says. It also needs a vet to lead.
  19. He has a very clear path, like a number of Beane’s picks this year. . Backup slot corner, punt returner, other special team assignments.
  20. If the plan is to trade for Aiyuk when Tre’s cap number comes off I will consider this Beane’s second best draft. Aiyuk would make the Bills a serious contender.
  21. I don't think they ever intended to draft more than one WR. Their mindset is probably that using their first pick on one was already a big deal. That WR room does not inspire confidence. There is talent but I have to wonder where the leadership is coming from. Coleman is a rookie and unlikely to be a difference maker in 2024. So I don't know if much has been done to help Josh out (especially after losing an elite wideout).
