  1. He is not the only guy saying that. Us fans mostly want a blue chip rookie WR but Daniel Jeremiah’s first mock has us taking an interior defensive line guy. DJ correctly called Spiller at 9 back in the day.
  2. Just spitballin but it occurred to me that maybe Brady wanted to diversify the passing offence and have it less Diggs centric, given that he was also often double covered. Without questioning Diggs’ competitive instincts maybe that was something he just had trouble adjusting to. I did get flamed for that opinion though.
  3. He has great hands and is a talented route runner. Also very shifty. I’m just repeating what i’ve seen more than once in his pre combine evals. Some say he’s a day 2 guy but I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes early day 3 given the strength of the class.
  4. Agreed. If they are going to do something with Hamler I’d rather they took a chance on someone like UFA Darnell Mooney who is bigger and just as fast. He also already has a 1000 yard season with the Bears, unlike Hamler, and he gets separation. Only 26. Personally id like a vet to go with the rook they will draft. Unlike the other guys in FA he’d be very affordable I think given he still has something to prove after a down 2023. I dont think he is a McD kind of guy. Plus he will be expensive given his proven ability when he feels like playing.
  5. To me he is second tier in this class. Haven’t seen him other than highlights though. Apparently he does not get much in the way of separation and in college ranks he is good at getting contested balls but you have to wonder whether that translates to the pros given his size. He is definitely not a burner either. Will likely run in the 4.5s somewhere. Also questions regarding his release off the line against the step up in athleticism he will face with pro DBs. I would pass.
  6. Yeah I was wondering what was going on with that. Didn’t have to wait too long for the answer. Some posters knew it was a fake punt. If they knew I have to think the Chiefs knew as well.
  7. The guys who were supposed to open the hole for, wait for it, Hamlin, were a fullback and a couple of linebackers. Not surprised they couldn't get it done.
  8. When Hyde came over I was stoked. Was surprised GB let him go. Poyer is a star picked up off the scrap heap. As usual with DBs Bills seemed to benefit from good inside info. Sort of like Bernard that way.
  9. How do you feel about Brian Thomas? Looks like just what the doctor ordered and pre-combine at least one might expect the Bills to have a shot. Of course he might be a big riser by draft day.
  10. I get that he's very fast and good route runner/hands, also that he could play as a boundary receiver in college, but I had him as a slot guy next level and that appears to be Shakir's role going forward.
  11. Appreciate what both were able to accomplish here. Much respect for them.
  12. Don't know what's up with Diggs so can only speculate. I would find it hard to believe that his physical ability has deteriorated so suddenly. So either he has been dealing with some sort of injury or maybe he's figured out that there is more to life than football, especially if you're rich. The off the wall personality stuff doesn't really concern me. Many very good WRs are flakes.
  13. Evans would be a great signing but he's a legend in TB and I suspect pretty much a fixture there. We shall see. And he's got enough gas left in the tank to command a very good payday. I very much like the idea of signing a veteran player though and drafting a WR in round 1. Even in a strong class like this one there are probably only three or four guys who by draft day are regarded as guaranteed immediate impact players (MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Franklin?) and I would expect them all to be gone before 28. An aggressive move up would probably be necessary to land one and the opportunity might well not even materialize. But the class is not only very strong but also deep. There are going to be prospects pegged as late second/third round guys and later who in a more normal class would be rated higher. I wouldn't put it past the Bills brain trust given their track record and inclinations to wait and look to shore up positions of need on the other side of the ball with early picks. Not what I'd like them to do but I wouldn't be surprised.
  14. I visit other boards. There are good and bad posters everywhere but over all the level of informed comment is better here than what I've seen elsewhere.
  15. Burrow alone will count for what 55 mil? They have Chase coming up and didn't they also pay Hendrickson and others? I guess for 2024 they could fit him in under the cap if they tag him but I have to wonder if he would play under it. He wants a long term deal and that does not appear to be in the cards with the Bengals.
  16. I don't think they will have the cap space to tag him. I think he will be with another team. Unfortunately not the Bills.
  17. Agreed. That's why I'd like to supplement a (high) draft pick with a veteran free agent (assuming Gabe is gone). We can't afford Higgins or Ridley (who McD wouldn't want for other reasons). Pickings look slim. Maybe Mooney on an incentive laden deal. Has had a 1000 yard season. Still only 26. At least we could probably afford him. Maybe he would flourish with Josh. A lot different passing game than in Chicago.
  18. DK didn't go in the first two rounds either. That was a mistake they won't make again. I expect Leggett to go late first early second.
  19. Coach has to know if his player can execute what he's being asked to do. Hamlin? Really? I'm not surprised at the result. He is also responsible for ensuring the players are disciplined enough to get the job done before he calls it. This was a completely undisciplined fiasco where the intention was telegraphed. Gee maybe they didn't practice it enuf. Oh and maybe the defensive set should inform as to the viability of the call. What was it eight or nine guys in the box? Of course the coach is not on the field but that doesn't take him off the hook. If it did they would all have championship rings because I'm pretty sure most NFL coaches know enuf to tell their players exactly what they need to do. So good execution is not just a player responsibility.
  20. Milano and Douglas are playmakers imo. Bernard is a playmaker. Johnson. There are plenty of Guys who can make plays.
  21. Nabors is the second best receiver in this WR heavy draft. He will be long gone and probably well out of trade up range.
  22. Yes he may be there at 28. Thing is he would be a rook and therefore in need of development. I would add 2 WRs to the starting lineup but I'd like to get a vet as well as a rook. Darnell Mooney is an UFA. Ran a 4.38. Gets separation all day. Had a down 2023 with nagging injury and an offence that really couldn't make the best of his talent in the passing game. Sure give me Tee Higgins but I don't think we have the space for that. Mooney is a comparable type receiver to Franklin and you can probably sign him to an incentive laden affordable deal. Hes 26 yrs old. Then I'd draft another in the first. The top five guys are likely gone by 28 but you might have a shot at Xavier Leggett, maybe even with a small move up the board. If he's there I'd run to the podium. You'd prolly have to do a Mike Ditke/Ricky Williams to get him.
  23. I'd target Darnell Mooney in FA and take another wideout in the first round of the draft, maybe Xavier Leggett. I'd even move up if a blue chipper fell. This years WR draft is full of potential #1s but you are risking it if you wait till the later rounds even if there may be some promising guys there too.
  24. I'd say the Dan Fouts Chargers or the Warren Moon Oilers because Josh is more like those guys than like Rivers imo. Both HOF guys who never saw a championship game.
  25. Unlike some I've got nothing against Mahomes. He's obviously a great QB and frankly seems a pretty good stand up guy. I think Ravens beat him though and im good with that because I don't want to turbo charge Nick Wright.
