Steve O replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives

The Bills Have Filed to Trademark "Respect the Process"
Steve O replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like this much more. In troubled years of the next generation, many times Bills games were the only non-confrontational time we had. And if the opposite happens and McDermott and/or Beane move on, they can't use it with a new team. -
My thoughts then and now? Back in the 70's and 80's I loved boxing, but I wasn't very proud of the fact that I loved to watch something so barbaric. Now I just don't watch it.

yup...you can tell the high maintenance posters, they order daiquiris. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The Biggest Whiffs In Buffalo Bills History
Steve O replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess you missed my point. At least we got something productive by letting him go. Mistake to do it certainly. On the level of Mike Williams, spending 2 firsts on Watkins when we could have stood pat and had OBJ or Aaron Donald, Maybin instead of Orakpo, etc. etc? I don't think so. -
The Biggest Whiffs In Buffalo Bills History
Steve O replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, the bills did re-sign him. Did not renegotiate after that. We did pick up Eric Wood with the pick that we traded him for, so it wasn't as big a mistake as others on the list. -
WWII Vet wants 100 letters for 100th birthday
Steve O replied to boyst's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My father, a WWII vet himself, just turned 100 in January. Sent out 40 invitations in the hopes that maybe 10-20 people would show up and he would get a bunch more cards. Ended up with 70 people showing up. Fortunately all responded so it wasn't a surprise...I'm coming and bringing so and so. Mind you Mom and Dad still in the family home, and this was January. Fortunately one of the few semi warm days in January, might have reached high 30's that day. Was able to put a couple propane heaters on the porch and accommodate everyone. Anyways, I'm sure if Nick would send out a few invitations, Ike would get a lot of visitors. Apparently 100 is a big deal. -
What was the worst Bills’ trade of all time?
Steve O replied to Sky Diver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Years later, when the USFL was folding and Kelly was coming to the NFL, there was talk of Oakland being a place he would like to play. Al Davis said it would never happen because "Ralph Wilson still hasn't forgiven me for Daryl Lamonica" Part of a draft special showed the Seattle war room before that the Russell Wilson pick. It showed Buffalo trading up and everyone in the Seattle war room was convinced they had lost out on Wilson because it was common knowledge the Bills liked him. Painful to watch even years after the pick. -
Me too. I don't even know if EDM is a musical group or recreational drug.

He was a coaching intern for Clemson last year. Don't know about now. -
Why Jake Locker walked away from football.

It's great that he realized how to make 12M last a lifetime. How often do you hear about athletes who have made way more than that being broke? Peerless Price, Mike Tyson, Allen Iverson, TO, Christian Laettner just off the top of my head. I've always thought that I can see every million up to the 5 making a difference in my life. After that it would just be making a difference in persons I know lives. -

Josh Allen will be the best QB in draft
Steve O replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've had enough of QB's with accuracy issues "...Area code accuracy -- short throws are often low or wide, preventing receivers from making a play after the catch. Deep ball accuracy is uneven as well..." http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/ej-manuel?id=2539228 That being said, EJ may have been the best quarterback to come out of the 2013 draft -

Video of Kelly being drafted by bills
Steve O replied to Bills4life1924's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Check out the TD pass he makes for Houston starting at 3:42 of the video. No wonder that league didn't last, stands are almost empty. Compare that with the game day crowd of what I'm guessing was his first home game for the Bills starting at 4:15. -
A friend suggested I fly to NC as the flight it is only $60 round trip. Told her I don't fly. She told me my chances of dying in a car crash are astronomically higher than dying in a plane crash. I told her duh...just finished telling you I don't fly, if course my chances of dying in a car crash are higher. Unless the plane crashes into me my chances of dying in a plane crash are virtually zero. Some people.

Immediately thought of this when I saw the topic. Loved it. "Bears derive their name from a football team in Chicago"

What is your biggest Bills FA mistake
Steve O replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah he was going to be my pick, since there was only two pages thought I would check to see if anyone else had picked him. If memory serves, we signed Panos, free agent from the Bears. Bears signed Ruben Brown, free agent from the Bills. Basically a trade of guards. Thought he was going to be really good. -
As I was reading this I remembered a college friend (back in the 70's) that was in constant pain after an operation. After a couple weeks they finally did an x-ray and saw a clamp hadn't been removed.

Eric has been a class act ever since arriving in Buffalo. Hope something can be worked out.
