  1. I've liked the strategy of going for the two in these situations for a long time. I have a Twitter list of Bills reporters that I follow during games (from WGR, TBN, Athletic, D&C,....) and the consensus in that group was also mostly to go for two
  2. The Harp is for Bills games typically. They have an agreement to show the Bills and all fans show up. I'm not sure there's any place that Bills fans hang out en masse outside of watching the games together. I would NOT expect that Bills people are going to head into the Harp from Foxboro after the game. Outside of Sunday Bills games its a Boston bar through and through....
  3. This is the first year we've had the same OC and DC for two consecutive years since 2010-11 under Chan Gailey. If they can keep that going the Bills haven't had the same OC and DC for three consecutive years since 1998-2000 under Wade Phillips. I think it's brought great consistency to the team and we're seeing the benefits now. That can only further improve next year! Here's to hoping that neither Daboll nor Frazier get offered a head coaching position.
  4. I'll continue to refer to JoeB's All-22 analysis that comes out each week. Hughes is the #4 ranked player over the course of the year behind Singletary, T. White and Milano. In the grading system the top 8 players are clustered very tightly. It isn't until #9 that there's a bit of a drop-off Singletary (3.29), T. White, Milano, Hughes, Dawkins, J. Brown, Hyde, Oliver (3.21)...thats the top group then Taron Johnson (3.09) a bit lower. It on a 0 (F) to 4.0 (A) scale just like in school
  5. Wasn't it just 3-4 weeks ago that he was a bust??
  6. Don't forget Nick O'Leary
  7. I grew up in Buffalo/Tonawanda in the '70s and have been a lifelong fan! I live in Virginia and have been with my wife for 15 years. They've never had a good season the whole time she's known me. She finally asked me a few years ago.... why don't you just choose a new team? Obviously that's not in the cards and yesterday was vindication! I'm so happy that they won their way in on the first opportunity rather than backing in through other team's losses. Onward!
  8. I guess that's where we have to believe in "the process". He's still on the team in year 3, which wouldn't be the case if he had Dareus-itis
  9. Only teams in playoff picture would make a claim. We're in the middle of the pack on that front. Its not like the Dolphins will pick him up..... well, maybe the Jets?!?
  10. Would be pretty awesome on 3rd downs!
  11. This is pretty awesome. I assume this can be seen in the stadium, live and its not just CGI added to the onscreen view??
  12. I think the OP's point is in connection to the fact that the most recent Ravens game, pretty big game, didn't sell out. They've been running at 95% capacity, which in the middle of the league despite putting up their best season in a long time. The Ravens game amounted to a good proxy for a home playoff game http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance/_/sort/homePct I was at the Eagles game in Week 7, which also was a pretty big match-up given where they were at the time. The game did not sell out (also poor weather) and probably a 1/4 of the crowd were Eagles fans
  13. Ralph Wilson and Marv as GM with their "cash to the cap" approach that basically said they were content with being mediocre
  14. A bunch of people were 2 weeks ago...
  15. I think playing to 45 is unrealistic. He retires. Why on earth would he want to tarnish his image trying to stay 1-2 seasons longer? Montana w/ KC, Favre w/ Jets, Thurman w/ Dolphins and so many other examples.
  16. If we lost 3 of 4 in December and limped into the playoffs at 10-6, it would be very disappointing. We'd be going in on a low and likely lose in the first round. The only positive to say on the year would be that "at least we made the playoffs"... no thanks at this stage! Let's focus on beating Ravens!
  17. Lets not forget about McKenzie, who I think is a total 'x' factor. They always seem to find a way to do something interesting with him
  18. Let's take another stab at this silliness.... AFC Would NOT -- Ravens, Texans, Chiefs Not Sure -- Jets, Browns WOULD -- Broncos, Pats, Steelers, Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Chargers, Bengals, Dolphins, Raiders NFC Would NOT -- Packers, 49ers, Cardinals, Seahawks Not Sure -- Cowboys, Eagles WOULD -- Giants, Vikings, Saints, Redskins, Bears, Bucs, Falcons, Panthers, Lions Pats, Vikings and Saints would want to wait until after this year is complete
  19. I had never really thought about the Broncos taking a QB in that draft, but in hindsight, of all people, Elway should have seen some of himself in Allen
  20. This is one of my favorite clips and this exchange happened back in April. I'm sure Kiper was doing plenty of smirking last night! He also is one of the only analysts that thought Allen should be taken #1 overall
  21. The exact quote that Joe tweeted was "Lets pump the brakes on the Ford v. Von Miller love". As a reporter, I'm sure he may also look at this forum and analyze social media posts. This forum had a thread right after the game title "Put Down the Pitchforks (Specifically those sharpened for Cody Ford)" which focused on how Ford handled Miller. And I'm sure Twitter had plenty of commentary declaring Ford's battles against Miller a rousing success. So as he promotes his story, which is normal for a reporter, he highlighted what he found on the All-22 putting the match-up into perspective. That's all it is, I believe. The subsequent article does not disparage Ford, it simply points out that he didn't single-handedly shut down Miller. There was lots of help. As I've stated in replies above, there's nothing wrong with that. But the reporters' analysis is helpful in understanding where Ford is at this point in his rookie season.
  22. Cover1 is outstanding work!! However, he picks and chooses what he finds interesting to showcase and then does an outstanding job at it. He doesn't grade each player, each week over the course of the season. As you point out all this is just another input to shape our understanding of the team and its players. As has been stated above I don't like it when one of us points to the JoeB analysis as a counterpoint to "xxxx sucks" and then the response to that is "JoeB sucks" so that doesn't count
  23. BTW, his headline on Ford is: Ford was solid but primarily received a ton of help with Von Miller
