Wow, if you're so down on the Bills why even be here lol? Beane hasnt brought in anyone of substance? Do we really need to list all the players? Perhaps doing a google search for our team roster might help, since in the short time he's been here our whole roster has turned over. All while shedding the past bloated contracts & crafting a talented enough roster to here's where i cough... to where we MAKE THE PLAYOFFS! And yeah 50 mil for Star is alot of money, especially when he's not a flashy pass rusher to put up a lot of sacks. But what he will do is occupy the opponents offensive line, allowing our new mobile linebacking crew to go ham. We were spending more on Dareus & dude wasnt even there, so for me its an upgrade. As far as JP or BJH, Josh Allen doesnt appear to be anything like those guys, but from what it sounds like you'll be rooting for him to. I know it was a long drought but so far so good with McBeane & Co. Sure we have a ways to go but i think they've done more positive things than negative. And considering where our franchise has been, that was no easy task. I for one think theres reason to be optimistic. So GO BILLS!

Yep, in my opinion it just goes to show the faith & trust in the process we have from the owners on down. Theyre making decisions with the long term in view, as opposed to what we have been doing the past 20 some odd years. While the success of our Bills in 2018 is up in the air, 2019 & beyond should be pretty freaking exciting with how much cap space we'll have. We can actually go after some prime time free agents. T.O. in 2019 anyone? GO BILLS!

Buffalo 66 is twenty years old this week
brianthomas replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a personal story to tell about an incident that occurred during the filming of this flick. I used to work at a restaurant on Elmwood Ave that for the life of me i cant recall the name because its been so long. But there was a fire there years ago & it shut down. It was on the corner of Elmwood & Breckenridge where Cecilia's is now. It was a higher end place, but still moderately priced, great food tho... man old age sucks because its killing me i cant recall the name haha. Anyways one night Christina Ricci & Angelica Huston were dining there. During filming a bunch of people working on the movie would come thru out the week. Long story short, they had been drinking lots of alcohol the whole night. A waiter walks up to their table to check on them & he heard the sound of water spilling. He mentions it to the table, trying to figure out what was going on. Right then Christina shuffles her chair back from the table, looks down to reveal her dress & says: "im Christina Ricci & I dont have to use a bathroom if i dont want to." Yes thats right, she urinated on the floor in the middle of the dining room. The waiter told the manager & obviously all the wait staff were taken back by it, but decided not to make a big scene out of it because she was only 18 years old at the time, and didn't want to get in trouble for serving her. The mess was cleaned up & the actresses & crew got up to leave. While they were leaving, Angelic Huston took this large glass ashtray off the table, put it in her purse where everyone could see what she was doing & loudly proclaimed that this $15 ashtray was the best thing about Buffalo. On top of all of this, they only left a $5 tip to the waiter on a bill that was at least $300 due to all the alcohol they bought. I swear to God & everything Bills related that the above story is 100% true. Crazy story tho, one i've never forgotten, aside from the name of the restaurant haha. Anyways just thought i'd share my personal story of when Buffalo '66 was being filmed here in town. I hope i didn't break any rules by sharing it. GO BILLS! -
Chris Ivory's Role In The Running Game?
brianthomas replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Having 2 of the top 5 oldest backs in the NFL surely has to be of some concern. If having old rb's was a great thing, other teams would be doing it. When our Buffalo Bills are out on an island, standing apart from the rest of the league, it makes me nervous thats for sure. I hated the signing of Tolbert last year, i hated the Ivory pickup too. I really hope Ivory plays well, even just adequate will do. If all Ivory does is score TD"s from the goal line i'll be happy. Ivory's contract isn't that crazy, but i still would think we couldve found a better player for the price. Either way i'll root for him to succeed & will hope for the best, just like any Bills fan should do. GO BILLS! -
How to Watch NFL Game Film: Micah Hyde INT vs Atlanta

Sammy Watkins classes it up on his way out of LA
brianthomas replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watkins didn't say anything 'bad' in the article, but his "reasons" for wanting to play in KC versus LA were pretty much just a cover for him going where the money is. And thats fine, get everything you can while you can, but i think thats where the articles writer was coming from. Me personally, when Watkins was here, i was super excited to have him after watching him play at Clemson, but we all know how that turned out here. For Sammys sake, i really hope he has a solid year, otherwise man, talk about paying a ton of money to someone just based on their potential. -
Thoughts about the Bills Official Website
brianthomas replied to Billsfanatixs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah all 3 of the voting options are positive. I don't really see the contrast between the choices so i'll choose not to vote since none of the options accurately or even remotely describe my opinion on the site. guess im confused too haha -
Got a FredEx jersey off Facebook Marketplace
brianthomas replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i wouldnt wear a Poz jersery, or a Watkins jersey for that matter haha. But i do wear my T.O. jersey & Fitzpatrick jersey from time to time. T.O. is well, T.O. & Fitzy not only was the best qb we've had during the drought years (even though thats depressing) but he also was one tough dude. I am hopeful that Allen is the best of the bunch & all of us will be buying his jerseys in the future GO BILLS! -
Tolbert last year was facepalm level horrible. This Ivory signing feels the same way imo. Not only is his production meh, but the contract isnt exactly cheap either. Surely we could've rolled with a rookie rb in the draft to fill that spot or a cheaper option in free agency. We now have 2 of the top 5 oldest running backs in the NFL, while also eating up a larger percentage of our cap than other teams. I really hope i'm wrong on Ivory & he has a productive year for our Bills, because we really need him to. LeSean needs him to. But i just don't get what screamed out loud about Ivorys play for our staff to say hey, theres are guy, lets give him $5 million, he makes us a better team... There really wasnt a better option than Chris freakin Ivory? lol This staff has made a lot of good pickups on defense, but on offense i think their track record hasn't been as solid. Fingers crossed it all comes together

Could also say: The Bills QB position has been a debacle for years, i do not know how an NFL team can let it be this bad for so long. We could probably insert a few different positions for areas in which the Bills have sorely needed improvement. You cant fix years worth of issues over night. We finally have a staff that appears to be committed to building this team thru the draft so we can have continued success & be challenging for Superbowls. I'd much rather they roll with what they have now & solidify the WR group next year, then over pay for a retread WR to appease a segment of the fan base short term. Splashy signings sound great, but those are the types of moves/mistakes past teams have made. Moves that were made for the now instead of the future & helped create a debacle that we know here as The Drought. I know its a long offseason but we really have no choice but to trust the process. If our GM sees a WR worth picking up once roster cuts are underway, i'm sure he'll make the move. But I don't see us investing 7-8 Mil in one of these big name wideouts when the goal for this year was to fix our cap situation & continue forward with our rebuild. Jmo of course GO BILLS

"Josh Allen is blowing people away" - Chris Simms
brianthomas replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What Simms had to say all sounds good to me. He said Allen is supposedly 'wowwing everyone on all sorts of levels'. If thats true then we all are in store for one helluva player. Just like everyone I can't wait for the season to start & to see what this team looks like. One thing that made me facepalm a bit tho with the podcast is the one guy bringing up the stupid tweets again. I've never really considered Allens tweets to be anything really serious, but i do hate how often these media types like to throw it out there, just in the hopes for some controversy or something. Of course after Allen wins his 6th Superbowl they won't even remember those tweets. Anyways, thanks for sharing & GO BILLS! -
its a LONG offseason... shoot yesterday we were commenting on a simulated game from Madden between the Browns & our Bills. Tomorrow the thread might be about how our 2 quarterbacks share the same initials but in reverse (AJ & JA) & how thats proof that these qb's are polar opposites of one another. I can't wait for the preseason to start... GO BILLS!

Mayfield vs Allen (madden simulation)
brianthomas replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well this video settles it. Josh Allen will be a better qb than Mayfield. The Bills are better than the Browns (which any Bills fan already knew before) Can we say SuperBowl already just from this simulation? I think we can! GO BILLS! -
Rookie Lowell Lotulelei retiring from football
brianthomas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember seeing Lotulelei's name being thrown around here a lot prior to the Draft, as a player many thought the Bills should pursue. After hearing this news of his retirement, I'm glad the Bills didn't pick him up. To be honest I even double checked to make sure we didn't sign him, as a rookie announcing his early retirement is quite the Billsy thing to happen to a team. -
This dude has only caught 47 passes over 5 seasons. Was on a 3 year contract paying $10 Million & he requested to be released after being asked to take a pay cut. Given his production, what makes this guy think he's worth more than what he was being paid? With his stat line he'd be lucky now to be added as a depth player somewhere. I know McBeane & Co. have a tendency to acquire Carolina has beens, but this is 1 guy I'd like them to stay away from. Only way I'd be okay with it is if they brought him in for the league minimum on a try out contract. Other than that this guy is a hard NO imo. GO BILLS!

And now the plan is a lot clearer...
brianthomas replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well at the time the Phillips pick made a lot of sense. Best player available at a position of need. Like other posters have mentioned, if this were the Bills of the past, they would've picked a player slated to go in the 6th round or something. It's refreshing seeing their plan come into shape. Yes you can say we were lucky he fell to us, but we also were patient. They didnt panic by trading more draft capital to move up. They stayed where they were & waited, & were rewarded by him falling to us. -
And now the plan is a lot clearer...
brianthomas replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Phillips pick was so obvious that 95 other teams passed on him before we took him. As far as you saying the Bills are lucky, well whats that saying? Good teams create their own luck? One could say that thats what McBeane have been doing -

GDT: 2018 Draft Day 2 - Rounds 2 and 3
brianthomas replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
its insane how many picks the Browns have.... Meanwhile, the Bills wont pick for a few hours yet haha To be honest I fully expect us to trade back into the 2nd round, I just don't know how they'll get there -
Yep, the Bills also brought him in for a predraft visit back in 2017. Here's his player profile from the team site, including a pdf breakdown of his measurables & stats http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/marcus-sayles/3d797459-a017-4a0c-babd-2e3fa0b066fa/ Seems like he'd be a good depth signing. A tad undersized but he does have some skill

Honestly, does anyone actually miss the Jills?
brianthomas replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems most are glad theyre gone... me on the other hand I have mixed feelings. I know alot of them took part in charitable activities around the community, shedding light on causes or giving support to those who were in need. I suppose one could say they served as local ambassadors for the team as well in some ways. On game day we would see them doing their thing on the sidelines, but any other day of the week they were just as active in the community. Perhaps just doing another job or something more. For me this topic is a little harder since I used to know a few Jills & I know how dedicated to the team & fan base they were. The ones i knew were as passionate about the Bills as most of us here. Possibly even more so since they arguably couldve spent more of their actual life doing work for the team & franchise... It is what it is i guess
