The #1 defense in 2020 had no opt outs and was one of the lowest in roster turnover (no "starters" changed from 2019). All of their coaches returned.

I live in Texas and there's a lot of misinformation about what's happening down here. All the "covid rules" are still in effect pretty much everywhere. The only thing that changed down here is the state politicians figured they could score points by removing the state restrictions damn well knowing that nothing would change and all the restrictions would be still be in place.

I think the pre-camp stuff should be virtual. DeMaurice Smith is one of the worst things to happen to the NFL. He is a joke and thinks he can go negotiate things then turn around and try to backdoor things he negotiated by suing the league or using the pandemic to get permanent changes that he previously didn't negotiate with the league on. I suspect it will right around there. I think the Bills might push the term past 5 years at the cost of more per year if they can so they can take advantage of restructuring rules. I'd say 5 years, $264 million (44 per) with around $200 guaranteed. That would bring the total deal to 7 years, 294 Million, 42 per which feels about right to me and gives the Bills a lot of flexibility over the next two years to restructure his deal to handle salary cap oddities while it gets back to normal.

the whole defense, especially the front 7 sucked last season. Not an excuse for any individual guy, but also there were obvious factors involved that went beyond his own play that affected him. That being said, it's year 3 now. There's no more excuses. You either show you can play at a high level regardless of circumstances around you or you put your house on the market. I do hope the coaches make it easier for him though.

Any player that I believe embellishes an injury or other circumstance/condition to try to force the franchise's hand. Players who try to hold the organizations feet to the fire with something unscrupulous should be ejected into the bottom of an outhouse.
