  1. hopefully Baker falls to #12!!
  2. not a terrible option. It's possible that Mayfield falls to 12, which would be fantastic, IMO. Allen needs to sit behind a vet. I see the Steelers, Saints, etc. taking him .
  3. (1) whose mock draft is this? (2) was it made after drinking too much Irish Ale yesterday? (3) Take Rosen, then get Landry (BC) if you want pass rush, or get Evans, McGinchey, or Vea. All top guys at position of need. (4) If the FO is keyed in on Rudolph (which was the rumor before the trade-up), I don't like it, but I'd trade back from 12 and get another 1st rounder, get Rudolph and the guys mentioned in #3. I agree. It's like saying to Eli we aren't trying to win, we basically want you to groom a backup QB. Even if Barkley is gone, they need OG, DL, etc. I see them trading back to get more picks. They can still be in "win-now" mode. I think one or both are there at 12. Likely Allen is there. In that case, I try to trade down if Rosen or Darnold are also gone (likely). Or, take Davenport and L. Jackson at 22.
  4. I jsut remember most of us thought "who is this Poyer guy at Safety." So I trust the Bills FO and their NFL scouts. A lot more hits than misses. And this is a low cost depth option.
  5. I can see us not trading up and taking a QB at 12. Although getting in front of Denver for Mayfield would be nice. I can hope the Jets take Allen instead of Rosen or Mayfield. But I think they are taking Rosen.
  6. I think "overpay" in terms of how much a player is costing against the cap. I don't think anyone is like (at least not me when I use "overpay") WOW, that guy is making X mill a year. Go pay a Dr. or lawyer that instead"
  7. Hey everyone: Poz just retired. Let's get him out of retirement !
  8. good question. I'm guessing FA and mid-round draft pick? Who, no clue.
  9. It's Cincy. I'm thinking like 7 per
  10. Here are some FA ILB's. Yeah, I would have liked Williamson also, and not happy a division rival got him! http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018ILB.php Bowman would be great, likely out of price range. D. Johnson would be interesting--not sure how much is left in the tank, but likely cut due to salary by KC. Hodges and Bostic seem like guys that could play better in a different situation.
  11. Would have liked to keep him, but likely Cincy doing Cincy things, likely way overpaying. I think we replace him in the draft.
  12. T. Prior would be nice. A less known free agent, Eli Rodgers would also be nice. Bring back D. Thompson. Plays bigger than he is and has some speed. In terms of draft, Chark from LSU.
  13. I'll "trust the process," but I want Rosen or Mayfield. I think Bean has a QB or 2 in mind and they will work to get that guy. If that guy is not available for whatever reason, I'd be fine with Vea or a LB and going w/ McCarron (seems like a lot of due diligence was done on him) and a QB later in the draft. Plus, we can always trade 2019 picks for Foles post-draft. Ideally, we get a QB in the top of the 1st round, and a DT like Tim Settle later.
  14. Not at all. All I'm saying is stick to the board. Don't chase a QB you don't have highly ranked because you "need a QB." They go after Rosen or Mayfield I'll be happy. No offense taken man! That's what this board is here for, to discuss and debate. Nothing else to do this time of year in terms of pre-draft process. I like McBean, whoever he gets I want to succeed. I just don't want him to "panic" into taking someone. And I don't get the idea that he is that type of GM.
  15. Yeah he plays OG as well. I agree with you we need a G/C. Here is info on Ragnow. I've watched neither, so I'm trying to read-up on the available centers now. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2018-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-frank-ragnow-is-the-top-center-in-this-class/ That said, this guy has an interesting take on his other top-guys.
  16. I think we both agree in going after "top prospects," identifying those guys is difficult. For me, they are Rosen and Mayfield. Darnold would be okay at 12. Allen, no way. I'd have White, Falk and Rudolph above him on my draft board, IMO.
  17. Not fear-based at all. Reality-based. You can't sell the farm to get a QB with a lot of question marks. Look at Washington, sold-out for RG3. How'd that end up. The guy they took in the 4th that year--Cousins-- is now the highest paid QB in the league. When teams get cute by "reaching", usually fails. Takes more balls, IMO, to stick by your draft board and not overpay. I'm not saying they shouldn't move up, but they shouldn't panic (e.x. "oh my gosh, Rosen and Mayfield are gone, lets go crazy after Darnold or Allen). You trade a lot of draft picks away, you can't build a "team." You build a "team" like the Eagles did, and you can win the SB with an average guy. And Wentz was on a tear, but he had a great team around him. Or you can have Cousins, and no team, because you sold-out like Washington. Only QB's that I think are worth "going after" are Rosen or Mayfield. Mayfield could even be there at 12.
  18. Ben was a much better prospect than Allen. But I will be very disappointed if we grab Allen because he has a "big arm." This is like grabbing a WR just because he has a fast 40 time, IMO.
  19. or they could overpay and end up with someone like David Carr, Leftwich, Collins, Harrington, etc. While watching Smith or Edwards dominate for the next 10 years. I think they have 2 QB's potentially they would "overpay" for (Rosen, Mayfield hopefully). The rest they wont'.
  20. If it's Josh Allen, then PASS. I'd take LB Smith or Edwards over him. Then grab Mike White or Falk in the 2nd or 3rd.
  21. dude, I'm not a Boomer. FYI. I'm the oldest of the Millennial bracket.
  22. Would you take Price or Ragnow? I think Ragnow allowed 0 sacks the last 2 years. That said, I've only read about both these guys. Also, we need another RB. We have GREAT compliments to Shady, but we need a guy who can carry the load if Shady goes down. (Freeman from Oregon, Ballage AZ State, Walton Miami, Penny SD State, Pettway Auburn are all guys who may be available RD. 3 or later.
  23. I love this. I still think we pickup a RB in a later round if one we like falls (Freeman Oregon, the guy from Miami). Or get someone in UDFA. I still have little confidence that any of these guys can adequately replace Shady if he gets hurt. GREAT compliment parts, but can one of these guys play 15 games as the starter??
  24. Hey Ice Bowl. Nice pickup of Graham. I think the rumor is we are sending a 2nd for Rodgers I like the McCarron signing a lot. Could be the next backup turned star (Jimmy G. in San Fran). Or a career backup to whomever we draft. Ideally we end up with 2 great QB's. he's great when motivated. I have a feeling he will be more motivated in GB than w/ the Jets.
