  1. we didn't have much this offseason. We were fishing for reclamation projects/easy to get/low cost guys. Hyde and Poyer were nice additions last year.
  2. I'm not umbrellaing anything. This regime also made the playoffs last year, but some seem to cherry-pick the bad decisions. Frazier had a good track record as a D-coordinator, and I don't think it was a bad decision to start Peterman--who had a great preseason, over a rookie QB, behind an abysmal O-line, in the first game. I'd rather have a coach like McD that makes corrections and moves forward than a stubborn coach who sticks by his initial decisions hoping to be proven right at some point.
  3. today's officiating crew was a total joke. They botched the ejection there, botched our fumble recovery, and called a phantom lining up in the neutral zone on us on a Chargers 3rd down (it was a false start). agree 100%. Did not lose because of them, but they were AWFUL. It looked like they were all timid and/or had no clue what was going on sometimes.
  4. I'm in. Can't hurt to see what he can do. Also, get Josh Gordon!
  5. Edmunds will be fine. Dude is 20 years old, calling the D plays, and Rivers and Co. have a great offense that attacked him. He'll adjust. I actually think this will be like the Chargers game. Although I fear that our O-line will again create issues for us.
  6. exactly. Just pull yourself out of the game and say Bush or whoever is outplaying me today.
  7. Your throwing a bunch of stuff at the wall hoping something sticks. Peterman played MUCH better in preseason than Allen. He started game 1. When it was clear that he is a preseason/practice player, he switched to Allen. That's called GOOD decision making. The D was better in the second half because McD took-over play calling. Good, that's leadership, and the D was better as a result. Davis quitting has nothing to do with this. Read Davis' twitter. Also, Bean, not McD got Davis. And Davis was terrible in preseason and perhaps told he wasn't starting the 2nd half. The anti-McD narrative is hilarious. This is a rebuilding year.
  8. well good then. The second half was much better defensively. Perhaps Davis was upset that Frazier had the play calling duties yanked. Didn't Davis force a fumble in the 1st half? And the TD on him was a perfectly thrown ball by Rivers.
  9. Fraser was benched? MCD's D looked okay today. And the D was much better in the 2nd half without Davis. Perhaps Davis was told he wouldn't be starting the 2nd half, and he threw a temper tantrum--even though he had an okay-good 1st half.
  10. Teller (6’5/314) made 43 starts on the Hokies’ line, manning left guard and allowing only five QB pressures (PFF) without a sack in 2017. And he isn't that good??? He's better than what we have. What do we have to lose by starting him. Nothing. We have turnstiles at guard currently.
  11. 1. Mahomes does not have the Bills O-line 2. Mahomes does not have our WR's, and has one of the best in the NFL in T. Hill. 3. Mahomes got to sit for a year and learn from a vet. We tried that, didn't work. Vet was so bad he got cut. I think Allen looks like Mahomes next year, esp. if we have a better O-line and WR talent.
  12. he had some WIDE OPEN WR's and some passes that were simply terrible throws that cost the receiver the ability for yards after the catch. He wasn't great today by any means. But he did show potential. He was mobile in the pocket, showed the ability to run for yards when needed, and didn't look rattled even though the O-line was so bad he got sacked on a freaking handoff. Bottom Line: he has the tools, but he needs to read the entire field and not try to riffle every throw/have more "touch" on certain throws.
  13. Good observation. be interested to see how Solder does this year. That O-line got away with a ton of holding. Light was a beast, but I'm not sold on Solder yet. might depend on the offensive scheme. I'd favor Thomas slightly. It sucked he was stuck in that wasteland his entire carrer.
  14. def watch the QB's also. But this list allows you to go, "oh, good QB and good OL in the same game." See if any O-line play gets called-out by the announcers.
  15. Get him. Instantly the best WR on the team, even if we only have him for a game or something. Bryant is back in Oakland, league perhaps taking its time with suspensions.
  16. to be fair to Beane, JuJu is in an explosive offense with Big Ben, and has A. Brown on the other side of him, and two capable TE's, and the best O-line in football. Kupp is good, but also has a lot going for him. Not sure how much better either are with the Bills.
  17. aha. he could likely play both ways!!! I'm def taking Bosa if he is there. O-line likely in 2nd and 3rd. As another poster mentioned, why get a QB then not protect him. It's like buying a new shiny car and not maintaining it. Eventually you'll ruin your investment/spend.
  18. Great post. I agree with it. I almost wonder if the only help they would bring in is O-line (so as to not get Allen killed) and let the remainder of the season ride-out. Lots of appealing FA targets next year that can fill a bunch of other holes. I'm excited for this weekend. I think Allen has a good game.
  19. not sure he will even have time to hold onto the ball too long,. He'll be sacked well before "too long" with this O-line!
  20. totally agree. There needs to be a safety valve or two. I like the OP's idea of two RB's. One left, one right, and perahps a TE safety valve. Speaking of TE's, perhaps we can trade Clay to Tenn. He is worthless in this offense for whatever reason. I think Croom nad Thomas will have better seasons.
  21. I like this idea. He looked decent in Ben's absence, and can likely share some of what Ben does with Allen--who has similar QB traits to Ben (big , pocket mobile, strong arm)
  22. haha. not if they want to win. ! Just posted this for people wondering who the top ranked OL are, because FA looks very thin. that could be good, because some amazing DL help available in the first.
  23. not because of Mack. Because of freaking A. Rodgers.
  24. I agree. Or, because we have a ton of money in FA, go after Bridgewater. Bridgewater, Allen and Finley anyone? (assuming Allen struggles, which is the OP's premise. If not, Allen and Finley sound good to me)
  25. yeah yeah i have no idea who to watch in college, guess I'll be trying to see if any line-play sticks out, which is incredibly hard.
