  1. yeah, I see the draft being done w/o a audience this year, or even remotely. Although the draft picks could still be announced over the phone. If it's done online, I'm sure the Pats** are trying to hack it so that Tu or Burrow automatically goes to them!
  2. this isn't about discounting warnings. Last time I checked, FA did not involve large crowd gatherings--or the touching of many microphones. The draft does not need to involve this either. Closing training facilities also seems overdone. Just keep the players together in a hotel, people's houses, and work out together, almost a "team quarantine" similar to training camp but w/o as many people. Of course, i'd be voluntary.
  3. this is nonsensical. Delaying FA and the draft seems unnecessary. Close off the draft to the public, do it by teleconference, etc. FA can easily be done remotely, in fact, it likely already is. Not ideal, but in this situation, an NFL delay seems more like a money grab than not (will allow people to be at the draft, etc).
  4. I like the rule changes. Sure, the onside alternative needs a few tweaks (give the offense the ball wherever the play ends if they convert); give the D the ball at the 40 if the offense fails. But otherwise, most of the rule changes appear positive. I'd love to see this. Perhaps 4th and 20 is better. They could take the conversation rate for a 3rd and whatever distance and match it to the historical onside kick recovery rate to find the proper distance.
  5. I agree. Taking a OT every so often high is always a good idea. Having a rookie contract contributor, Dawkins, Ford at G, perhaps a FA G, is a good line. After having a QB on a rookie deal, the best deal is a great OT on a rookie deal, IMO. I think Cleveland had a good combine if I recall. He may go in the 2nd.
  6. Thanks. He seems to be going high on mock drafts, and he's one of the names I'm not familiar with.
  7. This is good for 2 reasons. 1, he can replace Spain on a multi-year (3 year?) deal. Second, it puts another good guard in FA, which could increase our odds of keeping Spain.
  8. WHAT???!!!! top 20. wow. You live in LA right, what are your thoughts on LSU LB Queen?
  9. wow, impressive. those are good numbers in the Big 10 against some big OL guys and big RB's. sometimes the draft dosen't go the way you want. in which case, I restart. Great job sticking it out. The WR's are somewhat underwhelming, but an OT is always a good choice and you got a good one, Kvon Wallace is good, Dillon good complement to singletary. Overall, the offense still improves, and the D gets good depth and a potential starting LB and decent Edge
  10. I like the 2nd one more. Claypool and Pittman, wow. And Willis at 22! I know nothing about Baun. is his MLB, OLB, ??
  11. I don't expect any of these guys to start. So, PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kidding. all of these guys are good backups. Long looked decent when pressed into service last year and is a great backup to have. Get the backups done now so you don't overpay for them later. I expect we draft an OT, and perhaps get one in FA. Levi is a borderline starter prior to his injury. A great backup. I also expect a CB drafted (and we got Norman). We can still get Johnson back. Foster is pure depth. If he gets back to where he was in 2018 that is a HUGE positive. He's a #2 WR with that type of year--well, that type of 2nd half of 2018, and would be our 4th. I think the FO has seen some good things from him in the offseason to keep him.
  12. 1. Yes, I would take JA above Dak. Does anyone think Dak gets us to the playoffs last year? 2. I never said guys on the tail end of a rookie deal should be getting more than Cousins. I'm saying Cousins is overpaid, and it's killing Minn's cap situation.
  13. Here is mine from today. I got a top 5 OT and DL. Happy with that. Then got 2 very good WR's. Hill could be a stud Edge, or a bust. Also doubt he is there in the 6th, but whatever. 22: R1P22 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA 54: R2P22 DL NEVILLE GALLIMORE OKLAHOMA 86: R3P22 RB CAM AKERS FSU 125: R4P22 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA 155: R5P9 WR ANTONIO GANDY-GOLDEN LIBERTY 167: R5P21 CB LAVERT HILL MICHIGAN 188: R6P9 EDGE ALEX HIGHSMITH CHARLOTTE 201: R6P22 S ALOHI GILMAN NOTRE DAME 207: R6P28 EDGE TREVON HILL MIAMI
  14. at some point QB pay has to come back to earth. Otherwise, it will become increasingly difficult to win with a 2nd contract QB. I mean, Kirk is entering yr. 3 in Minn and still looks overpaid, and is wrecking cap havoc on Minn. As to 1, I put Josh in a category of "can carry a team." I'd put Josh over Dak in ranking QB's. And I'm not a blind JA fanboy. He needs to improve accuracy (drops aside), and leading WR's open. But Josh has the game-winning "it" ability that Dak does not.
  15. Dak is an elite game-manager. I don't see him carrying a team the way Mahomes, Brees, Brady, Rodgers, or even Allen can. Nothing wrong with that, but he needs an elite OL, RB, and WR's. Paying him this much money is somewhat crazy. On the other hand, perhaps Dallas feels they can address the other areas in the draft. It is hard to hit on a QB like Dak in the draft. I like the Kirk comparison. Both very good QB's making elite-level money.
  16. Shaq to me is the guy you want as a DE #2. Stout against the run, and can get some pressure (Phil Hansen). We need a Bruce on the other side. We need more sacks, etc. In terms of interior line, I agree with the poster that said paying slightly more for Reader would be better than getting Phillips back. Reader is a jackknife (can play all over), solid against the run, and can get some pressure. Perfect guy next to Oliver. And interior pressure if better than outside pressure, and I like how the FO seems to be focusing on that.
  17. true, and a good point, but, Tre should be covering the other teams WR1, whereas Josh will get WR2 most likely. But yeah, he will def see more passes than Tre. You're insane to be throwing it in Tre's direction. well, Josh had a stopover in Washington, so there's that!
  18. I think we pick at 22. I think there will be an impact player there that is high on our board. It might be something surprising like an OL, DL (interior), CB/S, but I wouldn't be disappointed as long as we get a guy the Bills think can be pro-bowl level. That's the key in Rd. 1 for me. If not, trade down and go nuts in Rd. 2. Heck, take two WR (Mims, and Jefferson?)
  19. as long as this is not our "big" contract of the FA period then I like it. low risk, potentially high reward. If this makes Bean go cheap on other FA's, then I'll hate it. We still need to go after Hooper and an Edge rusher at a bare minimum.
  20. same. Robbie can stretch the field. He’s also likely low cost in a low. My fav receiver is Hooper, but he’s a TE
  21. I’d be fine trading up in 2nd. Go BPA in first then trade up and he’s likely BPA.
  22. No wonder Rivers was like “I’m out.” Wait, this is for the Rams.
  23. this is okay, but the Bills need elite talent as other's have noted. It depends on if Matos lasts till 34. I would not trade down unless Matos or another DE we like is high on the list. I think Bryan Edwards is the "sleeper" WR in this draft. I think the point is a "premier guy" is likely available after Rd. 1. I'd go DE/ then do what it takes to grab Mims from Baylor.
  24. trade back into 2nd to get him. first 2nd round pick is too high, esp. if someone like Mims is around (unlikely)
  25. ok, this thread is ridiculous. And not the OP's post, but the reactions to it. We all know we need to improve the WR position. The OP suggests a unique way to improve the position. The responses have largely been overly derogatory. Some have made good points (Beasley is a safety blanket for JA, loves it here, and would be a culture killer to trade him); others act like we could never replace Beasley and/or have no need for a bigger WR who can stretch the field because we have Brown. Would I make this trade, no, but people, quit piling on the OP as if he suggested trading away JA for Peterman.
