Of course he wants to win. It's just not as important to him. I don't agree about the Cowboys of the mid 90's. Those guys cared about winning. Aikmen, Smith and Irvin had a deep desire to win, along with many on that defense like Haley. There is a difference between thinking you're great and putting yourself above the team because you think you're greater than the team. How many Cowboys said they carried the team?

Players signed one year deals last year because they were worried about getting jobs with the tight cap space. Now, the cap has not gone up much and their stuck in the same boat. Most teams don't have alot of cap space and players realise this and want to be working this year so they sign lower one year deals.

I agree with you that Levy screwed things up, but I still don't agree on how Peters and his agent handled things. It seems to me that Peters really struggled when he got to Philly in the beginning. I also think he's already positioning himself for the next contract. Do you reeally believe that he carried his team, like he said? Yes, football players have short careers and money is important, but teams don't win with a team full of guys like that. A team needs guys who have competive juices who want to win. Peters is saying he's 100% now, but didn't Merrimen say that too? That's a tough injury to rebound from.

Wood is the guy I would rather have right now. Yes, both those guys belong to the team who pays them. And I'm glad the Bills are not paying a whiner who sits out becaise the team "is losing anyway". I doubt that Peters is a real businessman, lol. Maybe his agent is. I wouldn't give him that much credit.

Some one said he was far away the best, which is what I argued against. I never tried to say he was not very good.Obviously he's very good. In my opinion, we did however, do very well in that trade, based on who we got and Peter's attitute. Also Peters suffered an achilles injury which is very difficult to come back from and be the same player he once was. Yes, Wood has been injured, but not an injury he can't fully recover from. Peters was one of the best on 2012, I give you that, but we'll see if he can get back to that level.

We all know that first team all pro does not make him the best Left tackle in the league.Joe thomas was better. I have no problem with you calling him a good or even great left tackle. But to try and say he was far and away the best in the league is ridiculous. I can find numerous football sources that list the best left tackles of 2011 and he's not even in the top 5. You want to make him the greatest left tackle to ever play the game because you have an agenda. The Bills drafted Wood with that pock. That's a pretty good trade off for a selfish , me first player

I don't agree with this. He was not the best LT in the NFL prior to his injury. He gave up 11.5 sacks in 2008. How is that the best LT in the NFL?

I believe he did say what would have excited him. I liked your post, but the last part where you ask how can you not be enthused is a bit silly. Thirteen years of ineptitute with every year bringing false hope. They have done almost nothing in free agency and don't hav ea franchise quarterback. Their defense has been awful.
