  1. Doesn't this happen when any athlete starts thinking too much? Same issue with EJ.
  2. that's a line-up I would really get excited about. our new OC just has too many question marks.
  3. I hope you're right. It's just hard to imagine that we whiffed so badly on both picks, two guys who were All-American's on top 10 college football teams. Or was the Bills scouting department and front office totally fooled by the big sexy bodies they were looking at? Did they ever really evaluate the skills, the tools, the measurable, etc? I agree, I do think the weight is an issue. Doug wanted big lineman, and that's what he got. But big does not equal good. There has to be some raw ability there. Let's hope better coaching and better conditioning will improve both. Even if just one pans out, we will be in a better shape (literally and figuratively) on the online.
  4. Why? He seemed to be a very average player in our new OC's system there, what makes anyone think he would be better here under the same guy & system.
  5. In many ways, I don;t see Roman as much different than Hackett. I sure hope, but the reviews froi his work in SF are not too different than Hackett's here.
  6. And go get Chase Daniels
  7. So, three big questions: 1 - Will Sanchez come with him? 2 - Will Schwartz stay? 3 - OC? Trestman?
  8. First thing he'd do? Fire Dareus!
  9. I nominate this for post of the year! And it's only day 5.
  10. If he would bring that offensive mindset (Kelly's, that is), I would be very excited. You know, all the things Marrone and Company said they were going to do.
  11. Isn't Jerry the same guy whom said they should cut Darius in the off-season. Just saying . . .
  12. I would like this if he is still there when the Bills pick. He also seems to be very athletic, moves well.
  13. Sad news, prayers for his family and friends
  14. I guess what you missed, is that he did address it four different ways. Now, three of those four did not work out, but he certainly went after it. I would say, if there is blame for this, I point to two areas: 1) Whomever on your scouting staff is evaluating o-line talent, because this was a great year for top quality linemen in the draft, and the Bills whiffed on not just one, but two draft picks. And the FA signed had many many questions marks. They must have convinced Whaley that he still had something, but that was bad advise. 2) Coaching. The exCoach who put so much time into the o-line really was not that good at o-line coaching at all—that is one problem partly solved. Yes, Whaley must own some of this, but if he has a flaw, it may be trusting too much in those who are supposed to know what they're doing. Here's hoping he can fix those problems, because in the long run, those will be more important to his success than everything else.
  15. This might be easier if Kim Pegula has Find Friends activated on her iPhone. As for the Chip Kelly thing, I have a feeling he was interviewing them more than the other. In which case, fully explains why it took him 15 minutes to figure out where he didn't want to go.
  16. I think if the right Head Coach is hired, Rex would love to make this D a good resume building stop for a year or two.
  17. Hackett will be working at a fast food restaurant this time next year. I suspect the front office insisted he be let go, and Doug didn't want to do it, becuase with Hackett, he (Dougie) still really controlled the offense. Getting a real OC would have taken him out of that process. Which ironically, would have been good for the team, and him. But arrogance and pride are very effective blinders.
  18. We have no idea where the Head Coaching search will end, but I think wherever it lands, Jim Swartz will not be the Bills DC any longer. He may become the next HC, but if he doesn't, I seriously doubt he stays on as DC. If he does become HC, or if we bring in someone else, either way, I would love to see REX RYAN as our next DC. I see so many positives to this, not the least of which is his success against the Patriots, and how motivated would he be to crush the Jets every time he faced them. Plus, he is a heck of a DC. Your thoughts . . .
  19. Thank you for your service to all of us, and all Americans. Enjoy that well deserved retirement.
  20. Didn't we kick the tires on Flynn last year, and I think he went to Oakland, and back to Green Bay since then? And he had a sin with Seattle, try-out with the Giants, and I think a few others in between. I guess he is worth a look, again???
  21. EJ Manuel . . . and he'll be voted a captain by his teammates
  22. There goes the winningest Bills QB in a decade . . . and now we start over. Who of us wouldn't retire at age 32 if we could? We wish you the best Uncle Rico, you gave us some good moments and some hope. THIS !!!!
