  1. They just announced that they're going with 'The Washington Football Team' for the foreseeable future.
  2. That's awesome. At first glance, he looks like Hugh Beaumont (i.e., 'Ward Cleaver') in that photo.
  3. Cam Newton?
  4. 'Tough', Albert? I'd argue that he's never led an NFL franchise... ? J-E-S-T...JEST! JEST!! JEST!!!
  5. Good question, Joe. Not sure. I used to be able to get Polish sausage at my Wegman's but hadn't seen it in a while so I asked the manager of their meat department and he said they weren't carrying it anymore. I was very disappointed. I used to work at the now defunct Bradlee's Department Store back in college. They were owned by the Stop & Shop companies.
  6. I think 'Overpriced Groceries Stadium' would have a nice ring to it... (I kid...I visit my Wegman's here in VA when I need some WNY essentials)
  7. This is where I am, as well, Kirby. I don't take much stock in predictions (good or bad) but the Josh Allen narrative is growing old. He has improved since coming into the league and if these prognosticators can't see that then they are just trying to hang onto their original 'he sucks and will always suck' view. They pretty much like everything else about the organization but because they don't think Allen is 'elite', that makes them average overall? Makes no sense. Philly is ranked sixth and despite the love Carson Wentz receives, he is far from a sure thing, let alone 'elite'. He can't even stay on the field.
  8. We have watched both seasons. Lots of twists and turns and we have enjoyed it. Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are great together. A show we never watched but always wanted to check out was 'Monk'. We are in Season 4 at the moment and really like it. Tony Shalhoub is a great actor. Loved him in 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel', another one we enjoyed immensely.
  9. Agreed. I was always taught that if somebody was considerate enough to think of me and take the time to send me a gift, money, etc that I could take the time to thank them for their kindness. My parents had me write thank you notes and I have instilled that in my sons, as well. My younger son just graduated from high school and he sent thank you notes to everyone who sent him money. Manners never go out of style and are not related to political affiliation despite a$$hat comments by such 'enlightened' posters as 'I am the egg man'.
  10. So I sing you to sleep after the lovin' With a song that I wrote yesterday And I hope that it's clear what the words And the music have to say It's so hard to explain all the things that I'm feeling Face to face I just seem to go dry But I love you so much that the sound Of your voice can make me high
  11. This situation might get all kinds of bizarre before it's over.
  12. Don't understand why they put David Caruso's pic up with that article. He really did not age well...
  13. Limping to the finish line...
  14. I can't believe you went there. That was a jerk move!
  15. Maybe Jon Bon Jovi will put a group together to buy them and move them to Toronto. I'm sure Jerruh and Kraft would back him...
  16. 'The Onion' was all over this way back in 2013. ?
  17. Did you hear the one about the dyslexic atheist? He didn't believe in dog.
  18. I laughed when I read that headline. Adding the word 'One' between 'Rubbed' and 'Out' makes for a hilariously different article. That would truly be persistence in the the face of adversity. ?
  19. It is owned by West Point (U.S. Army).
  20. My father turned 10 in December of 1952. It may have left an impression on him at the time. ?
  21. Haha! I still say both of those. Some others I love: "You can get it done. You can get it done. What's more, ya GOTTA get it done!" - Bills coach Lou Saban "I'll be back with the happy recap..." - The late, great Mets broadcaster Bob Murphy (after a victory) "Put it in the books!" - Current Mets broadcaster Howie Rose (after a victory) "How about that?!" - 'This Week In Baseball' host (and Yankees announcer) Mel Allen "I don't believe what I just saw!" - Legendary Cardinals broadcaster, Jack Buck, after Kirk Gibson's 1988 WS Game 1 winning HR And, of course, these... ? https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/sports-center---romano/n11217
  22. My brother and I met Bruce Smith at 'The Canadian Ballet' back in 1998. We were at a table near the front and Bruce walked in with his entourage who all, incredibly, made him look small. The manager came over and asked us if we would move for them and my brother said, "Tell Bruce to buy us a pitcher and we will." ?We moved and, a couple of minutes later, Bruce personally walked over to our table with a pitcher of beer in hand. He thanked us and said, "Y'all didn't need to move but thank you." We told him we were huge fans of his and the Bills and were up from RIchmond, VA to see the game. He broke into a big smile and chatted with us for a few. Before going back to his table, he gave us a parking pass for Sunday's game where the players park and exit the locker room after the game. The Bills (0-3) were playing the 49ers (3-0) that Sunday and we actually saw Rob Johnson best Steve Young. The Bills led 23-0 heading into the fourth quarter and had to sweat out a late 49ers rally for a 26-21 victory. We got to meet Bruce, see an exciting Bills win, and see several players after the game. Very cool experience.
