  1. I agree with you. I'm not assuming anything...I had that info in quotes because that's what had been reported. I don't believe Polanco is the "replacement" at 1B. If he is, something went horribly awry or Stearns has no plan. I simply refuse to believe that's the case. Polanco will only be the main 1B if there are bigger offensive pieces added, IMO. So far it's been an underwhelming Hot Stove but it's still early. And Vientos at 1B doesn't give me any more of a "warm and fuzzy" than Polanco.
  2. @Another Fan It was reported that Polanco is "expected to primarily play first base and DH". He primarily played DH and second base last year and he's played one game at first base in his 12-year MLB career. That's...one. Game. I guess from one game at first base in the last 12 years they are sure he's a better defender than Alonso? That's hardly analytics driven info. 🤷‍♂️
  3. Afterwards, McDermott angrily remarked, "I guess not everyone eats!" Feud on...
  4. I was going to say that Evan Roberts' only redeeming quality was that he was a Mets fan. 😂 I recall liking him years ago but, like I said, with every passing day I grow to despise him more and more. Same with Sal Licata who is a loudmouth idiot, too, but at least has a likable personality. If he had his way, he'd empty the Mets entire farm system for one year of Skubal who will then bolt for the Dodgers at the end of the year. Skubal is a great talent but I'd rather take my chances on him as a UFA next offseason. It costs you nothing but money. Anyway, just my two cents. I guess these stations feel that all New Yorkers like loud, brain dead, mouth breathers shouting into the void and telling anyone who will listen that NYC is the center of the universe and every other place sucks. How dare anyone leave for a "smaller market"! ARE THEY ALL IDIOTS??!!!
  5. I was just going to say, how many freaking chances are they going to give scumbag Craig Carton? He was let go because of his incarceration, they took him back and then he bolted for FS1, then FS1 sh!tcanned him and WFAN welcomes him back with open arms. I never found him funny or entertaining, just a loud annoying douche. But I guess the NYC market thrives on loud, obnoxious talking heads, Just not my cup of tea. I will give you that Benigno can be funny just because he is the perfect caricature of a long-suffering NYC sports fan. He was a former caller to WFAN who ended up getting a gig. He's representative of a lot of the mouth breathers who call in to those shows.
  6. @SinceThe70s @Gugny @Another Fan Decided to put on WFAN to hear what these losers are saying. Evan Roberts went on a tirade about them letting Diaz go despite the fact that Tiki Barber told him that Diaz chose the Dodgers over the Mets because the money was the same...but Roberts doesn't care about that. He hates Cohen right now, he hates Stearns right now, & he hates Diaz right now. Diaz is a good closer but let's not pretend he didn't have his issues over the years with the Mets. It's not like they let Mariano Rivera walk. The more I hear Roberts over the years, the more I can't stand him. He's a whiny POS, IMO. And he never misses a chance to take a shot at the Bills and McDermott. An envious, dopey NJ Jest fan. The only dumber, whinier POS on that station is the retired Joe Benigno who shows up for a weekly Monday appearance to talk Mets & NJ Jest. Hey Evan, he's gone. You and the horrendously mustachioed Benigno need to STFU and move on. Another thing that Roberts conveniently forgets is that the Mets signed Diaz to a 5-year, $102M contract which Diaz decided to opt out of so he could go grab a bigger bag elsewhere.
  7. I'm guessing there are discussions occurring for a front line starter and Pete and another relief pitcher are on the backburner. Nothing tangible or rumored, just my gut feeling.
  8. We'll find out more soon, I'm sure. What I've heard is that the Mets offered a similar deal...3 years, $66M "with wiggle room to go higher". Sounds like Diaz wanted LA. If so, good riddance. I hope the first time he blows a save at Citi-Field they troll his fragile @ss with the trumpets. Also heard the Mets are interested in Trevor McGill from Milwaukee. I hope that's true. He's nasty. If not him then maybe Suarez from the Padres but Williams can't be the only high leverage arm out of the pen. I do hope that Pete comes back. We'll see. He doesn't live far from Orlando and drove the 90 miles to meet with teams in person. The Orioles and Bosox have been linked to him. Regardless of what happens there, still a TON to do this offseason. Let's go, Stearns...we're getting antsy. LFGM!!!
  9. @SinceThe70s @Another Fan Welp, that dream is officially over...Diaz to the f'ing Dodgers for only $69M over 3 years. I don't know how the Mets couldn't or wouldn't beat that unless Diaz feels he's got a better shot at a World Series ring with LA. This is one case where I can't wish him the best (unlike Nimmo). I hope he implodes and completely sh!ts the bed with them. https://www.mlb.com/news/edwin-diaz-dodgers-contract Also, Schwarber back to the Phillthies on a 5-year, $150M deal. That's an overpay for a 35 year old DH only player but I get why they did it. https://nypost.com/2025/12/09/sports/kyle-schwarber-re-signs-with-phillies-for-150-as-mets-turn-to-pete-alonso/
  10. Was it this unreal 75-yard TD to Robert Foster in Josh's rookie season? To this day I don't know how he was able to uncork that as the pocket collapsed around him and he disappeared into a sea of bodies. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/can-t-miss-play-allen-goes-deep-to-foster-for-75-yard-td-strike
  11. @SinceThe70s @Gugny @Another Fan Mets get their first free agent in the fold...RP Devin Williams. 3 years, $45 million (over $50 million with deferred incentives). I guess this means Diaz is on his way out? Would've loved a Williams & Diaz combo for the late inning high leverage situations. https://www.mlb.com/news/devin-williams-mets-free-agent-contract https://nypost.com/2025/12/01/sports/mets-signing-devin-williams-to-three-year-deal-in-mlb-free-agency/
  12. He is 36...maybe he's in the first stages of menopause.
  13. Look for a lot of useless, ineffective Brady tunnel screens.
  14. And the salt of Ravens' fans tears.
  15. The way Lamar has played tonight, he's just as likely to turn it over as he is to lead them to a score.
  16. Lamar treating the ball like a hot potato helped that effort.
  17. Other than the Rams in Week 6, they haven't exactly played a murderers row...Bears, Dolphins, Vikings, Browns, & Jets.
  18. If Baltimore doesn't feed Henry in the 4th quarter until his legs fall off, they deserve to lose. Cincy is getting gutted almost every time he touches the ball.
  19. I'm not disagreeing with that, Their D has been trash all year long.
  20. Not entirely true. Did you miss the Likely TD in the first half that wasn't? He was headed for a score after a long completion and fumbled thru the end zone inches from the goal line.
  21. Pittsburgh is not winning that game. Tomlin will punt it away at some point.
