many teams struggled out of the gate this season. in all honesty i would rather have them lose their first one like this and improve as the season goes on (which they will). last season they came out of the gate beating the rams and titans and everyone was crowning them already.

watched most of the game yesterday and TE was average at best. made a few solid open tackle run stops, nothing spectacular. one or two tackles for a loss. as for coverage, Pack TE luke musgrave caught 3 balls out of 4 targets. One strange note, not sure how the Bears and NFL let him wear those Bills red long sleeve but i thought it was a cool gesture!

Gets the job done but not perfect. 1. The two games shown locally over the air were blacked out on YT so i had to keep switching between YT and DirecTV, kind of a pain. 2. The game to game switching on YT was decently quick. 3. Sign in was a PITA, had to switch my phone browser to enable location tracking so it knew my viewing market and could validate my TVs Roku YT sign in. 4. I did not order Red Zone but thought I would at least get the multi screen option without it, no such luck. 5. The broadcast was fine, one or two minor glitches like a brief repeat loop. 6. Really miss the DirecTV NFL mix channel where you could see all the scores at a glance. 7. Overall still prefer DTV Sunday Ticket for the NFL mix and not having to switch sources to see the locally broadcast games.

Greg Cosell was big on Dalton Kincaid in his Jets / Bills preview on OBD. Also a favorable matchup. A breakout game for DK would be excellent. Looking forward to this game !!!

Good discussion on OBL with Greg Cossell about the Bills using the 12 Personnel package vs. the Jets. Bills used it near fewest in the league last season. That should be interesting vs. the middling Jets LB coverage.

that is a good point and i have no personal "stats" to back up my feelings, just lasting impressions from watching every game. too many times my curse meter went in the red after TE did something to get caught.

I know what the stats say and in most games he plays great but in big games against the best he has not played his best. There are more than just financial reasons why the Bills did not re sign him.

I had mixed feelings about Edmund's performance- made the occasional great play but seemed frequently out of position in coverage. Pass coverage against slot WRs or TE is the key requirement of an MLB in the present game. Bernard had one start last year and was horrible in coverage. Dodson seems to be decent at both run and especially coverage and I have no problem with him as the starter. Could be an upgrade over Edmunds where it counts most.

There was a 4:00 NBC network game in the early 80s that was super questionable. It was the last game of the day and was playing long (no SNF back then). I had some wagers in play including that game and noticed with interest all of the favorites had covered that day. My team (also the favorite) was threatening to score late in the 4th quarter and would have covered with a field goal. I was pretty excited and ready for this team to score. They were on the opposing 20 or so and were called on a really quesionable play which set them back to the 35 or so. Next play they were called again on another questionable penalty. Back to midfield. Next play yet another penalty, back on their own 40 or so. Three extremely bogus call ii a row that took them out of field goal range and they were not able to recover from and failed to cover. Last game of the day, the only non favorite not to cover.

My expectations are high because Kincaid has the ability to exploit LB matchups, create separation and is sure handed enough to make the catch. If he gets open, Josh will find him even if he isn't the primary target. I expect our TOP and red zone scoring stats will improve.
