Week 7 Bills @ Patriots - on to Foxborough!
BearNorth replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
So with Kaiir and Cam Lewis both nicked up, does this mean we will be starting Josh Norman at CB2? -
You mean the guy ranked behind Thurman Thomas in the annals of OK State football. 🙂
-
I imagine Jamaica will field a pretty good team for this.

Weather looking like high 50's, wet field, windy, should we be worried about Josh's shoulder with 10-20 mph winds forecast. Hopefully Bass will get off the schneid. -
NFL wants to eliminate "hip drop" tackles

Us old time Bills fans still use the Mike Stratton hit on Keith Lincoln in the AFC title game as the measuring stick for impactful tackles. -

There are 10 domes, 8 of them have artificial surface. Cost to retrofit those 8 would be astronomical if you have seen the tech that is used in Arizona. Also Superbowls are normally only awarded to warm weather or cities with domes. Next three are: Vegas [Grass - Dome], New Orleans [Artificial], San Francisco [Grass - yikes - 45 degree night temps in February]. -

Should we be concerned with Oliver starting to collect PF's. Got fined $30K in week 5, and suspect he will collect another fine for the PF on Sunday night. Pretty soon he gets into Suh or Burfict territory. I've seen on the board, that once you start collecting these, the zebras are extra vigilant. -
Since Carolina is going nowhere, is it worth McBeane's Carolina connections to explore trading for Derrick Brown?

Said pass hit that wide open tight end in the hands. Kelce & Kittle catch that ball.

Suggestions on how to address the Bills sudden offensive struggles?
BearNorth replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Figure out what we were doing on the back to back 14 yard runs by Cook, and the 12 yard gash by Murray, rinse and repeat. -
Seems that a DB who is beaten who trips the receiver with his foot is never going to be called based on last night. "Incidental contact"
-
Some DC [Belichick?] is going to sell out [double with help] covering Diggs, and force Josh to go to his later reads, will remain to be seen if the other receivers can step up, and whether Josh is patient. Diggs isn't a size mismatch like Kelce, he's got to be open.

Yeah Harty probably could have walked into the end zone, Diggs and Davis pulled all the DB's toward the middle of the field and they forgot about Harty until it was too late. -

Cook had a pair of 14 yard runs back to back in the second quarter, then we have one play for 3 yards on 1 & 10 and we abandon the run setting up a long miss for Bass. Thought we had the Gints back on their heels, and then we squander our momentum. -
Bigger and faster than most LB's & Edge Rushers, unfair if he gets in space
-
Interestingly the schedules are remarkably even the rest of the way. Miami's future opponents are w30-l31, Bills are w30-l30. [bye weeks cause the difference].
-
And ranks the fish ahead of us. A team we beat by 4 TD's and is also missing several key players due to injury/on injured reserve.
-
Ran the sim a couple of times. Obviously last game of the season at Fish is HUGE, as that would give us a season sweep. @Chiefs will probably decide the AFC #1 seed as long as we sweep Miami. JAX playing in such a lousy division and with a W over us could be a problem.

Our next opponent….The NY Football Giants
BearNorth replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
The one matchup that seems to favor the Giants, is their interior DL [Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams] is stout. Will be a test for Morse, McGovern, and Torrence. Barkley would normally scare me, esp how we have been playing the run, but their O-Line is patchwork to be polite, so whatever he gets is probably on his own. If our edges were healthy [Von on a pitch count, Groot & Lawson dinged up] , their offense tackles are the worst pair in the league. -

Expecting a big game by Epenesa, Giants OL is severely depleted. Do have to concentrate our run defense, esp if Barkley plays. Brieda has elite speed, and we have had problems with that this year. Tyrod's MO is game manager so expect that. -
Apparently they have a grass field below the artificial surface and that's what they play their type of football [we call it soccer] on. There is a retractable deck below the artificial turf which probably explains why it feels so hard, since it's probably some sort of steel framed deck. From what I understand, soccer teams don't like American football to be played on their grass pitches, as it tears up the field and takes time to recover. Wonder what today's teams would think about some of the field conditions Bills used to play on in the Rockpile.

If Kincaid [concussion] is unable to play on Sunday night, do we see three wide [from among Sherfield, Harty and Shakir] and trust Brown [who is currently the #2 graded Bills lineman behind Dawkins] to anchor the right side.
-
Chiefs have to hope that Kelce isn't dealing with a nagging ding all season, and that Pacheco stays healthy. Though I saw Mahomes get dinged up in his last game. Their O-line is not playing as well as they have in the past. Their other wide-outs don't make me lose sleep.
