  1. Buffalo is in full on winter mode right now. Better warn your kids
  2. It makes sense to buck the stats occasionally based on matchups. But in general you follow them. Also, to ignore the stats completely to the point of apparently (according to another quote) not realizing he was bucking the stats seems ridiculous to me in this day and age. Seems like old school to the point of going back to the stone ages.
  3. I have that same sick feeling. If fast Freddie is close to 100% and Watkins is also back to almost 100% (not too sure on this one, groins sometimes take lots of time) I will feel better about it. I predict another close game with maybe a turnover deciding it. The 12th man could have a significant impact on this game as well.
  4. It is really not difficult if, like papazoid said, you simply follow the rules. You cannot talk bad about refs, which I personally think is a cowards rule by the NFL. And players/coaches are required to talk to the press at defined times. So simple even a beastmode should be able to figure it out.
  5. The skank apple doesn't fall far from the tree I guess. Your house huh. This thread has been enlightening.
  6. Hahahahahahahahaahahaahahaahahahaahahahahaahah!!!!!! My 13 year old knows that. Maybe he should apply for the HC job! I can teach him all the required cliches
  7. Yeah the hardcore racist one was particularly disturbing. Maybe that racist was just pissed off that his clubs twitter account was hacked http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/11/anonymous-responds-to-kkks-twitter-taunts-by-hacking-taking-over-their-account/
  8. The original premise seems very flawed to me. Forget about if Schwartz would be a good HC and Johnson a good DC. After 14 years of sub .500 performance do you think holding a HC in his 2nd year to task to get to 10-6 and make the playoffs (which 10-6 probably wouldn't do anyway) is rational or something the Bills would do? I don't. If they lose out the rest of the way and look terrible doing it (like they have the past 2 games) then perhaps. But otherwise, Marrone et. al. will be back for at least one more season. They might offer Hackett as a human sacrifice, but not much else would change I don't think.
  9. The "oh fer" tends to do that to you.
  10. That's actually the only game I'm confident in. But you also have to think the Raiders have that home game circled on the calendar to save them from 0-16.
  11. Or, both QBs suck equally. In any event coaching is at least as big of a problem as the QB, and the OL is almost as much.
  12. There is a difference between having a robust analytics department and using the data it generates. Besides, I suspect the analytics dept. referred to is for the draft, FA acquisitions etc., not in game decisions. You don't need anyone in house to generate the in game decision stats, they already exist. You just have to be smart enough as a HC to use them.
  13. Particularly if the !@#$ was wearing a Bills jersey.
  14. Too bad the Saints players didn't go over and strongly suggest to the !@#$ that he give her the ball.
  15. The marketable point is quite true, particularly when talking about the defense. But sadly that is saying nothing given the past 14 years. An experienced successful coach will not want to try and draft a good QB, then take the time to groom said QB. Too much of a gamble and would take too long. That's one reason the Bills have had Jauron, Gailey, and now Marrone. You take what you can get.
  16. From what I read, someone on the field gave her another ball to make up for the guy being an !@#$. You aren't serious are you? Would you do that? (Please say no if you are a Bills fan ... lie if you have to)
  17. As far as I know, the Pegulas do not have a football background at all (but I could be wrong). I know that he and his family have been hockey fans, and Sabres fans in particular, for a long time. I would not expect them to hire a coach, or make any free agent signings, or even be involved in the process until it comes time to sign someone. They are apparently hiring a consultant who does have football knowledge, which in my opinion is very smart and may give the Bills the advantage over the Sabres.
  18. It could happen anywhere. All it takes is one ahole, and trust me there is more than one at every NFL game. Add excessive alcohol to the equation and it becomes even more possible. I just watched it. What an !@#$. Even elbowed the woman in the face to get it. Putting that up on billboards in the entire area would be fitting.
  19. Man every time I see stuff like this I flash back to a scene in Bull Durham where the Costner character was mentoring a rookie on the proper use of cliches, and memorizing a list of them, for when dealing with the press. It is all so worthless. The press asks the same tired questions followed by the player(s) answering with the same cliches. And yet, fans continue to eat it up.
  20. Correct. No one was pissing and moaning about the Pegulas when they thought the Bills would be leaving the area. In my opinion the Pegulas will be mostly hands off when it comes to the Bills in terms of personnel decisions etc. Pegula is a smart enough businessman to know the best way to be successful is to hire the best people you can and let them do their jobs. Hockey is his sport, but he cares a lot about the Buffalo area and made sure the Bills will be staying for the foreseeable future.
  21. The people who are down are the ones that really thought the team had a chance at the playoffs this season. They thought Orton somehow was actually better than he was on the other teams he has played for. Marrone this year would "get it". Spiller was going to be an all star ... and so on. Reality has given them a harsh slap in the face. Almost anyone under those circumstances would be down. Yes the team is mathematically alive. But even if god intervened and the Bills somehow managed to get to 10-6 (and this is what it would take), the tiebreakers would likely take the Bills out. It simply is not going to happen this year, no matter how much you Billieve. Expressed graphically in the attachment (from (http://www.sportsclu...st/Buffalo.html)).
  22. Ahhhh you see, that's just it. Can the Bills do better? Like whom for example that would come to a team with no 1st round pick and no QB? Anyone can fire a HC. But it is stupid unless you have someone better in the wings.
  23. The whining that occurs from time to time here about the fans deserving better is all horse ****. The team is what it is, and has been for a decade and a half. Anyone who does not like what they have been getting for their "hard-earned money" the past 15 years yet continues spending it deserves exactly what they get and has no right whatsoever to expect more. The defense is. But as a team they most certainly are not.
  24. Playoffs are over in November, again. I wouldn't be too confident in beating the Jests at this point. Looking like 7-9 IF they can beat the Jests. No 1st round draft pick. The KC game really ended any realistic shot at the playoffs anyway, last night just drove a stake through its heart is all. The season is over. I will continue to watch during dinner just because, but it's the same old Bills it seems. Fortunately I don't get emotionally attached. I feel sorry for those that do.
