My apologies then. The way I read it was you thought the spear by Bradham was justified. -
Bradham Fined for Spearing Browns' TE Barnidge
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And that makes his intentional spear acceptable? I wonder what the thread would be like if a Browns LB broke Watkins or Chandlers ribs. I suspect it would be different than this. Disappointing. Pettine isn't Rex Ryan and knows how to keep his mouth shut. -
Antoine Cason cut by the Panthers...interested?

if I'm Whaley I don't think I mess much with the Bills D at this point. Unless of course Schwartz wants him. -
Well, that was embarrassing.

5 of 7 "in the hunt" AFC teams could lose this week
CodeMonkey replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you are going to make that statement you have to include .... Bills (7-5) @ Broncos (9-3) (6) and call it 6 of 7. -
The one week I want Pats* to win ...
CodeMonkey replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah they were talking about that on ESPN radio this morning with the Stillers and now the pats*. Any chance we can get him to go hang out in Denver this week? -
How will you react to a blowout?
CodeMonkey replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah that's ESPN radio. Mikes Greenberg and Golic in the morning. And I agree, the station is generally worth listening to if you like sports talk. As to the thread topic, I'm not expecting a blowout, but I am expecting the Broncos to win. Crazier things have happened, of the 3 remaining tough opponents, Denver seems to be the one where the Bills have the best chance, and that's why they play the games and all that. But the Bills are just not ready to be included in discussions with the likes of Denver, NE*, and GB. And Kyle Orton is not even in the same universe as Manning, Brady, and Rogers. But if it does end up a blowout I go about business as usual. What's the worst that realistically happens, the Bills end up with a better record than they have had in far too long at 8-8 and are on the obvious upswing. -

Good luck to you as well. Barnidge was hurt with a cheap shot, sorry about that. -
Anyone else notice KO putting in some dip?

Yes and so did my wife. She was grossed out. -

I haven't read the article, I never read him. But it was by no means a "great win" like I am seeing in places. There were so many mistakes and flags on both teams it is difficult to ascertain exactly what was going on. The Bills offense was abysmal as has become the norm. The Bills defense was OK in the first half, and seemed to wake up in the second and play their normal tough game. The Browns defense was also OK in the first half, but their offense was abysmal ... and their defense decided to join the offense in the second half. Train wreck city. As a Bills fan it was very easy to sit back and enjoy the second half of that game. And any win is a good win, particularly in a "must win" game like that was. But looking at it from any kind of a neutral perspective it is impossible to call it a "great game", in my opinion at least. If the Bills play like that in 6 days from now, god help them. I mean, near the end of the game the Bills were 0 for 11 on 3rd down conversions I believe. Good god. -

You guys kill me with these "win out" scenarios. If the Bills end up at 11-5 I will be betting on them pretty heavy to win the SB -
Hmmmm i don't know. Getting non-Bills fans to put money on the Bills getting less than 9? I was thinking the number might actually go up a bit.

Johnny Football. Meet the Meatball.

My fav part was the Bills fan giving the Johnny Football "money" gesture after the fumble -
In today's NFL, in most cases you go as far as your QB takes you. That's my opinion. The Bills have a mediocre QB and will likely have a mediocre record.
-
On TV they showed Johnny Footballs face on the sideline when they overturned the call. He had his helmet off and set down somewhere. He had a shocked look then had to go get his helmet to go back onto the field. He clearly knew it was a fumble.

Regarding Mr. Talley, Can the NFL Ever be Made Safe?
CodeMonkey replied to rfk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Factor in travel soccer at the high school and below levels. Plus do high schools have 50+ football rosters in some places? Not around me they don't. Can't get that nearly that many to play. But I could see it in the south, Texas for example I guess. -
They almost have to make 8-8 now with the Raiders still on the schedule. In fact, I think that's the most likely outcome.

Regarding Mr. Talley, Can the NFL Ever be Made Safe?
CodeMonkey replied to rfk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm not so sure that's true anymore. But as far women's soccer, a coach explained that to me one time and I've seen it to be true. If you see two men go for 50/50 ball, most of the time if one of the players has a slight edge, the other player will back off. But in the women's game, that generally won't happen and they are far more likely to bang their heads together than men are, and this is the main reason for concussions in soccer and is true in high school as well as college. -
Yeah that is hard to fathom. Particularly when the the ex-official on CBS emphatically stated that the call on the field was correct. I'd love to hear the official explanation for that overturn, but we never will. Maybe the answer is to do what hockey does and have reviews for all games done by the NFL at a central location. Take it out of the one guys hands altogether.

Yeah I have a hard time figuring out their playoff odds. The page you referenced shows 14.3% but at the top of the Bills primary page (http://www.sportsclu...st/Buffalo.html) shows their current playoff odds at 13.4%. They seem to be calculating the chances 2 different ways. And if you look lower on the Bills primary page you see that their 2 most likely outcomes for the remainder of the season are (record = Chance of playoffs) 2-2 = 0.3% 1-3 = 0% 13.4% and 14.3 % both seem like over the top optimistic chances considering that the Bills play Denver, GB, and NE* in 3 of the remaining 4 games. I am not getting how Sports Club Stats is calculating their playoff percentages at all. I read their description and they say they weight the statistically better and the home team higher in their simulations. But I think their weighting may be a bit off in this case -
Miles Austin hospitalized overnight in Bflo
CodeMonkey replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes it was very clear in the replay. Wouldn't be surprised if his wallet was a bit lighter this week. There are enough injuries in the game without cheap shots. -

Bradham speared a player in the ribs earlier in the game that took him out as well. -
Does Buffalo at Denver get flexed?
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah this for sure. Denver opened up as a 10 point favorite. This game is seen I'm sure by most as a Denver blowout win.
