That's actually the only game I'm confident in. But you also have to think the Raiders have that home game circled on the calendar to save them from 0-16.

Is It Time To Start EJ, Again?

Or, both QBs suck equally. In any event coaching is at least as big of a problem as the QB, and the OL is almost as much. -
Game day coaching decisions...why so difficult?
CodeMonkey replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a difference between having a robust analytics department and using the data it generates. Besides, I suspect the analytics dept. referred to is for the draft, FA acquisitions etc., not in game decisions. You don't need anyone in house to generate the in game decision stats, they already exist. You just have to be smart enough as a HC to use them. -
Anyone see the Saints fan steal the ball from a woman?

Particularly if the !@#$ was wearing a Bills jersey. -

Too bad the Saints players didn't go over and strongly suggest to the !@#$ that he give her the ball. -

The marketable point is quite true, particularly when talking about the defense. But sadly that is saying nothing given the past 14 years. An experienced successful coach will not want to try and draft a good QB, then take the time to groom said QB. Too much of a gamble and would take too long. That's one reason the Bills have had Jauron, Gailey, and now Marrone. You take what you can get. -

From what I read, someone on the field gave her another ball to make up for the guy being an !@#$. You aren't serious are you? Would you do that? (Please say no if you are a Bills fan ... lie if you have to) -
Misconceptions about Terry Pegula
CodeMonkey replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As far as I know, the Pegulas do not have a football background at all (but I could be wrong). I know that he and his family have been hockey fans, and Sabres fans in particular, for a long time. I would not expect them to hire a coach, or make any free agent signings, or even be involved in the process until it comes time to sign someone. They are apparently hiring a consultant who does have football knowledge, which in my opinion is very smart and may give the Bills the advantage over the Sabres. -

It could happen anywhere. All it takes is one ahole, and trust me there is more than one at every NFL game. Add excessive alcohol to the equation and it becomes even more possible. I just watched it. What an !@#$. Even elbowed the woman in the face to get it. Putting that up on billboards in the entire area would be fitting. -
Man every time I see stuff like this I flash back to a scene in Bull Durham where the Costner character was mentoring a rookie on the proper use of cliches, and memorizing a list of them, for when dealing with the press. It is all so worthless. The press asks the same tired questions followed by the player(s) answering with the same cliches. And yet, fans continue to eat it up.

Misconceptions about Terry Pegula
CodeMonkey replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct. No one was pissing and moaning about the Pegulas when they thought the Bills would be leaving the area. In my opinion the Pegulas will be mostly hands off when it comes to the Bills in terms of personnel decisions etc. Pegula is a smart enough businessman to know the best way to be successful is to hire the best people you can and let them do their jobs. Hockey is his sport, but he cares a lot about the Buffalo area and made sure the Bills will be staying for the foreseeable future. -
The people who are down are the ones that really thought the team had a chance at the playoffs this season. They thought Orton somehow was actually better than he was on the other teams he has played for. Marrone this year would "get it". Spiller was going to be an all star ... and so on. Reality has given them a harsh slap in the face. Almost anyone under those circumstances would be down. Yes the team is mathematically alive. But even if god intervened and the Bills somehow managed to get to 10-6 (and this is what it would take), the tiebreakers would likely take the Bills out. It simply is not going to happen this year, no matter how much you Billieve. Expressed graphically in the attachment (from (http://www.sportsclu...st/Buffalo.html)).

CodeMonkey replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ahhhh you see, that's just it. Can the Bills do better? Like whom for example that would come to a team with no 1st round pick and no QB? Anyone can fire a HC. But it is stupid unless you have someone better in the wings. -
Congrats Buffalo, you almost made it to mid November
CodeMonkey replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whining that occurs from time to time here about the fans deserving better is all horse ****. The team is what it is, and has been for a decade and a half. Anyone who does not like what they have been getting for their "hard-earned money" the past 15 years yet continues spending it deserves exactly what they get and has no right whatsoever to expect more. The defense is. But as a team they most certainly are not. -
Playoffs are over in November, again. I wouldn't be too confident in beating the Jests at this point. Looking like 7-9 IF they can beat the Jests. No 1st round draft pick. The KC game really ended any realistic shot at the playoffs anyway, last night just drove a stake through its heart is all. The season is over. I will continue to watch during dinner just because, but it's the same old Bills it seems. Fortunately I don't get emotionally attached. I feel sorry for those that do.

The all Tebow for the Bills thread
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess. But how is that worse than what we witnessed the past couple of games? -
The all Tebow for the Bills thread
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just how desperate are Whaley and Marrone. I don't know, with the Bills out of the playoffs IR Spiller and bring in Tebow? Why the F not at this point. Would increase my desire to tune in anyway. Could the offense play any worse? -
Lament of an eternal optimist....
CodeMonkey replied to Bronc24's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glancing at the remaining schedule, it looks more like 7-9 to me now. Beat the Jests and Raiders, lose the rest. And frankly, the Jests isn't a sure thing after these last 2 games. -
Who do you WANT as the Bills coach in 2015?
CodeMonkey replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
-
Not worthless. He would be a great backup. His arm would hold out for 2 or 3 games a season. But he has no business being a starter in the NFL.

That was very nicely put and you have a far greater understanding of the details than I do. The only thing I disagree with is the grounding call. He was under pressure and did throw it away. If Watkins was looking at it and made a move towards the ball then no call. As it was I don't have any issue with it being called. Whether or not Tom Terrific gets called for it is irrelevant in my opinion. Now the PI call on Gilmore was total BS, I agree completely. But the refs didn't lose that game as you very nicely explained. And lastly, even relevant in December would be a nice change. -
I don't know. Are there any more retired QBs that have bounced around the league their entire careers the Bills could hire?
-
I should just copy/paste my profanity filled rant from last weeks postgame thread about this cliche spewing !@#$. First try beating a mediocre team like the fish.
