  1. Good stuff and thanks for posting this. Even on the play Warner was critical of, he still made the point that there wasn’t anything wrong with the attempt, because Josh had read the play, and he still put the ball only where the receiver could get it. I expect when Josh plays the tapes back, he’ll recognise that himself.
  2. Nobody actually scares me. So far the only team that looks on a par with the Bills, would be the Chiefs. The Fins D was decent but nothing to worry about. Their Offense was all dump passes and YAC. They didn’t so much win that game, as had it handed to them on a plate, as Jones was awful.
  3. No point, it's boneless. Jones, atm, simply isn't good enough. Either with his arm (although it's at least a bit better than Tua's) or his head. Needing an X-Ray, is probably all his own fault for stuffing up his own protections and getting blindsided by a Fin, who came hurtling at him totally untouched, and then absolutely levelled him (fairly I might add).
  4. Captain Checkdown. Any time he tried to go any distance, he looked like the underthrew it. His throwing motion looked awful - and that's not just because he's a leftie. I had the game on, but couldn't bring myself to really watch it, as it was pretty awful. Jones was crap too. The best unit on the field, was probably the Cheaters D. Kyle Dugger is for real. Fins D was okay, but Jones either handed them the football, or didn't make the right corrections in blocking, and found himself firmly on his ass. Neither QB worries me in the slightest. The Fins do have weapons in Hill and Waddle though. It's unlikely they will hurt you downfield, Tua either can't really get the football there, or doesn't bother looking, but you do have to make sure they don't get yac, otherwise known as tackling properly. Edmunds brother was also decent, especially as an outlet, although tbh, pretty much every throw Tua attempted looked like a checkdown. As an aside, it's no wonder evil Bill didn't let Jones throw when the wind blew back in December, as he puts too much air under the football. I'm not so sure that was a coaching masterstroke, as more of a lack of trust in him being able to throw when it's more than a little windy.
  5. Jones blindsided completely, fumbles and a TD to the Fins. Door left completely wide open by someone who might not be on the Pats much longer.
  6. Can't say I blame them. In other news, Flacco still thinks he's on the Ravens.....lol
  7. Watching Fins/Cheats. Mac Jones arm by comparison to Josh, is night and day. When Josh is putting touch on stuff, it still gets there quicker.
  8. Tbh, it didn’t look like a punch to me, more of a one finger poke. Which is why I believe he’s in the doghouse. A proper punch out, and he probably gets more leeway. In all honesty, I’ve not watched it back, so I may be being a bit harsh. Definitely a wake up call for Cook, likely along the lines of ‘this is the real NFL now’.
  9. Have a great day. Nice to not have any worries about a game. Happy Birthday!
  10. Yes and no. We got a new d-line coach last year, and I think his coaching is now bearing fruit, especially with the younger guys. There’s also the Von Miller factor, plus adding more and better beef to the line.
  11. Week 11, when they are eliminated from being in the playoffs. Wilson's is probably as much due to his change of location, as anything else.
  12. 'Doing their best to keep him' strikes me as being somewhat relative. I'm sure the Bills FO would like to keep him, especially if he's going to return cheap. What the Bills FO sees 'their best' as, may come nowhere near Poyer's expectations, and consequently not be viewed by him as 'their best'. Imho, what this has done is to show some good faith, while at the same time, buying everyone time. (Also rewarding good service) It's a bit like a negotiation where nobody walks away entirely happy with the end result, but all that usually means, is that it was fair on all sides.
  13. Good move by Beane. I have no idea if it will mean they can, or will, re-sign Poyer to a new deal next year, but I do like the message it sends out, which is basically 'we will try and take care of you if you perform'. Tbh, I think, providing Poyer doesn't have excessive demands, they might be able to get him and Edmunds done next off-season, especially now they have got Knox inked for the future. While I think Poyer will be capable of playing in diverse schemes, if I was him, I'd be looking very closely at the guaranteed $ on any new contract negotiations. At this stage of a career, I think that's as important as anything, as it's almost certainly going to be his last one. If the Bills match guarantees, even if the total is different, I'd be thinking that it's better the devil you know, rather than chasing a bigger number that might not happen. Too often we see guys move around for supposedly huge contracts, only to see them cut well before they can earn the money.
  14. See, that's the thing - you simply don't understand so much about the attitudes of people in the UK, it's not true. There are significant amounts of people, who would lose no sleep, if the monarchy was removed entirely. What people in the UK do have, and that does include many who don't want a monarchy, is enormous personal respect for how the late Queen comported herself with tremendous dignity, on just about any occasion. It's probably fair to say that the Queen was revered. But it doesn't apply to the rest of the Royal family. Charles, the new King, his sister Anne (the Princess Royal) and William and Kate, are all viewed favourably, generally. After them, opinion would be somewhat divided, with a probable majority, not caring about them one way or another. Why is it big news around the world? Well, the Queen was the titular Head of State in a number of countries still, one notable example being Australia, but there are a bunch of others. There is a political alliance (of sorts) called the Commonwealth, which has something like 50+ countries in it, the majority of which are former British 'dependencies' in one shape or form or another. Many of those countries became independent during the Queen's reign, many of which maintained fairly close ties. As to not understanding the history of the Monarchy, well, lets just say that the reason the new King is apparently having to repeat himself with some things, is due to the Act of Union, in 1707.
  15. Considering I've lived in the UK for 60+ years, pretty much my entire life, I'd say I have a far clearer understanding of the sort of 'deal' it is, than the vast majority of people who are on this site - with a few exceptions - and that wouldn't include you.
  16. I rather suspect I have a way better understanding of why it’s a ‘big deal’ than you ever will. The point being that while I expect enormous coverage, and have no issue with that - especially through the medium of television- having it on every little sub section of websites that are supposed to be about something else entirely, is ridiculous.
  17. In the UK atm, 'All Media' has it everywhere. Example, as you would expect, it's the lead story on the BBC News site. However, it's also the lead story on the Sport section of the site. Further, as you go to the sub-sections of the different sports, it's still the lead story on all of those, e.g. Football, Rugby, Formula 1, Cricket, etc.
  18. So the 'star of the combine' is an UDFA for the Bills. Not exactly a 'steal', more of a chance on developing someone with a fair bit of natural athletic ability. Which was done by Mouse McNally, who Peters very much saw a a mentor. McNally ended up retiring from the Bills staff, after getting crocked on the sidelines at a game. Around that time, was when Peters became disillusioned with things, not least his money. The next thing that happened was he changed his Agent to Eugene Parker, who pretty much immediately told him to hold out. The way the Bills handled that, didn't do them any favours when it came to negotiating a new deal, as Peters was fined a bunch for not showing up to TC etc. With McNally gone also, Peters wasn't too inclined to take any of the Bills offers, which didn't get to the double digits he was after, although it was rumoured they did get up to $9 million per. Eventually, the Bills cut bait, and got the best deal they could from the Eagles. The Bills could, and should, have handled the whole situation a lot better, and a lot sooner, but there were also aspects of the holdout, that didn't exctly show Peters in the best light. While it may well be more often than not a 'given' that positional change nets a reworked contract, it was less so at the time. Still today, you get arguments over guys being tagged as TE or WR, or LB or DE.
  19. Matakevitch has always performed well as a LB when asked to. Imho if he didn’t play teams, he could be first off the bench @ LB and we wouldn’t struggle if that was the case. With Bass and Araiza, I do think there’s an opportunity to re-think what we want to, or can, do with Special Teams, and I believe that could provide a chance to keep someone we may have previously let go.
  20. Simply awful news. My sincere condolences 😢
  21. Excellent illustration of just how interchangeable Hyde and Poyer are. 2 different teams, same route, same result. Just that against the Cheats, it's Hyde with the interception, and against the Jest, it's Poyer.
  22. The NFL's record for drug testing, is pretty abysmal. If they adopted the type of testing that athletics has, teams would probably need rosters twice the size to deal with all of the suspensions. The 'punishments' are also pretty laughable. For Hopkins to get a 6 game suspension, has he not been already 'captured' previously?
  23. Crowder is too good a player to get cut. He will beat out the rest for the slot position. Comfortably. Kumerow is the guy in serious danger, imho, although it could be Stevenson. Kumerow might be worth trying to convert into a TE, if he bulks up and blocks better.
