Whitehead is exactly the type of up-and-comer I'd think McBeane would be all over. Similar to the Hyde signing last year, solid player for his old team, but he could come to Buffalo & really excel.

So are we the only team left in the Foles market?

Eagles rejected a 2nd when there were 5+ teams that needed a vet QB. My point is that is just became a buyers' market in the past 2 hours. -
Veteran QB: It all comes down to FOLES / MCCARRON!
947 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it's not Foles or McCarron, I'd rather roll Peterman out there than McCown anybody in tier 3. -
Seems like everybody else has signed a QB, and almost all the bridge QBs are now taken. Are we the last team that could want Foles? Pretty sure the Eagles have to get his contract off their books. If we're the only bidder, I could see a 3rd getting it done.

So do we not have a plan at WR in free agency?
947 replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really think it'll be Pryor, in a week or 2, after the frenzy dies down of course. I think Moncrief & John Brown will be getting way too much money, after what Richardson just got. I don't see us spending that much at WR. -
I'd rather see a trade of our 2019 1st to move up, than to give up #22.
-
It's this type of thinking that cost us 6 more elite years from London Fletcher.
-
We need to add 2 starting LBs, and it's doubtful we can get both in the draft. I think we take a LB at #22 (Vander Esch or Evans), but need a FA too. Nigel Bradham, Zach Brown, or Tahir Whitehead- would absolutely be impact LB signings for the Bills. All good fits for us, hopefully the prices come down after the initial FA frenzy.

Willie Snead is a possession/slot WR, just like the 2 WRs we currently have. He is the opposite of what we need, we need a down-field threat. It's like you guys just jump on names you've heard of, without knowing what they can do. Meredith maybe could be a fit, but is coming off a major injury, and not worth giving anything up.

This is EXACTLY what I came in this thread to post. Allen is a going to be the next huge QB bust, which sucks for him because he belongs nowhere near the first round conversation, but he keeps getting rammed down everyone's throats to the point that he could go top-10. I admit, aggressively trading up and taking a probable bust would be a Billsy thing to do. I think Beane knows better.

Jordy Nelson or Randall Cobb to be cut?
947 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much. My main point was that if GB signs Watkins, both Cobb & Nelson will be on the FA market. -
Jordy Nelson or Randall Cobb to be cut?
947 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because tying that much cap space up in the WR position would be asinine. They're about to re-do Rodgers' deal to something like Jimmy G got, and their Defense has multiple needs, that money would be better spent here. Sure, they could probably figure out a way to keep 3 expensive WRs on their roster, but I just don't see it happening. -
Jordy Nelson or Randall Cobb to be cut?

Packers would have to cut both Jordy & Cobb to afford Sammy, but I don't see either as a fit for us. Cobb doesn't fit our needs at all. We need a deep threat, not another possession WR, already have 2 of those. Jordy would be nice, but would cost way more than McBeane would be willing to spend, and only has 1-2 years left before going out to pasture. He'll go to a contender. -
Mathews is absolutely NOT a fit for what we need. He is strictly a possession WR, best suited for the slot. We already have 2 possession guys, don't need a 3rd, what we need is a deep threat.

Billy Price Undergoes Surgery on His Torn Pec
947 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he drops to Round 3, maybe even 4. There's no guarantee he regains 100% strength in the torn pec, ever. On top of that, it's really doubtful he'd be able to play this year. Of course he says he'll be ready for camp, he just lost millions of dollars with this injury and is doing damage control. I'd be OK with the risk with our 3rd rounder, but no more than that. -
There's 0% chance of this draft actually happening, but even with no OL drafted, this would be the best ever. I wanted to draft OL in the 2nd, but couldn't pass Vander Esch there. 21: R1P21 LB RASHAAN EVANS ALABAMA 22: R1P22 DL VITA VEA WASHINGTON 53: R2P21 QB JOSH ALLEN WYOMING 56: R2P24 LB LEIGHTON VANDER ESCH BOISE STATE 96: R3P32 WR DEONTAY BURNETT USC 121: R4P21 EDGE JOSH SWEAT FLORIDA STATE 158: R5P21 RB BO SCARBROUGH ALABAMA 166: R5P29 CB DARIOUS WILLIAMS UAB

I would love this. Vander Esch or Rashan Evans along with a DT at 21/22, then QB in the 2nd and sign a vet.

Who is your "not with a 10 foot pole" first round pick?
947 replied to Cripple Creek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh Allen, aka Ryan Leaf 2.0. -
I think he'd be a great fit, but yeah, too expensive. We could probably get 2 new starting LBs for the $10M it'd cost for Zach Brown, and that's what we need.
-
I really doubt anybody offers Stewart more than the veteran minumum. Let another team waste cap space on him, he really wouldn't be any better than Tolbert.
-
I'm starting to warm up to Jackson. I think with the right OC, he can be a good NFL starter. I'd be ok with him at 21 or 22, but I don't think he warrants a trade-up.
