  1. I really liked Curry as a player for the Raiders. I had no idea he was coaching in the league. I'm intrigued.
  2. Legette's height has already been proven to be an exaggeration, he measured 6'1" at the senior bowl.
  3. Boyd is a Slot WR, and is projected to get an $8.7M/yr contract. We don't need a slot & probably can't pay that much anyway. I'd argue that Shakir is already as good as Boyd, and on his way up.
  4. I really want Ricky Pearsall. He reminds me a lot of Cooper Kupp, and not just the beard...
  5. I really don't see us trading up this year. We have a bunch of late picks, but those aren't getting you up even 1 slot in the 1st. We already traded our 3rd this year for Douglas, we only have the compensatory 3rd coming. This board would implode if Beane traded another 3rd rounder to move up a few spots. There will be a very good WR available at #28, and we need our rounds 1-3 picks to contribute as rookies.
  6. Brady is only slightly more charismatic than Belichick, not exactly somebody made for this job. Plus, I'd have to guess roughly 50% America dislikes him too. There is little chance he excels at this. I can't comprehend how he'd get $375M to call games for 10 years without ever having done it before.
  7. The problem with Diggs is the complete lack of effort on most plays that aren't a pass with him as the #1 option. On run plays, he barely moves, rarely attempts to block anyone, and basically just stands there way too often. On pass plays with others as the primary, he often runs his route at 60% unless he sees Josh scramble, in which case he speeds up & tries to get open. When he's doubled, he often just gives up & dogs it. This stuff wouldn't fly in youth football, and they'd be called out the first time it happened. I can't believe he's still getting away with it. This wasn't an issue his first few years here, but now is a major one. If your #1 WR isn't doing the little things, it brings the whole offense down.
  8. We're one of the only teams that routinely pays special teams "aces", and our special teams still suck. If other coaches are getting good results with guys on their roster who also back up other positions, why are we paying ST-only guys like Matakevich $2.5M? We need a new ST coach, and also stop paying for primary special teamers.
  9. Is he going to develop further, or is he just a tall Chris Kelsay? I like Rousseau as a player, but so far he hasn't stood out like I expected.
  10. Mooney & Samuel are Slot WRs, we do not need that. Shakir is a very good Slot & will likely be for years to come. What we need is an outside WR. I think we draft that guy in the 1st, but we also need a bargain-priced vet for that role. The ones who fit that bill are Chark & Josh Reynolds. Chark would probably be the cheaper of the 2, but I'd be ok with either.
  11. It's shocking to how lazily some of our WRs ran routes in that game. The coaches film really tells the story that you can't see on TV. Diggs is the biggest offender, which is crazy.
  12. Rapp is awful in coverage. He's a solid tackler, but coverage is a bigger part of playing Safety in our system. I don't think they bring him back. I think we'll draft one & pick up 2 FA guys. I like the idea of getting miscast CBs from another team who can be converted here.
  13. Even first round pick WRs can take a season or 2 to develop. Look at Quentin Johnston on the Chargers, he was thrust into opportunity this year & still didn't do much. We'll draft one early, but also need to hedge that bet with a FA WR pickup. Samuel is a good player, but I don't think he fits our need as an outside WR. I fear he'd be like Crowder was here.
  14. The Chargers are a complete mess cap-wise, they are going to lose a lot of talent this offseason. And I don't see Harbaugh as a revolutionary coach who will turn around a team no matter what, but he's a solid coach & having his decision-making instead of Staley's may be all they need to get to the playoffs.
  15. Tre is not coming back. No CB in the history of the NFL has ever gotten even close to their prior abilities after an achilles tear. We constantly see guys at other positions come back as shells of themselves & are out of the league a year later. Maybe they restructure him into a big pay cut to allow him to rehab, but he isn't ever going to be a key player for us again. I love the guy, and it sucks, but it's time to move on.
  16. I think Von should really consider attending Von Miller's Pass Rush Summit this offseason...
  17. The only time I missed Gabe was when I saw Shakir heading to the locker room with what looked like a dislocated shoulder. I was thinking. "Oh man, we're gonna have to throw more to Sherfield now, I really wish we had Gabe".
  18. When I saw Hamlin switch sides of the formation, then switch back, I knew what was up. What I never could've imagined is that Hamlin himself would be running the ball. I can't fault McD for being aggressive when his Defense was getting gashed every drive, but what an utterly ridiculous way to do it.
  19. Brian Thomas Jr- LSU. 6'4" 205lbs. Deep threat extraordinaire. Overshadowed by Nabers a bit, but could be a just as dangerous. I watched some film on Jayden Daniels & all I kept noticing was Thomas Jr really stood out. I honestly think Nabers/Thomas had more to do with the Heisman season than Daniels himself. I think Thomas is exactly what we need & currently projected in the back third of the 1st round. I also think Troy Franklin is a great fit for us. He's more well-rounded than Thomas Jr, but slightly less explosive.
  20. Larry Johnson had basically the same career as Okoye. Both utterly dominant for 2-3 seasons then faded into obscurity.
  21. Playing through a meniscus tear is tough, depending what type. If it's a bucket-handle tear, the knee can lock up & you can't function the same even with painkillers. The report says it's a minor meniscus tear for Benford, so hopefully he can numb it & play through it & have surgery after the season. There are 2 types of meniscus surgeries. Partial meniscectomy- they cut out the torn piece & it's a 6 week recovery. Or they can do a meniscus repair, which is a 6 month recovery. Repair is typically only done on people under age 25 or so, but Benford fits this age group. Hoping it truly is minor.
  22. Anyone else notice Von drop into coverage on the first defensive series? On the 3rd down play, he dropped & was kinda in the passing lane, I guess you could even say he played a part in forcing the incompletion.
  23. He's gotta be nursing an injury. Doesn't look like the same guy.
  24. I think we'll definitely add a vet WR, on a cheaper deal. But yes, we need a WR in Round 1. I also think we'll target Safety in FA. Another Beane reclamation project who was underutilized or miscast as a CB somewhere else, in the Poyer mold.
  25. Yep, Carolina is the only way Frazier has a chance at actually getting another shot. That job may be the least desirable Head Coach opening in the history of the NFL Whoever takes the job is most likely going to be fired after their first season, Carolina is going to have to hire somebody no other team wants.
