  1. McD coached him against no game tape and Elam had zero regular season snaps. I think he looks better next week for sure
  2. Milano and D Jones are killer injuries luckily Floyd and T Johnson returned avoiding complete catastrophe. Hopefully the Bills can get one of them back at some point. I think D Williams and Poona Ford can backfill decently
  3. You have to give the players a day or two at your facility to heal up and get their work in. Then fly out on Wednesday. You get two days at home with your facilities and your bed to rest in. Then on Wednesday you travel and that gives you three days before game day to adjust. That would make the most sense to me
  4. I also think you kind of have to give Elam a “break” on this game at least factoring in the circumstances to his performance. He was inactive the first four weeks and then gets thrusted into a starting role against a good WR in London a place he never played before. Oh and the opposition played in London the week before. It’s understandable he had a bad game. I trust McD to coach him up and allow him the time to work out the kinks. I suspect how he looks the next two weeks will be how he is going to be this season.
  5. As good as Gabe played he made a really bad error when the margin for error was small. Just frustrating as the penalties put the Bills behind so much and then they made a few errors and were depleted on defense due to injuries
  6. I just don’t understand the infatuation with Cook at times. Just a really frustrating game overall.
  7. Call me crazy but I think Elam gets going eventually. McD is one of if not the best secondary coaches in the league and Elam had some nice jams and plays out there mixed in with a lot of his bad play. I trust McD to coach him up. Keep this is in mind, Elam was completely inactive weeks 1-4 and then is thrusted into a starting role against a very good WR in Ridley. Oh and yeah play this game in London for the first time in your career against a team that not only plays there all the time but also played there last week. Just not ready to write him off for a bad game against a good opponent and in tough circumstances
  8. Bad drop for sure but the reason this game was lost was not because the WR 2/3 wasn’t going. Davis even before garbage time made a few plays as did Harty. It was lack for a power run game and some bad penalties that cost them the chance to get going early and in Q3
  9. I liked what I saw from Harty today. They used him less as a “gadget” player and more like a WR. It was a good way to get him some big plays. Hopefully they use him more like that going forward. I also for the third time this season liked the one catch that Shakir made. Shakir made a nice first down catch that made a big impact. Hopefully he gets more burn too.
  10. I wish the Bills could have just ran Harris and Murray a lot more from under center in the first half. Once the offense becomes one dimensional it leads to having to have Diggs and Davis going off consistently which is not easy to do. Still would have liked to have seen Josh attempt a Hail Mary
  11. Elam didn’t play well but I think it’s better he takes his lumps now so that by December he hopefully gets into form and is rolling. He had some nice plays like a good jam or two on Ridley. McD is one of the best secondary coaches in the league I am sure it will work out in the long run.
  12. Gabe missed one critical catch that cost the team a FG chance but he also came up with some plays. I liked what I saw from him. The issue in my mind is establishing a power running game from under center to be less reliant on Josh throwing the ball.
  13. I am sure there are suggestions but in the end you don’t know what works best for your team and your players until you have that experience a few times
  14. It does matter because the coaching staff and players have never had that experience before so they don’t know what works best for their players. The Bills clearly got out the gate slow
  15. The Bills had Brian Daboll in 2021 and they put up 6 against the Jags…
  16. That was in 2015, the current coaching staff and group of players have collectively never played in London before.
  17. It has never happened before that a team in London faced a team that played in London the week before. There were bad coaching decisions made but I can’t also say that there weren’t other factors that put the Bills in a bad spot.
  18. The Bills never played in London and they faced a team that not only played in London many times but also played in London the previous week. The Bills were at a major disadvantage against a good team. The Bills kept it mostly a one score game despite many bad calls early. The Bills only got a call or two towards the end but the game was already behind them when they got the calls their way. The injuries are what concerns me long term. Hopefully Jones and Milano aren’t out long term. I think with Poona Ford and D Williams they can manage a few games without them but they need them back come late November. My only complaint was the attempt to do a hook and ladder at the end. They should have taken a big “chunk” of 20 plus yards and spike the ball. They had enough time on the clock to do that. I would have loved to have seen a Hail Mary attempt from 70ish yards by Josh. Not that the Bills would have won but it would have been cool to see Josh attempt it.
  19. Factoring out the injuries the Jets loss was far more sloppy and self inflicted. The circumstances surrounding the London game also allows me to write this off more.
  20. I kind of forgot about the injuries but they happen to everyone just have to hope for the best
  21. He did, he did have some nice jam ups too but also touched a bit. I am ok with letting him learn so that by December he is rolling.
  22. This game was an odd circumstance. I can’t take it too much to heart. No team has played in London against a team that played in London the week before.
  23. I’m not really all that concerned, the Bills have never played a game in London and the Jags not only play there all the time but also played there last Sunday. It was a funky game with some bad calls. I just wish they didn’t try to do the hook and ladder BS at the end just go down and spike the ball they had enough time to spike and attempt a Hail Mary. Not that a Hail Mary would have worked but I want to see Josh attempt one
  24. I don't think bad teams inherently pay RB's. The 49ers are paying CMC big money and they appear to be a really good team both this year and last year when they acquired CMC. The Titans paid Derrick Henry and made the playoffs two years straight (and Henry appears to still be producing at a high level even if the talent around him has fallen off). I will say that paying a RB "big" money is a gamble that is less likely to "pay off" than paying other positions big money but I think in certain circumstances paying a RB is a gamble worth taking. Particularly if you are like the 49ers and Colts who have QB's on rookie deals or the Titans who have a QB on a mid-level or lower contract. I think a very good to great RB helps the development of a young QB in a big way and if the RB is a bust you can absorb that more easily if you are paying a QB peanuts relatively speaking. I think once you have a QB on a big contract you don't have the luxury of giving an RB big money, its simply too much of a gamble and you need those resources elsewhere.
  25. I would imagine that Oliver may have more hurries, sacks, and QB hits than Bosa but I would also imagine that Bosa soaks up way more double and triple teams than Oliver who may get double sometimes but not consistently yet. That's why PFF and football "analytics" in general are flawed. I think PFF and football outsiders and these analytics are somewhat useful data points I think because there are so many moving parts and assignments that are unknown by whoever is watching. Always take PFF or any football analytics with a grain of salt.
