Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson failing good for QB market.
gjv replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll hazard a guess and say you think QB contracts are becoming too rich, and with Wilson and Watson not meeting expectations, owners will be unwilling to continue the current escalation of QB contracts. I'm afraid you will be disappointed if that's what you're hoping for. As long as League and team revenues continue to rise so will player contracts. Therefore, with QB being the most important position on a team, QB contracts will probably continue to escalate faster than any other position. It will be interesting to see what Burrows and Herbert's contracts yield. -
My error. The Bengals should be above the Chargers.

Leslie Frazier expected to be "in the mix" for Broncos HC job
gjv replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Frazier has earned a chance to be an HC. On a selfish note, I don't want to see him leave his role as DC with the Bills. I think he has done an outstanding job crafting top defenses year after year with average to above-average talent. -
I'm hoping Bijan Robinson falls to us in the upcoming draft. Wonder what Beane will do.

Baker Mayfield: QBing not so hard with competent head coach
gjv replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
I expect Baker Mayfield to be the starting QB for the Jets next season. -
Don't think White is fully recovered. He wasn't his typical demonstrative self with the official after being push-off interfered with by Waddle.

Perhaps it's the water in DC that plays havoc with cognitive function.

From afar, Cook doesn't appear to be acclimated to the NFL.

How has the AFC East suddenly become the best division in football?
gjv replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not a big secret why AFC EAST has become the best division. Bills are the most complete team in the division and maybe the NFL. Belichick has done what he has done for the past 20 years and built a very competitive team. Other than QB, Joe Douglas has done a fantastic job building a roster for the Jets. And, Chris Grier has surrounded Tua with outstanding talent via free agency. -
The Bills defense has been playing with 45% of its opening season starting roster unavailable. I'm familiar with the adage "next man up". But typically the next man up isn't as good as the player he is replacing. That's why I'm tipping my hat to Frazier and his staff. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Bills defense is playing with 45% of their starters not available. Yes, I know about the "next man up" thing. But the next man up is usually not as good as the player starting. That being said, I have to tip my hat to Lesli Frazer and his staff. I think they're doing one hell of a job.

Keep Cleveland under 110 yards rushing.

I would think if they are letting him play, Allen’s elbow is 100% healthy. Don’t want to see his elbow in ice after the game.

Let's hope Brown stays healthy for the remainder of the year. I think he's our best run-blocking lineman.

How much on Sunday will be an evaluation of Brandon Beane?
gjv replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allie’s injury should reiterate to Beane and McDermott that the Bills offense needs a RB that opposing defenses need to game plan for. That addition would be the final brick to an unstoppable offense. Not to mention, helping our offense when Allen can’t play. -
Before the beginning of the season, most NFL analysts were saying that the AFC West was the dominant division in the AFC. However, based on team records through week 9, the AFC East has immerged as the premiere division in the AFC. You have to tip your hat to Joe Douglas, Chris Grier, and Bill Belichick for improving their teams to such a high level that they can now compete with the Bills. Each improved their team in their own way, Douglas through the draft, Grier through free agency, and Belichick through scheme. Based on the first nine weeks of the season, it's very likely 3 teams from the East will make the playoffs. That being said, I would expect every division east match-up going forward to be a playoff-caliber event. Beane and McDermott have done a great job in putting us at the lead of this pack. And the improved competition will only make the Bills better and more prepared for the playoffs. Even better, this new order is great for all four fan bases. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
