The misuse of Cook and Hines was borderline criminal
gjv replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
From afar it appeared it took Cook more than half the season to get mentally acclimated to the NFL. Hopefully, that's all behind him and he's now mentally prepared to become the back we are all hoping for. -
Joe Douglas has shown a propensity to keep his draft picks and pass on deals if he feels are too draft pick costly. Based on that, I think the New York Jets will have either Jimmy Garoppolo or Baker Mayfield on their roster next season.
-
Should Bijan Robinson fall to the Bills in this upcoming draft, Beane and company should sprint to the podium, thanking their lucky stars all the way, to select Bijan. An RB of his talent coupled with Josh Allen would almost be an unfair offense. Certainly, we have needs on the Oline and secondary. But in my opinion, Robinson's upgrade to our overall team won't be available at another position. Not to mention, a back like Robinson can be the center piece of an offense should Allen not be available.

Last week I was hoping for a big game from our front 4 because Miami had starters out on their Oline. It never materialized, we had to blitz to get pressure on Thompson. Hopefully, this week our front 4 delivers. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Jackson would give Miami, not Baltimore, a hometown discount.

If what you say is true, and the consultant's conclusion was a 1.5 billion dollar stadium has the same impact on ancillary investments as a new target in Buffalo 1st ward, then once again the people of WNY got shafted. What's even more alarming is that the people are so docile and gullible to believe that nonsense.
-
I wonder if "they" are the same people that are responsible for the economic prosperity of WNY. I don't have a report, but economic logic kind of dictates that ancillary benefit to a capital project is more likely where your greater population and infrastructure are located. But of course "they" have done such a great job with the economy of WNY, we should not second guess.

Not so sure it's McD's system;https://www.buffalobills.com/news/a-defensive-mind-how-bills-dc-leslie-frazier-crafted-a-modern-nfl-defense-while- Sure some want him to leave but that's an opinion that lacks a basis from a performace standpoint . Cheery picking 3rd round pick pro bowlers is cute, but it doesn't change the fact that most 3rd round players do not become pro bowlers. Most, unfortunately follow in career path of Moss. Frazier, this season, has had on average 5 starters out most games and his defense ranks in the top 10. Not to mention that since he's been DC, the Bills have been a top 10 defense in the NFL. But I guess outstanding DC are just hanging around so we can get one to adequately fill in.

I believe the Powers to Be in planning and approving the new WNY stadium made an economic blunder by not putting the stadium in downtown Buffalo. In my opinion, the ancillary economic benefit of the stadium would have been much greater for WNY in the downtown location than in Orchard Park.

Frazier has certainly earned another shot at being a HC. From a selfish standpoint, I don't want to lose him. With that being said, there isn't a third-round pick that comes close in value compared to having Frazier as our DC.

Thanks, I appreciate the time you spent helping me.

Rumor: McDaniel could be fired if Fins lose to the Jets and miss playoffs
gjv replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
I understand Steven Ross would like to have Jim Harbaugh be the head coach of his team. McDaniel has a 4-year contract reportedly worth 45mil. Perhaps Ross just keeps paying McDaniel and hires Harbaugh. Ross certainly has the money to do what he wants. -
Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson failing good for QB market.
gjv replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll hazard a guess and say you think QB contracts are becoming too rich, and with Wilson and Watson not meeting expectations, owners will be unwilling to continue the current escalation of QB contracts. I'm afraid you will be disappointed if that's what you're hoping for. As long as League and team revenues continue to rise so will player contracts. Therefore, with QB being the most important position on a team, QB contracts will probably continue to escalate faster than any other position. It will be interesting to see what Burrows and Herbert's contracts yield. -
My error. The Bengals should be above the Chargers.

I have it as of this week; Philly Bills Chiefs 49ers Chargers

Leslie Frazier expected to be "in the mix" for Broncos HC job
gjv replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Frazier has earned a chance to be an HC. On a selfish note, I don't want to see him leave his role as DC with the Bills. I think he has done an outstanding job crafting top defenses year after year with average to above-average talent. -
I'm hoping Bijan Robinson falls to us in the upcoming draft. Wonder what Beane will do.

Baker Mayfield: QBing not so hard with competent head coach
gjv replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
I expect Baker Mayfield to be the starting QB for the Jets next season. -
Don't think White is fully recovered. He wasn't his typical demonstrative self with the official after being push-off interfered with by Waddle.

Perhaps it's the water in DC that plays havoc with cognitive function.
