  1. Looks great but you're missing one key point - Buddy Nix is outspoken that he does not understand the trade value charts and prefers to sit where he is at and pick; unless at age 74 he has now decided he feels comfortable moving around in the draft. He did hint earlier this year he might move UP to get a QB but that was it. We will stay at #8 and pick a pass rusher (OLB or DE), CB or reach for a QB if they fall in love at the combine.
  2. I think Sanchez is a worse player and got the bigger deal so at first that made me lean towards that deal. But, Sanchez was a 1st round pick that took them deep into the playoffs multiple times. Fitz was a 7th round backup QB brought in to be a 2nd-3rd stringer for his 3rd team. The Bills bought high and will sell low on this one. Not only that but this commitment made the Bills pass on some quality QBs in both the 2012 draft and 2012 FA markets forcing us to reach for a guy in 2013, which we will.
  3. We will be lucky if we tag Byrd, sign Levitre, get a Matt Moore type of QB and don't completely blow the draft.
  4. If you like any other team as the Bills as primary - odds are your top 5 friends do not like them. Not really unexpected - nobody likes the Bills. Also indicitive of the teams that get all the media coverage.
  5. Right now with Chandler out, Lee Smith is our starting TE... ouch. Let's hope we actually address this position for the first time ever
  6. Agree that people need to back off the stud. Where I disagree that in 2009 the Bucs were by far the worst team in the league - even the Bills smashed them which is saying a lot. The Raheem Morris years were a joke as well. This guy needs a good coach and system and he has the potential to do great things. Not saying we will make him into Jim Kelly - odds are we develop him into a UFL quarterback like all the others.
  7. There's this kid in middle school - hear me out - he's already like 5'4" and he's still growing and, like, we might totally have a shot at drafting him 8 years from now...
  8. OP - agree with your post. I think you missed one important point though - if we sign another veteran like a Alex Smith type of player I think he gets cut. They will go with 1 B-C list veteran, 1 D list like a Thigpen and 1 rookie.
  9. He's a 1st round talent no doubt but the scenario looks like this: Give up first round pick which costs $2-3 million to sign the guy. Pay Revis $12 million. That's a $10 million swing. So you're almost talking about a 1st rounder plus $10m that could be spent on another player. That's basically a 1st rounder plus Mario for Revis. IMO that's not worth considering.
  10. Has Mayock even watched him play for like one freakin series? Nassib is a body-builder who plays football and might be the strongest player on Cuse period. His arm strength is probably his #1 positive. In fact, the debate should be whether his strength is actually a negative. As a Cuse fan I've watched all his games and his #1 weakness is that he doesn't have touch on his short throws because he is simply too strong. He throws a 4 yard screen pass 100 mph.
  11. Brace yourself.... we will take Nassib at #8 if he's there. And that's a big IF. This guy will move up the boards in a weak skill position draft
  12. Maybe we can convince him Buffalo is a winning franchise... If we tweet him some pictures of the late 80's/early 90's Bills he might fall for it
  13. You guys are crazy. He was the #3 pick in the draft if he could have come out last year. I still believe he is going to end up as a first round pick despite the issues. Gamechangers get picked in the first round and that's what he is. He played in the SEC and flat out dominated the best competition on defense and special teams. If we are lucky enough to get him, he instantly starts for us and becomes one of our best players on defense.
  14. Good points on the defense but overall I disagree. I went to a bunch of Miami Ohio games when Big Ben was on the team and he completely dominated. Dude was hitting receivers in stride 40 yards down the field and nobody could match up with his toughness. I haven't watched as much of Dysert but from what I have, it's not a close comparison. Big Ben was a top 5 pick that got pushed back in the draft because he was from a small school. This kid is a 3-4th rounder that is getting pushed up the boards because of Big Ben's success. Different story.
  15. I think it's a huge benefit that Marrone coached Nassib and also scouted Geno Smith, Matt Barkley amongst others coming out. If someone is going to make the QB decision I'm glad Marrone is involved because he's going to have a real good idea who's legit and not.
  16. There is hate for Poz all over this thread... I get it that he's not Patrick Willis but Poz would easily be the best LB on the Bills right now and it's not even close. That said, Tao got a reality check last night
  17. My guess is it had something to do with the 11 sacks last week...
  18. He's better than what we have but I'm not sure he's a Buffalo guy. Good analysis though.
  19. Someone in their mid 60s to mid 70s who hasn't had a winning season in a decade plus.
  20. So now, at age 73, Buddy feels comfortable trading up and down the draft board when he hasn't in his first 72 years of life?
  21. Right when they drafted Spiller they said they would start him off easy and feel he will be essentially rested for when they have a playoff team. I still think they are still using this philosophy but they can't talk about it because they said they would have a playoff team by now
  22. He's awesome!! We should give him a big guaranteed raise and extend his contract to show we are really committed!!!
  23. Actually I would think the opposite. When you are down against the Colts and need points, be more aggressive and hit the 50 yarder. When you are up big, play more conservative. Chan doesn't seem to get this. We've blown games we should've been more conservative and won (Titans 2012, Giants 2011 come to mind) by playing aggressive with deep INTs, and finished weak in games that were on the table.
  24. That was an expensive insurance policy. $2m to sit behind the worst LB core in football...
