Could the Raiders Get Jairus Byrd from Bills?
Billy in 4C replied to ALF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The season is over and Byrd is gone at the end of the season. If you don't think you can sign him and don't want to use the franchise tag - trade him. -
Today - Romo. Long-term - neither.

Super Bowl halftime performer will be....
Billy in 4C replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's a good thing that they keep putting halftime acts that men don't want to watch. Gives me more time to take a leak and get a beer -
Fitz numbers from Sunday per PFF

What would his numbers look like if he didn't have a good offensive line and run game?... scary -
Shawne merriman is back with the Bills
Billy in 4C replied to superbills315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was owed $3m for 2012 guaranteed. He will get that either way whether he plays or not. The question is whether he gets the $3m plus the veteran minimum. Does anyone know for sure? I'm assuming there is some incentive for him to play besides a "next deal". I would bet he just picked up another $500k+ from us. -

Do we pick up his old contract or continue to pay the guaranteed plus whatever his new contract was? I'm assuming this is costing us his old contract plus new money. -
Already lost our 5th rounder from last year's draft... The guy barely played for us.

Remember, Fitz was the 3rd string QB behind Losman and Edwards. Losman who went on to have a fine career with the UFL Las Vegas Locamotives and Edwards who is currently sitting 3rd string in Philadelphia. He barely beat out Brian Brohm who is currently the starting QB of the UFL Las Vegas Locamotives. I don't know why fans had these dilusions that in his late 20s he would instantly become an average starting quarterback. He will be out of football altogether within 3 years like every quarterback we've had since Kelly.

Start Fitz VS The Titans, Smith vs Houston & NE
Billy in 4C replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brad Smith's Buffalo Bills career passing stats: 0-2, 2 Ints.... no thanks on being the starting QB. -
Powell might seriously be the best player on the team. Closely followed by Sanborn and McKelvin (only on special teams). Spiller and Chandler 4th and 5th.

Quote by Dareus says it all
Billy in 4C replied to Hazed and Amuzed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dareus looks like a blown pick. He has been manhandled this year and seems to have no fight in him. A couple years from now we will be talking about how we passed on some elite players to get an average DT. -
The Gailey Era Is All But Over
Billy in 4C replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has to go .500 in the division, that means beating NE, NYJ and splitting MIA. -
It becomes a 6th round pick if he becomes active for 6 games or more. Expect to see TJ activated with 5 games left so we don't have to cough up the 6th rounder...

The difference between Jim Harbaugh and Chan Gailey
Billy in 4C replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed he doesn't know the inside of the Bills locker room. But for what it's worth his football resume is better than anyone on this board. He was also a broadcaster for 30+ years. He played the QB position at a very high level, so I'm going to take his opinion on the QB position and football with a good amount of respect. He told me when he used to prep for a broadcast he would watch 40-50 hours of film per week to get ready for the game. He still stays involved in the sport. Also for what it's worth he said RGIII will be the best QB in the league and the Redskins had him interview RGIII and watch tape. -

I'd like to disagree with him but I can't. And it's not B.S. because I had this conversation with him for 5 out of 30 minutes - the rest we did not discuss football. He says the organization is terrible from the top down and has no leaders. He said football is a testosterone sport and the Bills have Beta personalities running the progam, not Alphas. To your point about the locker room, I know a ton of people that are liked and well-respected but it still doesn't mean they are leaders. Dick Jauron is one of these guys - so is Chan and Fitz. -

Excellent point. Believe it or not, I was able to spend 30 minutes with Joe Theisman one-on-one two weeks ago and he said the Bills were the worst franchise in the league, hands down. He says there is no leadership from the two most important positions - QB and Head coach. He said until something changes there, the team will be terrible. Your point on confidence/cockiness is crutial. These positions need to be leaders. -
Of the Bills next 5 opponents, 4 are ranked as the top 6 teams in the league. All 4 of those games are away. We will be lucky to be 4-5 at that point. Most likely 3-6 or 2-7. http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2012/week/5

Mario Williams - Mr. Invisible - Explain it
Billy in 4C replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed - from what I am seeing they have been using Mario and Anderson in contain roles more than run stoppers. Mario has been starting way out wide and typically rushing outside. I think they are using him like this to take pressure of the young CBs on run defense and the weak OLBs we have. It's not like we have Antoine Winfield outside anymore where our DBs are making plays in the backfield. He's not making plays, but he's not exactly missing his assignments either. The problem with this system is exactly what the patriots exposed us on. We need LBs to step up and fill the holes in the middle if it is 3OL versus our 2 DT if we keep running the defense the way we are. If we keep playing the whole game in Nickel and Dime coverage they have those 5-10 yard runs available and the 8-12 yard pass wide open. The Patriots adjusted and we didn't... -
Agree on the one punt at the end of the game. He crushed it low and straight right at Cribbs and he got 25 yards on the return. Maybe that sealed his fate if he couldn't get the ball far without sacrificing hang-time. In terms of his conditioning though, I can't imagine he is out of shape. The guy runs marathons and iron-mans in the offseason and many players say he is probably the most conditioned athelete on the team. Maybe it was just age catching up to him regarding strength - to your point.

In all seriousness, who will be our field goal holder? Moorman has done that for years. You now have a new holder who most likely won't be Fitz or Thigpen (about to be toast). Will it be Brad Smith??
