  2. Tim Tebow is officially an unrestricted free agent. As expected, all 31 other teams took a pass on Tebow after the Jets put him through the NFL’s waiver system, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. As a result, Tebow is now free to sign with any team. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/30/as-expected-tim-tebow-clears-waivers/

  4. Byrd will NOT be starting week 1. this is going to be a long drawn out process. it's going to get ugly. I say he reports around week 10 just in time to get credit for a vested year.
  5. I think it's on Kolb to beat out EJ Manuel. if they are equal, then start EJ.

  8. the Jets totally screwed Tebow by waiting to cut him after the draft. if they had cut him a week ago, a team may have taken a chance on him.

  18. MYTH : Jerry Sullivan will hate the pick. Jerry Sullivan: Credit Bills for taking bold path On Thursday night, the Bills lived up to that promise. They got their franchise quarterback, E.J. Manuel, a prospect who lacked the polish of some of the other college passers on the board but possesses the athletic talent and potential to be a star in the NFL. Buddy Nix had said all along that it was time for the Bills to get their franchise quarterback. He said there were two or three franchise QBs in this draft. Nix also said it was a scary prospect to trade away the teams No. 8 overall pick to move back and collect more picks. But he took the risk, anyway. The Bills moved out of the eighth spot, sending the pick to St. Louis for the Rams; first-rounder (No. 16 overall), plus the Rams; second- and seventh-rounders. The teams swapped picks in the third round, with the Rams moving up seven spots. Nix took the chance that no one would take a quarterback between Nos. 8 and 16. In recent days, there had been a lot of buzz that the Jets, who had the ninth and 13th picks after trading Darrelle Revis, would take a quarterback to help them move away from Mark Sanchez. The Bills didnt care. They made the deal with the Rams. It was a pretty solid gamble, and it worked out. They got Manuel and an extra second-round pick that will help build depth into a roster that desperately needed it. It was a shrewd maneuver, the kind the Bills have failed to execute too many times over the past decade or so. You wonder if they might have moved back, collected an extra pick, and still gotten Aaron Maybin, Leodis McKelvin or Donte Whitner. Instead, they gave away picks to make dubious moves up the board for the likes of J.P. Losman and John McCargo. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130426/SPORTS/130429362/1004
  19. Sorry, wrong number: E.J. Manuel gets early phone call meant for third pick Dion Jordan: Manuel was taken offguard earlier in the night, however, when someone accidentally dialed a wrong number and gave him a slight rush of excitement over the possibility of top 5 money. Here's what Manuel told the Dan Patrick Show on Friday (via the show's producer): E.J. Manuel said his green room hotline phone rang at pick 3. He got excited, then the voice asked if they could talk to Dion Jordan. Well, that must have been awkward. Did Manuel call Jordan across the green room and say "Uh, it's for you? It's the Dolphins?" Did he consider impersonating Jordan and say there's no way he'd take his talents to South Beach if drafted? Did he just say "wrong number?" http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/sorry-wrong-number-e-j-manuel-gets-early-145113384.html

  22. Just weeks ago, Tavon Austin's draft floor was seen at No. 16 overall with the Rams, but if St. Louis has eyes for the West Virginia wide receiver, they're in for a fight. NFL.com's Jeff Darlington spoke Thursday with two teams that believe they'll have to hopscotch the New York Jets with the NFL draft's No. 9 pick for a chance to land this year's most dynamic playmaker That alone might not do it. The Buffalo Bills, at No. 8 overall, have ranked Austin as the top player on their draft board, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The Bills haven't decided to use their pick on him yet, per Darlington, but Buffalo's bona fide interest in this electric receiver changes the game. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000163312/article/must-any-team-who-wants-tavon-austin-leap-ny-jets
