got a chuckle out of this.... Would you rather be thoughtless and successful or intelligent and frustrated? A recent article in the New Scientist addressed the never-ending ignorance-as-bliss debate with the following question: If being intelligent was an evolutionary advantage, "why aren't we all uniformly intelligent?" The obvious, unscientific answer: Probably for the same reasons we aren't uniformly good-looking. But is being smart always to your benefit? Are there instances when stupid works better? Stupidity can increase efficiency, claims Mats Alvesson, professor of organization studies at Lund University in Sweden. In a Journal of Management Studies article titled "A Stupidity-Based Theory of Organisations" Alvesson and colleague André Spicer explain how what they call "functional stupidity" generally helped get things done. "Critical reflection and shrewdness" were net positives, but when too many clever individuals in an organization raised their hands to suggest alternative courses of action or to ask "disquieting questions about decisions and structures," work slowed. The study's authors found that stupidity, on the other hand, seemed to have a unifying effect. It boosted productivity. People content in an atmosphere of functional stupidity came to consensus more easily, and with that consensus came greater roll-up-our-sleeves enthusiasm for concentrating on the job. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/the-benefits-of-being-stupid-at-work-190339721.html

always exceptions to the rule, Dan Marino is another example of someone who scored low and turned out pretty good. intelligence is not meaningless, its just another piece of the puzzle (for me, an important piece).
-
I think it's a big deal. to me, a low score is a good indicator as to someone who is more likely to make costly mental mistakes on the field.

Falcons trying to trade up in the NFL draftpapazoid replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives I agree with ya on the offensive line strength as evidenced by my Big Board: safest and surest picks in the draft: #1- Luke Joeckel #2- Chance Womack #3- Eric Fisher #4- Dee Milliner #5- Jonathan Cooper #6- Lane Johnson

Falcons trying to trade up in the NFL draftpapazoid replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives The Falcons really coveted a receiver in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft and they were eager to move up from the 27th spot. It was a blockbuster deal. In exchange for getting the sixth pick (so they moved up 21 spots), Atlanta gave the Browns five -- five! -- draft picks: their 1st- (27th overall), second- (59th) and fourth-round (124th) picks that year and their first- and fourth-round picks in 2012. NOTE:(they would move up 22 spots this year if they traded with buffalo, from 30th to 8th).

Two years ago, the Falcons made no secret in the days before the draft that they were looking to trade up to get a wide receiver, and they would eventually send two first-round picks, a second-round pick and two fourth-round picks to Cleveland so that they could draft Julio Jones sixth overall. That worked well enough that the Falcons are now trying to move up again. Peter King of Sports Illustrated reports that the Falcons are trying to trade up from their current first-round pick, which is No. 30 overall. King said he doesn’t know which player or players the Falcons are targeting, but they apparently like someone whom they expect to be off the board before No. 30 overall. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/17/falcons-trying-to-trade-up-in-the-nfl-draft/

probably 7th......nice player, but he comes with risk. he played DE in college but projects as an OLB in a 3-4 defense. most likely will start out as a pass rushing specialist and not an every down player in his first year. he has a bum shoulder and underwent surgery after the combine. all those first 6 players I mentioned start from day 1 and play all downs.

Aaron Williams moved to Safetypapazoid replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives you knew the move to safety was coming....no big surprise..... do the bills now take Dee Milliner if he's there at #8 ?
-
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracusepapazoid replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives not only will Nassib be picked with #8 .....(assuming he's still on the board). he will be the Opening Day Starter.....(he already knows the offense).

A Byrd in the hand is ALWAYS worth more than two in the bush..... Byrd is an Associated Press (AP) ALL-PRO....that makes him one of the Top 4 safeties in the league. what is the percentage of all first round draft choices that go on to become an AP ALL PRO ?? ANSWER: Of the 319 first-round picks taken in the last 10 years: 98 made at least one Pro Bowl (31 percent) 55 made multiple Pro Bowls (17 percent) In other words, less than a third of "can't-miss" prospects selected in the first rounds of the last 10 NFL drafts have gone to even one Pro Bowl. The percentages for the higher ALL-PRO designation are even less. STOP TRADING PROVEN TALENT FOR POSSIBLE FUTURE TALENT !!!!

Rapaport: don't expect Byrd to show up to workoutspapazoid replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives the Bills have the leverage......cap number for Safeties is low enough that they can tag him again next year.
