  1. Dont forget about his run game.. which is average at best. The interesting part comes in closer to the bottom where he compares Ryan's career to Peyton Manning (who also had no playoff success in his first 8 years) and to Tom Brady. In the case of Brady, if you were to reverse his career, people would be calling him a choke artist. Right now nobody does that because of his wins early in his career. Also, its easy to look at W/L record in the playoffs to criticize a QB.. but that isnt always the best way. In AFC championship 2 years ago, Flacco played well enough to beat the pats, but his kicker blew the game for him. The same goes for Ryan in this years playoffs. He played well enough to win, but because of the defense and a stumble from a receiver, he was the loser.
  2. Well the chiefs are definitely better right away.. good news for us too with 1 less team looking for a QB. I'm glad the bills didnt give up a 2nd for Smith.
  3. I think you need to read this... http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8864682/bill-barnwell-conference-championships
  4. You really have to give us your top 10 list if you're trying to make this argument. The truth is, Ryan is certainly in the top 10 and you can make the case that he's been playing better than Eli or Big Ben, which would only put him behind Rodgers, Brady, Manning, Brees and Flacco right now.
  5. I like the idea, but to be honest i dont think the QB and WR have to come from the same school. If they are drafted together and rookies together going through the same process that will be enough to create a connection (a la Dalton - Green). I say we take the best available if we're going to follow a QB/WR with the first 2 draft picks.
  6. I would much rather have Alex Smith for what would probably be a 3rd round pick at the highest. Mallet has proved nothing in this league..
  7. I like Barkley and would like to see the bills take him at 8 if he is there.. the USC thing doesnt bother me at all. What does bother me some is that he has had 2 of the best WR in the country for the past 2 years and hasn't thrown the lights out.
  8. If we take a QB that isnt named Geno.. I hope its Barkley.
  9. I wish there were more down field plays on that highlight.. the quickness and elusiveness is great but I'd like to see more of what he can do when the ball is in the air.
  10. I really wont be happy if they use the #8 overall pick on Nassib. Nassib will likely have a 2nd round grade and theres no reason the bills cant wait and get him at some point at the top of round 2 (either by staying or trading up).
  11. You say in your thread that the odds of finding a good QB in the 2nd round are just about as good as finding a QB in the first round outside of the first 4 picks, right? Do you want us to draft a QB in the first 2 rounds at all?
  12. You make it sound like it is relatively easy to find a "great QB" inside of the first 36 picks, which is not the case. Sure, there is a better chance of finding a talented QB in the first round, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt try to find talent in the later rounds. The fact is, its hard to find a franchise QB anywhere in the draft. We shouldnt limit ourselves to one round.
  13. How does that make sense? We're arguing that there is QB talent outside of the #36 pick.. if someone went undrafted they fit the bill. We've named 6 top 15 QBs in the history of the league that weren't drafted in the first 36 picks. You dont think that counts for anything?
  14. Joe Montana. Arguably the 2 greatest QBs in the history of the game were drafted outside of the first 2 rounds. Also.. Fran Tarketon, Warren Moon, Johnny Unitas to name a few more
  15. Hmm.. the eagles just signed Dennis Dixon (was at Oregon with Chip Kelly as OC). They now have 4 QBs on the roster (vick, foles, edwards, dixon). I could definitely see them cutting edwards, but they aren't going to carry 4 QBs during the season.
  16. If you're passionate about the game and you love playing it, you dont sit out a year just to avoid injury.
  17. Pretty crazy how much area the cowboys still command. The bills are definitely one of the smallest areas on that map
  18. Spiller just finished his 3rd year.. you're thinking of his 1st year only and he never looked as lost as Williams does out there. Still though.. you cant give up on him yet.
  19. Definitely a Pass Rusher or LB. Although if Dee Milner is there.. he would be tempting as well
  20. In the same light.. he has to be among the all time leaders in interceptions thrown before 25.
