  1. Maybe this is the problem.. Jerry's brother Larry is playing in his uniform!
  2. This. I couldn't believe he didn't bench Hughes. At a certain point you have to take a stand and let players know that there are consequences for acting like complete idiots after the play is over. This is one of the more frustrating games I can remember watching. Rex needs to rip into this team regarding the personal fouls and unsportsmanlike conduct.. its getting to be embarrassing.
  3. I'm sure the Seahwaks didn't "expect" Russell Wilson to be as good as he turned out.. but thats not the point. They still drafted him when every other team passed him up. You seem to be trying to take something away from the Bills for signing Taylor, when every other team had a chance to do the same. It doesn't matter how good they thought he was going to be, they made the move and look smart for doing it. In the end we don't know what they thought of Taylor, but its clear that Rex has liked him for quite some time. I think he deserves some credit for his role in this, because if he wasn't here, I doubt Taylor would be.
  4. Thats fine, but it was also Kiko's first game back in over a year. You would expect an adjustment period while he gets back into it. I guess I subscribe to the school of thought that you shouldn't pay for running backs. If Kiko is on this team instead of McCoy then we have cap space to resign all of our guys. Even if we were to lose a guy like Bradham the loss wouldn't be devastating. Just because we have 2 good linebackers doesn't mean we couldn't use 3. If Kiko was on this team, I'd be that all 3 of those guys see more than 80% of the snaps on defense. Why can't they all be on the field at once? Bradham has shown the versatility to play in coverage and rush the passer. Brown is solid against the run and the pass. We all saw what Kiko can do in coverage. We would essentially be replacing Manny Lawson with Kiko, which would certainly be an upgrade.
  5. I understand that, but we have the benefit of hindsight. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have McCoy, but if Williams is really as good as he's looked so far then McCoy becomes a luxury change of pace back. Also, that Kiko interception last night made me cringe.
  6. This above everything else makes the McCoy - Alonso trade look worse in my eyes. Who would you rather have, McCoy or Kiko and Karlos?
  7. Obviously the offensive line is still a huge question mark. Other than that you might be on to something.. lets hope the line holds up!
  8. I like Taylor as much as the next guy.. but talk about counting your chickens before they hatch.
  9. Call me crazy but I could see our starting tackles next year as Henderson and Kouandjio. They might be preparing to let Glenn walk.
  10. So.. if we cut Cassell and O'Leary we'll be set for week 1? (assuming Dez Lewis has been cut)
  11. I think Bryce Brown is undoubtedly a better runner than Fred Jackson at this point in his career. Fred still has vision but is really starting to slow down. Bryce has game breaking speed and shows good instincts. That being said, the Bryce haters do have a point. Fred brought immeasurable leadership qualities and toughness to the team, none of which Bryce has shown. Either way, when it comes to on the field for week 1, I'd rather have Bryce starting over Fred.
  12. As good as Sammy might be a blocking, he's still 30 lbs lighter than the TEs you would have him replace. That weight matters when you're going up against NFL linebackers. Also, I don't expect that this coaching staff will want to put their stud, injury prone WR in a position where he's constantly being mauled. I do think we'll see a lot of Kouandjio in on heavy sets as a 3rd tackle.
  13. Also, in years past it wouldn't have made much of a difference. When we had Gilmore and McKelvin/Graham those guys were more or less interchangeable from a talent standpoint. You could be right for the opener if there are clear matchups that Rex wants to stick with.
  14. I don't think I've seen Gilmore play anywhere but the right side of the defense (left side of the offense). He hasn't been a Revis type that follows the best receiver wherever he goes on the field. He has been more like Sherman, staying on one side of the field and locking it down. That said, its possible that Rex will mix it up. But based on what I saw in the preseason it will be Gilmore on one side, Darby on the other.
  15. If they colts are smart they'll have Andre Johnson (6'3) on Darby's side and Hilton matched up against Gilmore. Neither of those matchups are great for the Bills from a size / speed standpoint. I'll be curious to see if Rex has any tricks up his sleeves. He seems to be comfortable sticking with Darby based on his presser comments, but he may be blowing smoke and planning to move Graham to corner if McKelvin isn't back for the first couple of games. From a common sense standpoint that seems to make the most sense. You keep Aaron Williams back as the deep safety and bring in Duke Williams who will play in the box for the majority of snaps. I'll be very curious to see how they line up on the first defensive possession. Either way they have to be ready to adjust if Darby can't pull his weight.
  16. "Even T-Mobile prefers AT&T" The possibilities are endless
  17. The "one mode of attack" you're referring to happens to be one of the best in the league. They also added a proven commodity at running back in Frank Gore after years of the miserable Trent Richardson. You don't get to the AFC Championship game with 3 talented players. The Colts roster is better than you're giving them credit for. No one is saying that the Bills are doomed, just that we should be underdogs in this game.
  18. I think the line (+3) sounds about right. We are missing our best player for the game. If our defense comes out and shuts down Luck and co, I'd start to rethink giving Dareus $100 million. But the truth is that our defense isn't as good when he's not on the field. The offense is going to have to put up points for us to win this one. The turnover battle is going to be huge.
  19. I'm surprised more people don't have cam newton on their list. He's 26 and has been very good despite a very average supporting cast. He's got all the tools and is only going to get better. If I'm starting a franchise today it's: Luck Rodgers Wilson Newton Ryan
  20. In addition to the messages described above, before the start of the 2014-15 season, McNally referred to himself as “the deflator” and stated that he was “not going to espn……..yet.” On May 9, 2014, McNally and Jastremski exchanged the following text messages: McNally: You working Jastremski: Yup McNally: Nice dude....jimmy needs some kicks....lets make a deal.....come on help the deflator McNally: Chill buddy im just !@#$in with you ....im not going to espn........yet
  21. Seems like Philly fans are just as upset about the trade and are starting to doubt chip kelly.. That's probably a good sign right?
