  1. Well the numbers certainly point to EJ as needing to take some serious steps in year #2 if he is to be a successful NFL QB. It may be true that he doesnt have the best weapons in the league, but he certainly has enough at his disposal to improve on the atrocious sack numbers (especially if we add a WR or TE early in the draft). Like many things in the NFL.. this comes down to the QB. We'll find out in the next year if EJ is the answer or if he's just another Joe Schmoe.
  2. They are 2-0.. But there's blood in the water
  3. I agree you can practice for some this stuff, for instance stripping the ball. But a lot of it just comes down to luck. When the ball is on the ground, there is much you can do to train for recovering a football.. especially if you want to avoid injury.
  4. Grantland's Bill Barnwell wrote a pretty interesting article today, http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9459928/which-losing-nfl-teams-poised-make-playoffs The only thing I can really point to with the Bills is their fumble recovery rate. History tells us that teams will recover about half of the fumbles that hit the ground in their games from year to year, but Buffalo managed to pick up only 30.6 percent of the fumbles in its contests last year, which was the worst rate in football. This is a piece from the Bill's section (he ranks them at #6th most likely to make the leap). Fumble rate is something that I would have never realized if it wasn't pointed out. I find it hard to believe that he thinks the Jets/Browns are more likely to make the playoffs than the Bills.. but I guess thats my bias showing.
  5. There we go... #28 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000167370/article/top-100-plays-of-2012-plays-2130
  6. I'm trying to think of this in terms of what would scare the defense the most. I think having both CJ and Fred on the field, with the option to split CJ out wide would definitely cause problems for opposing D's. CJ is definitely one of those players that you pay attention to him no matter where he is on the field. With that said, my group looks like: Spiller Johnson Jackson Woods Chandler
  7. Hoo Boy.. thought it said "Stevie has broken his back.." That's a relief.
  8. Every team overpays? You know who doesnt overpay? The Steelers. You know where our GM came from? The Steelers.
  9. Eh I dont think thats true.. Santonio Holmes catch in the superbowl comes to mind.. perfect throw and catch. Also Lee Evans helmet grab.
  10. Wow.. I'm surprised that you guys don't think it will be on the list at all. I think Stevie's catch is definitely better than any of the other one handed catches on the list so far. The fact that he was running across the field and had to reach back and high for the ball makes it super difficult. Kirby.. glad we agree on this one!
  11. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000112189/WK-15-Can-t-Miss-Play-Stick-to-Stevie After the discussion of CJ on the "Top 100 Players" list, I got to wondering where this play would land on the "Top 100 Plays of 2012" list. They're already at 41, but I cant imagine this getting left out. Also.. what a great play, too bad it had to come in a blowout. Where do you think it will land on the list?
  12. What makes you think Gronk and Graham are not going to be on the list?
  13. I think you are severely underrating Frank Gore. He was a leader on one of the best teams in the league and has been a top 10 running back for the past 7 or 8 years. I'm sure he's widely respected throughout the league as a guy who works hard and can do everything you want in a back. If anything, this list proves that its hard to jump up the list after just one year. Look at Alfred Morris' numbers last year and explain to me how he can possibly be the 10th best running back on this list after what he did last year. The truth is, its based on more than just one year. CJ had a good year last year and if builds on that this year, I'm sure he'll be on this list in 2014.
  14. Hey I hope you're right, but I don't think he'll get the nod over players like Doug Martin and LeSean McCoy. Also, I'm not sure how many running backs are left (I think its 5 now?). But he's definitely behind Peterson, Foster, Rice, Lynch and Charles. He'd probably even be behind Gore and Forte. Truth is, I just dont think he got enough touches last year to be considered ahead of those workhorse guys.
  15. I think people who expect CJ and Byrd on that list are going to be disappointed
  16. I dont think anyone will complain about this signing. At the very least its solid depth with the potential for a solid starting LG.
  17. Well I'm certainly not taking him over peterson.. I excpect CJ to finish the year with around 1400 rushing yards, 500 receiving yards and 9 combined TDs. I think he'll be close to a top 5 back.
  18. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap2000000205548/The-most-epic-six-minutes-in-sports Pretty cool video of the season highlights
  19. Too bad Evans was on bad teams for his whole career... He had some serious talent. But yea.. Moulds
  20. Awesome video.. I wish they had a half hour long special I could watch
