Early Bills/Chiefs line: Bills +1(UPDATE: Now Bills -3 post KC/LV Game)
Magox replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow! What an absurd movement in the line. That’s crazy, everyone and their mothers must have been taking the Bills. No doubt that the Bills are the team that the public believes is the best in the NFL. -
Rosen to Watkins What could have been….

It’s not guaranteed and probably could be restructured. If he could be had for a third rounder and he helped this team win a SuperBowl, a one year rental to possibly help win it all for a third rounder would be worth it.

I don't think he made a big difference in this game. The Steelers saw that the 5-10 yard passes to the boundary near the sidelines was there for the taking because of how far off the DB's were playing off the receiver. The strategy was to not give them explosive plays, and nothing up the middle and to their credit they recognized that vulnerability early on. The Bills were for the most part ok giving up those plays until they got to the red zone at which point they clamped it down.

How good are Edmunds & Milano this season? Cover1 breaks it down.

This thread is going to make some people angry. -
Edmunds with a hamstring? Hope it’s precautionary

I hate to see families get broken up. Kids being involved at the age they are is tough and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I think Tom loves the game and everything that surrounds it so much that he just couldn’t let go and it is coming at the expense of his family. He truly is a one of a kind, no player could match his mentality and even though it helped him propel his career there wasn’t enough room for much else.

Allen is the Bills only short yardage option
Magox replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, they are going to have to mix it up and disguise looks and formations, switch up snap counts all sorts of things but at the end of the day they have to to be able to run the ball some with their RB's with some sort of level of success. Have to find a way to get the opposing teams linemen to not just fire off and push the O line back into the backfield. -
Allen is the Bills only short yardage option
Magox replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a real problem fand is the only true weakness on this team but a potentially costly one. I have very little confidence that on short yardage situations that the team can get the push that it needs to consistently get first downs running the ball with their RB's. They either have to somehow get this fixed during the course of the year or look at alternative ways to get the yards needed. Having Allen does afford a lot of other viable alternatives but having your meats and potatoes approach of smashing it ahead for a yard or two should be your #1 option and without that option it can create problems. I'm certain in the offseason the Bills will draft a couple O-linemen in the early to early mid round picks but have to figure out a way around it for this year. -
I see lots of people arbitrarily wanting White to start later on. He should play when he's ready, you can put him on a snap count and I think that would make sense so that his body gets used to actual football movements but there is no reason not to play him if he's ready.

Bills once again tops in the league at 4th down decision making

Same can be said of Shaq Lawson, if he doesn't get pressure and cause Lamar to back peddle as much as he did then the throw he has to make doesn't have to go from as far with as lobbed of a throw which most likely means the pass goes for a TD. Same can be said of Rousseau, if he doesn't have contain with his pass pressure, Lawson's pressure most likely would have caused Lamar to scramble out to the side where he threw the ball making it a much easier pass. Often times we see a player "make the play" but in reality the teamwork involved helps that play become possible.

Never saw this angle. This was right at the end.

What a nightmare for a rookie QB to go against this Bills defense that disguises their coverage so affectively for their very first start.

He's not just a heat seeking missile...

This team is absolutely loaded at the DB spot. White, Jackson, Benford, Elam and Taron. That probably is the best 5 CB combo in the league and when you look at the safeties it's the same, Hyde, Poyer, Hamlin and Johnson. We are stacked with DB's which is why we can have multiple injuries on this front and still perform at a high level.

Well, when you lose 3 o linemen and 2 WR’s depth becomes a problem no matter who you are. Look at the Bucs
-
You make a very good point and I had never really thought about that. I agree that this is the tradeoff but in some of these close games maybe it's costing them. It's hard to know but logically it makes some sense. I went to the Jax game last year and I don't remember it being too hot. I believe it was somewhat overcast and I believe was in the middle of the year. This Miami game did feel different in terms of weather. At least the players reaction to it was, I don't ever remember seeing the offense look so exhausted as this game.

Kudos to Defense - The Offense is What Failed
Magox replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was just one of those fluky sort of games where we got the L. So many injuries going into the game, lots of injuries during the game, players dehydrated and gassed who didn't have anything left in the tank at the end. Not to mention all the missed opportunities by players and the perplexing elimination from the playbook of the QB sneak. That 2nd and 1 from the goal line and not just having Allen QB sneak with having Gilliam and Zack Moss there to push him in was for me the most frustrating part of the game. That 3rd and 22 that they converted I don't put on Frazier or McD, Waddle made a very nice cut to the middle he sold the post and that is where the Safety bit and turned him around. Even though that was a hugely impactful play, I chalk that up to being a great play call and execution. The defense played really well, despite not being able to get consistent pressure. The Bills are clearly the better team, but with all these mishaps, weather and injuries it proved to be too much to overcome. Next time the Bills will blow them out. -
Because in the limited time he has played he has played well. He also always plays well in the pre season. You can read in the commentary from Bills players even former players who believe that Jaquan is a baller and just needs his opportunity to show it.

I sincerely doubt it. I think the Bills coaches rate Hamlin and Johnson much more so than some of our fans. I believe we won’t miss much of a beat with Johnson in, this is his time to shine.
