  1. Me too. I doubt that Roosevelt would clear waivers to make it back to the practice squad. If the Bills think he has a future then I'd dump Parrish. Not the big, physical receiver that the current staff is looking for; frequently injured; I think that Donald Jones will replace him in the passing game within one more year and the Bills have numerous options to replace him on special team. As you mention, they may even be able to get a draft pick for him.
  2. The problem is that it's tough to know if this is because the Bills DL is strong or because the OL is weak.
  3. I see practice squad as well. This is the first time I've heard his name in any training camp report so it doesn't seem that he's exactly tearing it up out there. The four ILBs (barring injury) will probably be Davis, Barnett, Sheppard and Moats. Since Torbor can play both inside and out he has a leg up over White if the Bills keep 9 which I think it probable.
  4. He'd probably struggle against him too.
  5. Because Faulk was better than Thomas. This too, although those Rams teams had some other pretty strong players as well. I don't think that all of the above are HOF players/coaches (IMO).
  6. I'm sure that he'll do well against Peppers.
  7. This was and is my take as well. Strangely enough, Wilson though Marv was too old to coach again. Frankly, based on what happened with Jauron, Wilson would've been better off hiring Marv as the coach.
  8. I'm sure he means that they are working out the terms for his release. At least I hope.
  9. "Oakland also filled their hole at quarterback, signing Trent Edwards. In Edwards’ return to the Bay Area, he’ll compete with Kyle Boller to back up Jason Campbell." I guess the days of quality backups are long gone...
  10. I don't know why they're wasting their time signing high profile free agents. Everyone on TSW knows that you can't get better this way.
  11. So he can't beat Kelsay out at OLB???
  12. Sounds like another case of sour grapes to me. Good thing that the Bills lucked out by not signing anybody given how everyone available stunk.
  13. For which team?
  14. The Bills are basically getting the a$$es handed to them in free agency. The other teams in the division, who were already better, are bringing in one top player after another while the Bills slide backwards. It doesn't really bode well for the season...
  15. This is trouble. It won't really affect the Bills that much though since they are not really a contender for the division. It's really between the Jets and Pats next season and if the Jets counter by signing Asomugha then I'd say they win out on paper.
  16. He's a solid player, so it's a loss but he is not a star and was never going to be a good fit in a 3-4 scheme. If the Bills spend the money to find a solid 3-4 replacement then everything will be fine. They'd better sign Florence though...
  17. That video is awesome.
  18. He's decent but not really worth a mid round pick unless you think that he could eventually become a top starter, which is unlikely. Also, I doubt that he would want to come here to backup Fitz. Maybe if he went to Indy he would accept a backup role, but not here. He probably goes to a team looking for a decent transitional starter like Seattle, Washington, Minnesota or Arizona.
  19. Another obscure moment that I really enjoyed was the Bills-Browns game from 2004. The Bills defense held the Brown to 0 net yards until their last possession of the game. When the TV crew flashed that stat on the screen as the Browns started their final possession the bar I was watching the game in came alive. I swear that it was like the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl with people urging the defense on. Unfortunately, the Browns gained a few yards on that possession and finished with 26 total net yards... still the lowest total that I can ever remember or even imagine in a professional football game.
  20. This case was about apparel licensing, but let's assume that this applies to all features of the NFL. How can the NFL and NFLPA agree on a rookie wage scale? College players aren't part of the union and should be able to negotiate their salary in a free market. They can't be forced to join the union to play in the NFL either. How is the rookie wage scale legal?
  21. These "top ten performances" get more ridiculous all the time.
  22. Sorry, but if you don't see anything wrong with the things he said or the way he said them then you really have no clue of how civilized people should interact with each other. I love how public figures make asses of themselves and then always claim that things were taken out of context. What context would his comments have been appropriate in? It always reminds me of how Charles Barkley claimed that he had been misquoted in his own autobiography when some of the comments in it became controversial.
  23. Exactly this.
  24. I just don't really agree with this. Football is a team game. When your team loses and your unit gets their hat handed to them you don't release a highlight reel of a given individual performance to show how well a player did. Maybe the Bills should release some highlight reels of their 4 super bowl losses that point out how well Thurman Thomas played in XXV or Andre Reed in XXVII. Maybe there are some hidden gems in those games that we didn't even notice. But what would be the point? Some players play well in all losses. I simply see this as filler until there is something to talk about.
