  1. Wow. The Oilers are rolling. No way they can blow this one...
  2. Didn't the Bills have almost all the same players from the team that had a 61.1 rating? Is it really the players?
  3. I see. All these threads regarding the draft blend together after a while. Thanks.
  4. This has always been my thinking too. It's really an archaic rule.
  5. How can anybody sign any free agents during the lockout?
  6. It's really all about Bell, IMO. If he can step up and become a solid LT the Bills line will be a very strong group within another year.
  7. I'm really just questioning the 3-1 TD/INT ratio as a metric for accuracy, decision making and success. Why don't you look up some QBs and find me some with a 3-1 ratio? Joe Montana achieved it ONCE in his entire career and he was pretty accurate, a good decision maker and a winner I think
  8. Most of this goes without saying. I do question the 3-1 TD to INT ratio however. I appreciate what the writer is saying but that's not the kind of QB that Fitz is. He is more of a gunslinger and he will NEVER reach 3-1. That doesn't mean that he can't win. Neither Aaron Rogers (the Super Bowl champ) nor Peyton Manning (the best QB in the NFL, IMO) achieved a 3-1 ratio last season.
  9. Where does face to face communication fit it?
  10. Can Brohm use this as an excuse too?
  11. I'm trying to understand why the Bills would be looking for someone who stinks as a third QB. Losman? Gradkowski? Maybe the Bills should be looking for someone who is actually good. Either a young player with potential or a veteran that can compete and be a solid starter. Looking for someone who won't mind spending his career as a backup to Fitzpatrick is not setting a very high standard.
  12. The rumors that I heard were that Nix didn't want Shottenheimer, not Wilson. I know that they worked together before. Supposedly, that was part of the problem...
  13. Maybe they aren't open.
  14. Then you sign him to a one year contract while you find his replacement via someone you drafted or free agency... or you could go old school and trade him to someone who agrees with what the player thinks he's worth and get talent in return.
  15. That's the one that I can't seem to shake. Bills pick off Fouts and just need a couple of first downs to ice the win... can't get them... San Diego gets it back and burns them with the deep post. Weren't the Bills down 7 in the Cincinnati game? That last drive was to tie, I believe.
  16. +1 You don't let starters go without having a replacement plan. What is the plan to replace Poz? Rookie LBs who haven't even practiced a day in the NFL yet? Or maybe it's career journeymen like Ayodele, Torbor or Davis? Wait until you have someone waiting in the wings who looks like an upgrade THEN release/trade your starter. Better yet, keep him as depth if you can afford it.
  17. Nix and Gailey got off to a good start by switching our defense to a 3-4 and doubling the number of holes right there. I think the next one to go after Poz should be Kyle Williams. He doesn't really fit the new scheme as he is not big enough to play NT. We could replace him with an undrafted free agent or 7th round draft pick.
  18. Glanville is the best. Maybe they should add Elvis to the staff to really put them over the top.
  19. Cookie might be above Thurman too. Simpson is the unquestioned #1 though.
  20. Mr. Blutarsky ... 0.0.
  21. Wow, Wilson looks very old and fragile in that video. It's sad, but I guess everyone gets old (if they're lucky).
  22. Lifting weights, sprinting and jumping is not football. Size and athleticism are a pre-requisites to play in the NFL but they don't really guarantee you of anything. You have to be able to play the game. We'll see if Jasper can if they ever play games again.
  23. I get it. The Bills should really have a 3rd RB on the roster in case of injury, but he will probably never play RB otherwise. So, it makes sense to draft someone who excels at special teams and can learn to be a role player/third down specialist. My only question: With all the bills needs, was a third RB the best thing available on the board?
  24. In the NFL, you have to earn your time on the field. You can't control the number of plays you get. You can control what you do when you are out there. If you do good things when you have an opportunity, you get more opportunities. That's the way it works. Coaches aren't going to give you lots of playing time hoping that you start showing something. Coaches are trying to win and can't waste plays hoping to see something from Spiller. I think this pass blocking this is a big red herring. Running back is one of the easiest positions to make the transition from the college to the NFL at. If you can run, you can run. Saying that his poor pass blocking is causing him to average almost a full yard less per carry that Jackson because defenses are keying on him is a stretch. I wonder if Adrian Peterson needs "the element of surprise" to be a threat in the running game. How were his rushing averages when Tavaris Jackson was at QB and Minny could throw the ball? Spiller needs to work on his running just as much as his pass blocking if he's going to see the field and remotely justify his draft position.
