  1. Given their respective histories one would think that Morrison would be getting snaps ahead of Davis, who is seeing considerable playing time. Also, Moats should've been playing OLB all year except he's "too small" and given the season he's having maybe Wilson should've been starting ahead of Whitner a long time ago. There are many other examples of players not getting the playing time that they appear to deserve. Not to mention the possibility that Morrison has an undisclosed injury. Your post is far to simplistic, as should be obvious.
  2. If this were only true...
  3. You people are WAY off. The Bills are all set at OLB. That's what Nix said.
  4. If the offseason rehab appears to go well then the Bills will probably bring him in and give him a chance to compete. He will be on a very short leash though since keeping him on the roster would be expensive. I doubt he makes it and the Bills need to finally start planning like he won't make it. That's my one objection to the way this was handled. I'm ok with taking a risk on the guy and giving him a chance, but there was no plan B. The Bills should've been planning for him not making instead of repeatedly saying that they were all set at OLB. The didn't draft a single OLB last season. That was crazy.
  5. Very reasonable. Johnson should be next since Jackson's deal will probably be the trickiest.
  6. Well he appears to be in better health than Shawn Merriman and he got another chance.
  7. Probably would not be a bad idea. OK then. It's up to Kelsay now. I know.
  8. When is the last time you saw Gailey do that??? I would be shocked to see many (any?) two TE formations. I think that the Bills wills start out with their regular offense and go from there. If Levitre is having trouble then maybe Chandler or back to his side to help but that's it.
  9. I think it's free as in without somebody trying to block it.
  10. He was pretty tough in man to man coverage, although he got roasted during that championship series against Jordan. All out as far as we have heard. Also Merriman. It sounds like the only returning player will be Kelsay.
  11. Madden used to talk about this all the time during his broadcasts... about how he was always waiting for the right opportunity to do this at the end of a game or a half.
  12. In the immortal words of another TBD denizen, I hope that you're wearing your flame proof underwear.
  13. But how many have WON a championship with two different teams? I can only think of Weeb Ewbank, although the first ones with the Colts were before the SB era.
  14. Edwards is not blame less, but consider that nearly all of the best players on the defense, are men that Buddy Nix inherited. Byrd, Wilson, Williams, Kelsay, etc. The only person that Nix has brought in over the last two years that has become an impact player is Barnett. Maybe it will take more time, but Buddy hasn't exactly made it rain with defensive talent.
  15. My thoughts: Buddy Nix is going to draft the the best player available at any position of need so I agree that no one position, including OLB, should be P1. Reduce LT- Hairston has shown a lot of promise. You may think that he's too big for LT but remember that Gailey really likes his OL big. Bell would be a good backup although he will probably walk if he loses his starting position so a backup/prospect is needed. Reduce DE- This is a very solid group. Only concern is lack of pass rush but this needs to start with the LBs. For DL, I think that Dareus, Carrington and Johnson are all decent pass rushers. Give Dareus and Carrington another year before judging them on their total abilities. Reduce NT- I get that the Bills need another NT, but Heard has shown promise and Williams is still an elite player when healthy. Give Troup one more year to pull it together. Always good to look for good DTs but not P2. Basically agree with the rest based on what we've seen to date.
  16. What I saw: There was no pressure on the late int. Fitz threw the ball on-time. He didn't set his feet, maybe because of earlier pressure. Three problems with the throw: ball was under thrown, too far to the inside and Webster is not Florence. I thought Levitre did pretty good given his situation. He's probably just as good as Hairston at this point in their relative careers.
  17. Is it not a fact that this may be true? It is true (perhaps even a truism) that something that is possible may be true. You can say that the word "fact" is unnecessary in the comment, but not that it is being used incorrectly or that it conflicts with the use of "may"
  18. What!!?!? Shocking news. RIP. This really makes me feel old... like a classmate dying or something.
  19. Hairston out Bell will be back Kelsey will be back Merriman ? Jones out
  20. Where do they rank K Williams, the Bills actual best defensive lineman?
  21. Fixed. Everything is an opportunity to reinforce a pre-determined political agenda.
  22. So, back to the question of the thread. Does anyone have word on Williams injury?
  23. I say go for it because you give yourself two chances to win the game: 1) get the first down and win in addition to 2) stop the Eagles and win. If you punt then it's just #2. If the Eagles needed a field goal, they you probably have to punt b/c you can't give them the ball near midfield but with them having to get the TD and time not really a factor (Eagles have 3 TOs), I would take a shot to see if my offense can win it.
  24. I can't agree with this. I think that Smith has done very little since he came here. The team is in desperate need of WR help but Smith, who is taking up a WR spot, can't even make a catch. He has stunk on special teams, which were supposed to be his specialty. And frankly, he has been mediocre in the "wildcat". I don't see him do anything out of that formation that Fred Jackson (or maybe even Spiller) couldn't do better. At this point, Gailey is using him correctly: two or three plays per game just to keep the opposition working on wildcat defense during the week. That's about it.
  25. Every week the announcers and the refs are against the Bills. It's amazing that they do as well as they do.
