  1. Because I enjoy football, it entertains me (at times) and it's something to talk about with friends from different parts of the country.
  2. Sell a product/service that is worth buying and at a price that is affordable to your target market. That's how I have to operate my business to get sales. I can't just cry that the public is not being faithful to my poor company or issue veiled threat that I may relocate if they don't shape up. As we've heard many times... it's a business.
  3. As they say around here... "Get 'R Done!"... Wannstache- DCs, Del Rio- LBs, Edwards-Equipment Manager
  4. I think that you have a pretty solid analysis, but I have two concersn: 1) I see "free agent" listed several times, but the current GM seems very reluctant to go after high quality free agents unless he is boxed into a corner (like when Poz left). I doubt very much that they will get a FA cornerback or LB or anyone else of significance. It will all come down to drafting and you only get 7 picks. As Nix says if you find 3 starters from each draft then you've done very well so a team that is 5-7 players away from being a contender is really 2 to 3 years away under good circumstances, let alone when you bomb your drafts like the Bills have recently. 2) I think your analysis of the Bills LBs in comparison to the Ravens is faulty. Which Bills LB would start for Baltimore? Maybe Barnett would be a situational player but other than that I don't see it. There is certainly no one close to Lewis or Suggs.
  5. Bring in Tom Olivadotti.
  6. Well, since SF is 9-2 and their defense is in the top 10 in the NFL in pass defense and total defense, I doubt that Whitner has been "a mess" in coverage.
  7. This. Didn't anyone learn anything from Matt Millen?
  8. I don't see anyone from that list that I think will make it. Reed is just a borderline candidate and special teams only players just don't make the HOF. Sorry for the downer opinion.
  9. Hairston will replace Bell for the next few games until Hairston gets injured again. Then Bell will go back in.
  10. Believe it or not, this statement gives me the most hope of anything that has been said or posted by anybody in relation to turning things arounds. NFL teams just don't get continuously blown out not matter who they are. Not even the 0-14 Bucs or 0-16 Lions got blown out week after week.
  11. Bell was inactive so I suspect he's still hurt. Hairston wasn't 100% either but apparently in better shape than Bell.
  12. I'll help you out, but are you sure you want to watch it?
  13. How many draft picks to they get again???
  14. I believe that he is a free agent at this point. If we pay him it may pave the way to getting his son however.
  15. My take: QB - Fitzpatrick Average HB - Fred Jackson Elite HB - CJ Spiller bad FB - Corey McIntyre Average WR - Stevie Johnson Above Average WR - David Nelson Average WR - Donald Jones Bad WR - Naaman Roosevelt Average He's played better than Jones whenever he has been in there, IMO. Not that big or fast but a solid depth player. WR - Brad Smith Very Bad Can't imagine him contributing less unless he actively starts to sabotage plays. TE - Scott Chandler Above Average Chandler is a solid TE. The first in a long time. T - D. Bell Average G - A. Levitre Above Average C - Eric Wood Above Average G - Craig Urbik Average Played decently until this week. T - Eric Pears Average Played decently until this week. Bill O needs an elite WR and above average OT, a legitimate QB prospect and OL depth.
  16. Didn't he have 0 tackles in that game? He was a major reason the Bills lost. The left side of the Giant OL basically worked Smith and Talley for most of that game. Still, he had many strong games and was a great player for the team over the course of his career.
  17. He didn't look like a double team sponge in the pre-season. He looked like someone who was very slow to react to what was happening around him. Just because he is big and strong, doesn't mean that he will be a good NFL football player.
  18. This is obvious, but one think that it doesn't factor in is Fred Jackson. Yes, the Bills passing game can be stopped for the above reasons but Jackson has averaged 4.7 ypc over the course of the season and 6.3 ypc over the last two weeks. He will be featured more but when it's 21-0 before all the fans can find their seats the running game is pretty much out the window.
  19. I don't care if he drinks in his off time, but if if affects his ability to do his job (practice) then it's a problem. Hopefully he'll learn from this and it wont happen again.
  20. From the article: "Bell is another under-the-radar player capable of protecting the blindside and is a vital piece to the Bills' offense with an expiring contract. Though he's an above average pass protector, he's an even better run blocker for the left side. The Bills have some work to be done to keep all of the pieces together, which could allow Bell to slip through the cracks into free agency." This doesn't jive with what I've seen or what Gailey has indicated in his time here. Given his injury history, mediocre run blocking, Hairston behind him, and the likelyhood of him demanding big $ in free agency, I doubt that he will be resigned.
  21. Frankly, I think that OLB, WR and CB are all co-equal priorities, with OT and DT right behind.
  22. Here's a link. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7213105/tampa-bay-buccaneers-claim-albert-haynesworth-waivers-new-england-patriots
  23. I think you're thinking of Rob Grownkowski, his brother.
  24. 1) Stop the run 2) Pressure the QB without heavy blitzing. 3) Make big plays in the passing game. PS- Dallas is not going to allow the Bills to establish the run. They's going to outnumber the Bills up front. Buffalo is going to have to make big plays against them.
