  1. I say go for it because you give yourself two chances to win the game: 1) get the first down and win in addition to 2) stop the Eagles and win. If you punt then it's just #2. If the Eagles needed a field goal, they you probably have to punt b/c you can't give them the ball near midfield but with them having to get the TD and time not really a factor (Eagles have 3 TOs), I would take a shot to see if my offense can win it.
  2. I can't agree with this. I think that Smith has done very little since he came here. The team is in desperate need of WR help but Smith, who is taking up a WR spot, can't even make a catch. He has stunk on special teams, which were supposed to be his specialty. And frankly, he has been mediocre in the "wildcat". I don't see him do anything out of that formation that Fred Jackson (or maybe even Spiller) couldn't do better. At this point, Gailey is using him correctly: two or three plays per game just to keep the opposition working on wildcat defense during the week. That's about it.
  3. Every week the announcers and the refs are against the Bills. It's amazing that they do as well as they do.
  4. The officiating has gone berserk. You can tackle defensive linemen on any play and it's not holding but this is a 15 yard penalty? Wow.
  5. The fact that this may be true highlights how few plays the front seven personnel have made so far this season.
  6. Stephen Ross is cheap. Ralph is not Stephen Ross. Therefore, Ralph is not cheap.
  7. How will they ever stop the Bills pass rush without him?
  8. Rex Ryan is twice the defensive mind that George Edwards is. If the Jets can get production from Joe McKnight on defense, a running back, then I think that they can get something out of Maybin. Ryan isn't worried about how big someone is. He just tries to put his players in position to use what abilities they have and make plays.
  9. Wtf does Laufenberg's completion % have to do with this? It doesn't take Joe Montana to see someone bouncing passes to their intended receivers. Laufenberg has either played or covered the NFL for 30 years. He has seen a few QBs in his time. For him to say that Tebow is the least accurate that he has ever seen says something to reasonable listeners.
  10. On the other hand I watched the Denver-Dallas preseason game and Babe Laufenberg, the Dallas color commentator and former NFL QB, said that he watched Tebow extensively in practice the week leading up to the game and that he was the least accurate QB that he has ever seen at the NFL level. He said that this included starters, backups and third stringers. In one drill, he watched him throw to receivers with no one covering them and he was "bouncing passes to them." That doesn't exactly sound like the description of a guy that will be the next Steve Young.
  11. That play reeked of panic. The right call would've been field goal, IMO. It's the first quarter. Get on the scoreboard. That kick is within Lindell's range. If it was 4th and 5 then maybe go for it, but the percentages on 4th and 14 are so low.
  12. You're on to something here. What if they started giving digital rectal exams in the Booty Lounge? Lots of men would be screened...
  13. Nice. Stadium tours and digital rectal exams. Who could refuse?
  14. Fitz, Jackson, Gailey, Campbell, the OL... Victory has a thousand fathers.
  15. Exactly what I was thinking. Do you really want Tom Brady to get injured trying to make a tackle? The best way for him to make it up is to lead his team to a TD on the next series (which he did).
  16. Bellicheck is no Rex Ryan from the podium.
  17. This. If the Bills beat the Pats then they are a lot better than I thought they were.
  18. So now Merriman gets injured during intros? It may be time to consider throwing him on the pile with McGee and Parrish.
  19. Even better, maybe he can start calling some games again.
  20. The Steeler OL did not look that solid last season.
  21. What is Brad Smith doing? He is never thrown to. He runs like 3 plays per game as a wildcat running back. I don't see how this is better than having another real wide receiver on the roster and using Jackson as the wildcat back.
  22. Merriman has done nothing these first two weeks to make me believe this. He's basically been invisible and that's a primary cause of the lack of pass rush from the defense.
  23. What were the percentages a few years ago when they were 5-1? Let's wait until we get through the first half of the season, then we'll see about playoffs.
  24. DJ must give a mean interview.
  25. Raiders aren't going to roll over and die like the Chiefs did. This will be a tough game and a real test for the run defense and offensive line- the Bills two weakest areas last season. We'll see how much has changed.
