  1. Yeah. That's going to last. Fitz will be starting by week 4.
  2. I think that Cassel is the favorite to start, IMO. He's the only one that has shown that he can play at a playoff level at some point I his career.
  3. Yeah, just look at the great job he did with the Bills OL while he was here. It may seem like there's only one direction to go, but I learned long ago that the expression "it can't get any worse" is a fallacy. It can ALWAYS get worse.
  4. It's been a long time since TBD had a good Rob Johnson discussion. It was time.
  5. I don't know which is worse- Greg Roman saying that the bill are the "benefactors" when he means the "beneficiaries", or Joe Buscaglia reporting it verbatim to make him sound stupid.
  6. Me too. This is what I thought too.
  7. What if Jeff Tuel wins the job in training camp and then leads the Bills to an undefeated season and the Super Bowl? Would people still be talking about the KC game?
  8. Honestly, I think that SI is past panic mode at this point.
  9. He always looked good in the preseason in Baltimore, FWIW... And Rex likes QBs who can get out of the pocket and run. I think Cassel is the favorite and EJ and Taylor are neck and neck behind him.
  10. I don't think so. I'm sure they're saying this because the Bills added more than one QB in the off season (and because they need something to write). I just don't think that means they're panicking. I think it's good to give yourself options, just like at any other position.
  11. I agree with that. The Bills may or may not be screwed at QB, but they are certainly NOT panicking (yet).
  12. That is awesome. Pats** fans are the best.
  13. I want to wish The Deflator luck on his diet. I just don't understand what all the new sneakers have to do with it...
  14. +1. Turner is a clown. It just shows you how pathetic the "reporters" are who cover this stuff that he gets air time.
  15. Robey is the slot guy, not Graham. I think McKelvin holds on to his starting spot and Graham takes over at safety. I haven't seen enough from Duke Williams to make me think he's a starter. One concern you have to have looking at the defense is that teams will try to run it down their throats. They don't have a true NT and now no Spikes in the middle. If their safeties are A Williams and Graham then I'd expect to see a lot of teams go at them between the tackles.
  16. I'm not sure what else I need to hear, honestly. Outside of Boston, I think most people accept that they deflated the footballs to gain a competitive advantage- real or perceived. I'm ready to move on.
  17. "Innocent"... please. Which one of them called himself "The Deflator" again?
  18. I thought the NFL was 90% zone blocking these days. No?
  19. Exactly. It really is a complete waste of time but they've gotta say something. It's what they get paid for.
  20. Because Brady is much more valuable to the league and league revenue that Hargrove. Also, they need to walk a fine line between appearing to be tough on cheaters but not making the deflating appear to be such a serious violation that it decided the outcome of games. They aren't vacating the win over Indy or the Super Bowl after all. I expect 4 games.
  21. I'm not sure where the rest of TBD fall on this issue, but personally, I'd rather the Bills never with a championship that cheat to get one. Why is winning a Super Bowl so important to fans that they'd cheat to do it? The Bills don't hand out any money or rings or anything to the fans. It makes no practical difference in their lives.
  22. I think my response was above your head. I think that your "nuanced" response is guilty of the same logical fallacy that you are accusing other people of. Perhaps you're too blind to see that.
  23. I understand that both of you are intimately familiar with the details of the current ongoing police investigation, but for the benefit of the rest of us without this insider knowledge, how about we wait until the results are in before we declare which group of fans have latched onto a narrative and refuse to let go.
  24. That's not really much of a rebuttal. Here's the full quote: "Ability without character will lose. The Bills are going to be a team of high character. That stamp I will push very hard. I hope we can convey that to our fans and project something very special to the rest of the nation." Also, here's a link to a program and educational brief from a Marv Levy lecture. Heart of a Hall of Famer Series: Marv Levy - Extreme Networks Notice the items listed under the learning objectives section. These are what I think Marv meant by character. It sounds to me like he wanted to build a team of players that the community and the nation can be proud of. I'm not sure how proud you can be of wife beaters, bullies and murderers. If you think you know something different the say what you think it means and back it up with some research. Otherwise, your argument is basically worthless.
  25. If you eliminate all the items on this list then there would be no more public discourse on this board or in the world for that matter. People use these strategies in debating all the time, even though they are false.
