  1. Yes. Ideally.
  2. Untrue. Need to bring in competition. At this point EJ is still the favorite over anyone that they could draft.
  3. Would awesome. 1. Find a long term prospect at QB 2. Bring in (2) starting callibur offensive linemen 3. Re-sign Hughes ✔
  4. Quotes like this alway irritate me. What else are they planning to use the money for? They had better not let Searcy go and then end up significantly under the cap.
  5. Bills would be better off trying to grab a young guy with some potential like Glennon than Cutler. Cutler is Jeff George 2.0.
  6. I agree with you. To me Bradford has always been a "deer in the headlights", injury prone QB with very mediocre passing ability. He is young so I do think he has more potential that McCown or any other FA that I can think of, but not for a 1st round pick. No way.
  7. So besides for not seeing and hitting the holes, he is a good running back? Isn't that 95% of what being a good RB is?
  8. I like Jackson and he would fill a need, but I don't think it's worth investing much more at receiver until they have a QB. Better off spending the money on defense and OL for now,
  9. It's an interesting dynamic. If they don't re-sign him then they run the risk of losing him next season for nothing, so there are forces working to drive the price down as well. If they franchised him next season, what would the number be? I'm not sure that's really a realistic option for them.
  10. I hear what you're saying about Ditka, but he is 121-95 as a head coach, won 6 division titles and 1 Super Bowl, so he must know a little bit about winning.
  11. Interesting. It sounds like idle talk to me but who knows.
  12. So bring in another QB even though he stinks just to have 3 or 4 contenders to start? Yes, I prefer Tuel to McCown. There may be a 1 in 100 chance that Tuel will become a solid starter but that's better than McCown. At this point in his career McCowns is what he is. Mike Ditka used to say that your goal should be to have only two types of players on your team: Players that you can win a championship with and players who you believe can become guys that you can win a championship with. Which one is McCown. If he's neither, then what's the point of bringing him in?
  13. Isn't Peterson still under contract in Minny? They might be willing to trade him but I think the price would be pretty steep. Why would Dallas pay that price when they actually have a pretty good RB?
  14. a) McCown will not sign with Buffalo unless he is promised a chance to compete for the starting position b) He will get too much money to be the #3 QB or to be released without extensive playing time in camp. c) EJ is a better prospect than McCown so, yes it would bother me greatly if the Bills signed McCown and then released EJ. d) McCown is not even as good as Orton, so if Kyle couldn't even get the Bills to the playoffs why do you think that McCown will? McCown at QB is the definition of another "wasted" season.
  15. The Bills need a RB and he would be a good pick IF the Bills can pick up another guard in FA. If not, then OL needs to be the pick at #2.
  16. I just explained why. There are only enough reps in camp to property evaluate prepare two candidates for the starting position. If they bring in McCown then it will be McCown and EJ and McCown is NOT a long term answer so it's a waste of time.
  17. It would be a good pickup. Gilmore and Revis would allow Rex to play the kind of defense he likes. McKelvin is pretty good but he is not as good as Revis. The Bills just can't invest so much money in him that they don't make a real run at signing Hughes.
  18. Realistically, the Bills are only going to have two contenders for the starting QB position going into camp. There aren't enough reps to decide between more than that. EJ Manuel will be one. The second one should be a young developmental prospect like Manuel (ideally better). Otherwise, what's the point? Josh McCown would just be a caretaker who would gobble up reps. Bills need to make a trade and bring in a real competitor.
  19. It's a very tough call for Manning. On the one hand, he can still play at a pretty high level- he is one year removed from leading the most prolific offense in NFL history. On the other hand, he's not going to want to start over with a new team nor sign a one year deal unless it's with a clear Super Bowl contender- and there aren't any of those who would sign him. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. I'm banking on retirement.
  20. Second chance? This is like his 5th chance. Kicked out of Nebraska, Oregon, St Louis and Miami. All for behavior related issues.
  21. And -30 yards per game in penalties.
  22. I think the running game went down the tubes when EJ and the read option went to the bench. It was really the only marginally effective running series that they had.
  23. I thought only MLB has the anti-trust exemption.
  24. The obvious answer. The Bills have a better chance of getting to Seattle's level.
