Well , Im 70.. saw the Hockey Bisons win the AHL Championship in 62-63 , 69-70, and the Bills in 64 -66 two AFL Championships , and obviously both franchises made it close over the years.. i will believe it when i see it happen for one of them.. "13" seconds ,in my opinion was the closest so far.. more so than wide right.. And will add another variable , even though, not in the context of the post.. The Buffalo Braves in the mid 70's/McAdoo years came real close.. if not for an official's BS call in a playoff game in Buffalo , very good chance , they would have won it all in the NBA that year

I agree , still remember that pass he caught from Kemp with 28 seconds left to beat the Pats on a Saturday night. Both he and Ernie Warlick joined the team around the same time, and both stayed in Buffalo .

Oh yea! loved that guy when he played here! and those teams!

Retired 70 yr old originnaly from South Buffalo, South Park HS..,UB Grad. Went to my first Bills game at the Rockpile in 1960.. with my Dad.. Bills imbedded in me ever since. Rode my bicycle out to the Regency during the years they held camp there., Upon retirement at 55 from the Govt moved to a suburb of Philly Pa in 2008 to be closer to my 2 daughters and their families, grandchildren. Needless to say its not a "joy" watching everyone here anticipting the Eagles in the Bowl this week.. Have discovered lots of transplants here over time to commiserate with . -
Bring back Davis Webb as QB Coach?
dwight in philly replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sheesh , i posted that idea a few hours earlier.. I saw a blurb about Davis Webb retiring to become a coach.. and that Joe Brady may be a candidate for an OC somewhere.., Webb seemed very close to Josh, bring him in as QB coach.. The O seemed to be working better year before last, when he was around.. Edited 5 hours ago by dwight in philly -

Got married on Sept 23 1977, honeymoon was to Frisco and Hollywood , Bills were playing the Broncos on Sept 25 1977.. Was able to incorporate a stop in Denver into my Honeymoon.. They lost, but a memorable time.. -
"Back in the day", Memorial Stadium where the Colts used to play , Johnny Unitas era , was considered the loudest place , horse shoe shaped stadium and the closed in part was legendary for it.. Then, the same people , i believe one was Weeb Ewbank , former coach of the Colts, then the Jets, said Buffalo(WMS) rivaled Baltimore.. all 45, 000 of us.. lots had to do im thinking was the roof.. closeness to the field..

50 years ago today, the final game at The Rockpile
dwight in philly replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I truly am old.. was at the last game , and went as a kid to games the first season at the Rockpile and thereafter.. The Rockpile took many "hits" in the media, but for me , always holds a special place , to say the least.. -
Trust me, i moved here for my grandchildren upon retirement , but being a rabid Sabre season ticket holder in the 70's , i end up in friggin Philly! of all places! I must have done something wrong in another life! .. as you know, life in the burbs is good though.. just have no interest in the any of the teams here..

Sunday's game vs Cleveland is being moved to Detroit
dwight in philly replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree and also as a proud Buffalo guy who moved away after spending my first 56 years there , doesnt surprise me how the fans, the people , all came together to get the players to the airport.. its a very unique , beautiful place.. Will tune out all the negative BS about "leaving early" "wasting resources on the situation" .. Love you Buffalo! -
When i watch a game that in any way could impact the Bills positively, i root for the team that could make that happen..
