  1. Actually, I Google mapped the area... the roads are paved but it doesn't look much different. The only difference is the house is now 3x what it was when we sold it in 1997.
  2. I am sure Bradenton, where my grandparents, great aunt and cousins live is NOWHERE NEAR the way it was in the late 80s.Where my grandparents lived off of the Manatee River, the roads weren't even paved but sandy dirt roads.
  3. It was off of Independence next to NC 51. That area has changed so much it's unrecognizable...!
  4. NOTHING will ever top the Township Grille in Matthews, NC... in the 90s, it was THE place to be for Buffalo sports with wings, beef on weck, the whole 9 yards. The owner, Kirk, was from Tonawanda. Then he sold it and it was never the same. The memories... ?
  5. I'm PRETTY SURE it was BEFORE he played 2 years in the league, so Polian's take is based on their NFL performance in Buffalo and not potential.
  6. Lock up Phillips so we can concentrate on fixing our offense... enough. I don't care how many DTs are available.
  7. I am all for free trade... let's trade the "President" for a competent one. Now that's good free trade!
  8. Hogan has turned back into a pumpkin and Gillislee fumbled the pumpkins, so those two acquisitions haven't been gold...
  9. Now that Gronk's career is seemingly coming to an end, there are some that seem to think he's a first ballot Hall of Famer. Here are his numbers: Year Team Games Receiving Rushing Fumbles G GS Rec Yds Avg Lng TD Att Yds Avg Lng TD Fum Lost 2010 NE 16 11 42 546 13.0 28 10 0 0 0.0 0 0 1 1 2011 NE 16 16 90 1,326 14.7 52T 17 1 2 2.0 2T 1 0 0 2012 NE 11 11 55 790 14.4 41 11 0 0 0.0 0 0 1 1 2013 NE 7 6 39 592 15.2 50 4 0 0 0.0 0 0 0 0 2014 NE 15 10 82 1,124 13.7 46T 12 0 0 0.0 0 0 0 0 2015 NE 15 15 72 1,176 16.3 76T 11 0 0 0.0 0 0 0 0 2016 NE 8 6 25 540 21.6 53 3 0 0 0.0 0 0 0 0 2017 NE 14 14 69 1,084 15.7 53T 8 0 0 0.0 0 0 1 0 2018 NE 13 13 47 682 14.5 42 3 0 0 0.0 0 0 1 1 Career 115 102 521 7,860 15.1 76 79 1 2 2.0 2 1 4 3 There is NO WAY numbers like that equal a first ballot Hall of Famer. NO WAY, especially in this TE pass-happy NFL.
  10. That's exactly what I thought when I found out the details. There are at least two QBs who are guaranteed first rounders, maybe three. The Dolphins and Giants can't afford him, and the Jaguars will probably take a QB. I cannot seriously believe Philly would do this... their cap numbers are ATROCIOUS!
  11. I think they are still cheating, but in a different way, because magically the Cheatriots adjust perfectly. They target vulnerable coaching ctaffs and get an edge. Sean McVay should have heeded the warnings given by others and have done something radical to prevent this. I hope so...
  12. Problem with your post is that the Raiders and Chargers both have historically bad ownership. It is no wonder that both of them no longer play where they did. Why should cities be held hostage by terrible owners? The blame rests with them.
  13. NO... at this point, it's who I DON'T WANT... and that's Oliver. I did not like his childish stunt on the sideline over a jacket, combined with the fact we don't need to draft a DL so damn high. Anyone but that guy...
  14. I was going to just post this and I see it's already being discussed. I found it interesting that Haslam passed on Bridgewater because he didn't like his handshake and he hired Hue Jackson over Sean McDermott because he could better relate to players. It seems as if Haslam thought he was still in Tennessee. The article points out that the NFL was his first experience in diversity. Putting all of this together, I think Haslam is in over his head with respect to a diverse work environment and judging people and players. If any of you watch Undercover Boss, you know how badly some of these executive types relate to ordinary people and the business they operate and it sometimes can be embarrassing.
  15. I am THRILLED by this move. Last season Barrett handcuffed our offense. This season, Schiano handicapped our defense. If you would have told me after last season that Daboll did a much better job than Schiano in 2018, I would have been shocked.
  16. Considering we are the only team to do it, then yeah, it's KIND OF A BIG DEAL. If you can't be proud of the achievement, then I guess you chose the wrong team. Considering we haven't even SNIFFED an AFC Championship Game much less a Super Bowl since the mid 90s, I'd say your take is WAY off base.
  17. It hasn't always been that way... before the Industrial Revolution here, it wasn't even close. America WAS truly the land of opportunity... until the Industrial Revolution! Can't stand it that in the 21st Century people just say stuff without even any legitimate supported facts to outright lying as the Orange Cheeto does on a regular basis... "Before the industrial revolution, wealth gaps between countries were modest: income per person in the world’s ten richest countries was only six times higher than that in the ten poorest. But within each country the distribution of income was skewed. In most places a small elite lorded it over a mass of peasants. There was little social mobility except, as Elizabeth found, through marriage. Colonial America was an exception to this feudal sclerosis. Research by Peter Lindert and Jeffrey Williamson shows that on the eve of the American revolution incomes in the 13 colonies that formed the United States were more equal than in virtually “any other place on the planet”." https://www.economist.com/special-report/2012/10/13/as-you-were
  18. How charitable for the guy who hit a pedestrian at 2am and took off...
  19. Four straight Super Bowl losses? Yeah... https://www.newyorkupstate.com/expo/sports/g66l-2019/01/0fd80941c78789/buffalo-bills-fans-media-remind-adam-schefter-that-saints-suffering-far-from-worst.html I mentioned it yesterday that the couple of calls against us were far more egregious than one non-PI call, which had Sean Peyton merely ran the ball they more than likely would have won. :14 left and :00 left on the clock for three egregious calls in two games didn't leave us the same chance!
  20. I swear, I expect this from other fans, BUT NOT BILLS FANS!!! Music City Miracle? Shawn Jefferson's phantom 1st down catch? PI on Henry Jones on the last play of the game against the Patriots, causing Ralph Wilson to go crazy in his box? NAH, BRO... know your Bills history.
  21. When I was younger, I could not understand why older people cared so much about death. Now, I understand... when you start losing people you care about and people that you shared your life with in various pursuits, THEN death really hits home, especially if they are younger than you.
  22. When ANYONE changes their body chemistry or shape to make a lot of money and do what they love, if they didn't care when they were working, why should anyone else??? Not my responsibility.
  23. You actually have to be on the field for games that count in order to be better than any of our receivers. Get serious. He has FRICKIN MAHOMES, NFL MVP, as his quarterback, and he STILL can't live up to his draft position or contract. Robert Foster had more yards than him this season. Take a guess as to what their pay disparity is. Yeah.
  24. One other option... Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. He loves having losers on his team ?
  25. AGREED. They made a great decision and retain the coach-QB chemistry. A SMART move... great GM, up and coming team with a roster coming together nicely, and of course Browns fans are passionate and patient if the progress continues.
